Whether you’re just passing through for an event or actually staying at the hotel, there is a little dining area called the Marketplace Café located on the first floor of the Embassy Suites(not to be confused with the Tower Bridge Bistro restaurant), and is a convenient option for anyone who needs a quick yet substantial bite! Order and pay at the counter, then have a seat and your food will be brought out to you. The lunch menu was actually more extensive than we thought it would be, consisting of a variety of sandwiches, burgers, some pasta and salads, and even ice cream(believe me, I was tempted)! Because this is technically hotel food, the feel is a little more upscale than you might find in very nearby Old Sac, as well as a little more expensive… however, I didn’t find it TOO outrageous — my turkey burger was close to $ 12 with tax but the burger itself was decently sized and flavored with a reasonable amount of fries provided on the side. I was pleasantly surprised at how long, crispy, and delicious the fries were! My only minor complaint was that although the burger came with most of the usual fixings(lettuce, tomatoes, onions), it didn’t come with any cheese, which my taste buds faintly longed for afterwards. Water cups are available for free by the seating area so no need to quench your thirst while making your wallet even sadder. Our food came out considerably fast, maybe 5 minutes after we ordered, although service seemed to slow down as the kitchen got busier, so be sure to beat the lunch rush! Not my first choice if I have no reason to be at the Embassy Suites, but an easy option if you happen to be there.
