Master Tree Care

Thank you so much for coming to my house yesterday to look at my Red Cedar tree. I am hoping we can save the tree and am following your recommendations. I wish I would have contacted you sooner!

It has been a couple weeks since master tree care trimmed our Chinese elm, and I feel I need to write this review still. They arrived early, the arborist John, was great as were all the employees I dealt with. The tree is a bit naked but looks nice. So why two stars? After they left, our yard and ally were a mess. I spent a couple hours raking and picking up large chunks left behind. The ally had several medium sized branches and many leaves and smaller branches left behind on top of a pile of cigarette butts. I have a two year old… And she found a cigarette butt in our yard!!! As well as several wet marks on the side of our garage where it appears they urinated… It was gross enough the man smoked in my yard but to have them leave a mess behind, pitiful.

Finally! We found someone that does what they say and do what is needed but only better then you think they will.
The crew arrived and offered advice how to trim the tree in the front yard, I had a thought how to trim down the crown but they explained how to do it even better then I wanted.
Are you kidding me? That’s was a surprise
and when it came to cutting close to the house and pretty high up, it turned out great and the work areas left clean.
Let me tell you something about me,
I am pretty darn picky, know what I want —
Don’t give me excuses or I’ll put on boot on your back side!
Master Tree Care did not hesitate to give us a bid (Ken knows his craft)
Did the work that put a smile on my face and that’s not an easy thing to do.
The wife will be happy (for now)…

Master Tree Care sent out an arborist to give us an estimate for two trees on our property in Foothill Farms area of Sacramento, CA 95 842. He advised us to wait until autumn to prune back an overgrown Fruitless Mulberry in front and an overgrown Maple tree in back. He gave us a lot of information and a free estimate. Likely I will use this company when the time comes; I believe they are trustworthy and honestly concerned about doing a job that will care for the tree, When the time comes and I have the money, this is the company I will call.

This review is for the free mulch, for all you fellow gardeners out there!
I’ve gotten free mulch before from Bud’s. But this year, after being on the wait list since MARCH — that’s 6 months, 3 calls, and still no mulch– I called Master Tree Care and within 48 hours I had a full truckload of free mulch delivered to the desired part of my driveway. They were responsive and communicative. Great service!

I had Master Tree Care remove a tree from my backyard and also trim the trees around my yard. They are competitively priced and did just what they said they would do. The workers showed up on time and were very polite and friendly. There were no hidden fees and my backyard was left in good shape when they were done.
The place has been in business for 46 years and I can see why. I will definitely use them again and would recommend them to my friends and family.

I decided to use Master Tree Care this year because the work was overseen by an arborist. Ken and his crew showed up on time and went right to work. I have two very tall fan palms in my backyard. They are too far from the street to use the cherry picker so one of the guys had to climb the tree. I think it took him less than 20 minutes to do both trees. It’s always tense because my neighbor gets kinda crazy when stuff goes into his yard. After a rocky start with the neighbor things settled down and they carried on, then cleaned up both neighbors yards. After the fan palms were done they cleaned up some queen palms, yukkas and a guava tree. I also had them do some work in the front yard. They followed all my instructions and consulted with all the way. All the debris was hauled off. My yards look great. I’m very impressed with the quality of the work. I can definitely recommend recommend Master Tree Care.

Our plum tree in the back yard had grown so full and thick that our yard grass was dying from lack of sunlight. We knew we’d have to get some trimming done by professionals. After much research, Hubby happened upon Master Tree Care. He called and John came out the next day to give us a quote. While looking at our plum, he noticed our red maple had a crack starting in it, and warned us that because the tree was so tall, it was getting windblown and causing the split, which in turn would eventually cause the whole tree to split and fall down. He also took a look at our DIY massacre of our once-​beautiful river birch, which was recently ravaged by birch bores. He gave us some advice on how to hopefully save what’s left, but if we need to have it removed, we know who we’re calling.
Anyway, we decided to have the crew come out and do the maple and plum. Three guys showed up, and took care of business in a most efficient way. Both trees look awesome now, and I can’t wait to see the difference in them come spring time.
These is a great company, and we will mos’ def’ use them again. I would highly recommend them to anyone out there in need of getting their trees taken care of in a most efficient way.

Quick response to my phone call about our shaggy palm tree needing a trim, and a very reasonable bid. The crew was here on time, got right to work and cleaned up after themselves. I wouldn’t say it was cosmetically the best job, but definitely worth the price. (BTW, palm trees are a pain!).
What really pushed these guys over the top for me: Along with the bid, Mr. Spurgin — an arborist — left lists of recommended trees and trees to avoid, as well as a bid for other problems he spotted among my other trees. Also, they offered a first time discount OR a donation to the Sacramento Childrens’ Home. For me, that adds up to a 5 star company.

Excellent work on cleaning up a wildly out of control Japanese mulberry, and a deodar cedar that had multiple dead branches. They also took out a dying silver maple. They were meticulous in cleaning up the debris, stacked the logs I asked to save for firewood, and were polite and friendly. Ken, the arborist who came out, was knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I would highly recommend this company!

I called a couple of different places, and this is the only place that returned my call. I’m glad they did. They came out the same day to give me an estimate, and had the work done within a week. The customer service is top notch, and they did a great job on our tree. We will use them again for sure.

Called Master Tree Care after noticing that 2 trees appear to be dying without any apparent reason. John S. came & explained that possibly the new next-​door neighbor (who is redoing his back yard & putting in sprinklers) worked some pesticide, insecticide or a weed-​killer of some sort into the ground (as there were no weeds visible when he looked over the fence.) and this substance had gotten into the root systems of the 2 trees which are adjacent to neighbor’s yard. He suggested to wait-​and-​see if the trees completely die, gave me estimates for their removal, & suggested replacement trees/​shrubs, just in case. On leaving, noticed that other tree branches were starting to hang over the house roof. Suggested trimming those back asap. Took him up on this, called office to set-​up a time. Before that was done, crew came by in the AM a day or two later & did the required trimming. Did not have to come to door as they did the required work, and I was subsequently billed the estimate price for the work done. It all couldn’t have gone smoother. I will definitely call them again when these other trees require action.

The owner of this company came by my house twice. He is having a hard time making a living, because of the economy and, I guess, my review. He requested that I remove my review.
He advised me that his son no longer works there, but that Chang does. Perhaps the quality of work is better when he is personally in charge of the crew. I have thus added a star.

The guys who were sent out were great! Very polite, professional and got to work right away. Afterwards, they cleaned everything up better than it was when they got there. The price was, by far the best I got after about 4 bids. I highly recommend this company.

What a FIND!!! We had this crazy tree, with some kind of fungus/​pest, and the last company we had out didnt’ even know what kind of tree it was! John showed up, knew the tree, knew the pest, knew how to fix it, and gave us a multiple options as to how to proceed. He was like a tree encyclopedia! Within days we had John, Jr. and Brian at our house, slicing and dicing this pest invested tree away, and then a few days later, grinding the stump and planting the new tree of our choice! They were so efficient, if we hadn’t seen them there, we would have assumed our tree just magically disappeared in the night. Nice men, nice work, nice to have a Arborist we can count on!!!

I had been putting off the trimming of my 50 year old fig tree for 10 years. Called Master Care and that day had John out to give me an estimate.
Not scary at all and was even in my poor gal’s budget. Two young nice men came out and worked hard for several hours (even in the rain).The tree looks beautiful, all the trimmings removed and the surrounding yard cleaned. They are coming back to remove a stump. I will absolutely use them again!
