Embassy Suites

I see some of the mixed reviews for this property, which are shocking. This property has the best customer service I’ve experienced for a hotel at this price point and at any Embassy I’ve stayed at, quite frankly. The staff waited on me hand and foot for the two days I was there. They were absolutely attentive and great! I would be back just for the great service.
The room itself was super cozy and clean. The furniture wasn’t rundown and old. It was modern enough to be comfortable. There’s a mall nearby where you can do some damage if that’s your thing. I enjoyed my stay and will be back for sure.
Be advised that parking is limited. I valeted for $ 30/​night as I’m a business traveler and would not park across the street in a structure. Other than this, I loved it!

The hubby and I decided to have a day to ourselves to celebrate my birthday and chose to stay at this Embassy Suites for the first time. Location is great, it is right on the river and across the street from Old Sacramento. After dinner at Joe’s Crab Shack, we bought some candy to take home to the little one at Candy Heaven and got some gaff gifts at Evageline’s for ourselves. We really wanted to walk around some more but the weather was so cold outside we headed back to our room to stay warm.
We stayed in a room on the 6^th floor with river views and everything was great like the other ES locations we’ve been to, from the front desk check in and check out, room cleanliness, staff friendliness & helpfulness, room service speed & customer service, free drinks provided at the bar downstairs from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, amenities provided (two flat screen TVs, mini fridge, microwave, in room desk, separate living room & bedroom, etc.).
Valet parking is $ 30 a night which is pricey being that this isn’t San Francisco and it’s actually cheaper to park elsewhere in downtown Sacramento, but it is convenient and we’re used to paying a higher amount when staying at ES. The pillows we had were a bit on the flat side for my liking but I slept like a baby either way. The biggest complaint we do have is why we knocked off 1 star from our review; there are no thermostats in the rooms to adjust the temperatures. It was really cold outside (high 30s, low 40s) and when we returned to our room we couldn’t even turn on the heater so it was really cold in there too. Luckily they provided a thick down comforter and extra blanket which helped. I’m not sure if I’d stay here again though because I have to be able to adjust the temperature. You’re already paying for the room so customers should be able to change the temperature to whatever makes them comfortable.

From the valet parking, to the friendly desk, to the fastest and smoothest elevator, we went to our most comfortable suite. The view from our balcony down into the spacious atrium wasn’t quite like looking from atop Mt. Whitney, but a smaller version of that type of delight. We ate meals in their restaurant. The waiters in their restaurant were on target. We enjoyed the made to order omelets by the breakfast chef’s. The suite had a TV in the bedroom and the front room. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. I could not hear people in other rooms or traffic. Everything worked. Were greeted by a variety of management, Tracy and Clay and a few others who’s names escape me. We’ll be back!

This is the worst place I ever been too. The bar tender dude is so fucked up like I asked for her sister instead of a drink… so plz don’t waste ur time. Shitty place for drinks

Extremely clean room, professional front desk and easy to get to from the freeway, friendly valet and nice views of Sacramento.

Very nice hotel and a great location.
Nightly rate was competitive but there was no mention on my reservation that there is a $ 30 a day parking fee.

After a long day working and traveling away from home, the warmth and hospitality that the employees showed is second to none. Made me feel at home when I was away from home. I would give this property 10 stars if I was able.

The reason for the 3 star rating is due to the parking cost. The price per night is worth the room and service but $ 30 a night to park??? Are you kidding me?! Now if they washed your car and ensured your tire pressure was good I could see the high parking cost but just to have your car sit? Ridiculous!!!

Good place to stay if you want to close by the downtown and old Sacramento. The upside is the location the river and the free breakfast which is really good. The downside if you will, is parking fee of &30.00. But is is not that bad as the self parking across the street is 24 for overnight. I would rather park at the hotel valet and done with it. The rooms are very comfy. If I have to stay near downtown I will stay here again without a doubt.

Nice place with a lot of great perks, except the Wi-​Fi cost.
Also, there is a design flaw with the shower. The shower rod is curved downward so the shower curtain comes open on both sides. This causes water to leak out of the front near the faucet and flood the floor. I was very cold during my shower in the water wouldn’t stay hot either. :-(
Also there is nowhere in the shower to hang a shower bag. When you hang it on the shower rod, it just slides down towards the middle.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in in a very long time. There were a few good things like free breakfast and the river but besides that we will never stay here again and may not stay with hilton ever again… That’s how terrible the experience was.
I live in chronic pain and have to walk with a cane due to my pain and a failed surgery. Upon arrival we are told that they charge $ 30 a night for parking… Seriously??? This isn’t San Fran or Seattle… Come on! Also due to my disability I can’t stand for a long period even waiting for a car, so I asked for a handicap spot… They don’t have one of those. How stupid!
The worst part is the customer service here… I went down to get food from the bar area and came back up with my food and drink and my key… My key didn’t work so I asked if the maids could let me in… However, since it was under my husbands name they refused to let me in. I am not going to walk all the way down when there are maids right there. The manager came up as tears streamed down my face from pain. IT TAKES SO MUCH OUT OF SOMEONE WITH CHRONIC PAIN TO EVEN STAND STILL!
The manager refused to let me in the room because my husband wasn’t here… Um… I can call him… Show you my ID inside my room. This manager WALKED AWAY FROM ME without even helping me. Are you serious? He was the worst manager I have ever met in my life. He is African American (that’s just in case someone from the place is reading this) and was super rude to me.
Finally my husband who is at work calls in and someone let me in my room… After I had to sit on the nasty floor because my pain is so severe. I asked the general manager to call me… And I have not heard a thing from him.
Also, the beds are ROCK hard, there is no DVD player, the TV goes in and out, the pool is tiny, and you can here EVERYTHING through the walls and windows… If you can stay somewhere else.

Stayed overnight to attend a River Cats game and toured the Leland Stanford Mansion (see my separate review). Everyone from the car valets to check in to the bellman to the wait staff were extremely and genuinely pleasant. We would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed here about 10 times. Whenever i visit Sacramento i stay here. The hotel is lively and they have a free happy hour along with a free breakfast.
Suites are nice and contemporary. Location is right across street from old town Sacramento and within walking distance to mall. I prefer the rooms on the «river» side, but all rooms have good views and are comfortable.
Valet parking is $ 30 a day~ or you can park in the garage across the street & play frogger trying to get to the hotel~ just kidding… Traffic’s not that bad, but it is a major/​busy street.

Pretty impressed with corporate Embassy Suites; they contacted me via Twitter with in the hour of my negative review and reached out in an attempt to solve my issue, and apologized for the previous incident. Shout out to the Night Auditor/​Manager Darryl (different guy than jerk in a brown suit that I mentioned in my earlier review) for calling me and seeing if there is anything he could do to help me out.
Their efforts went above and beyond to resolve my issues with this hotel, I just wish it was better handled from the beginning because getting that agitated and upset upon my arrival really painted the tone for my whole evening which was not very enjoyable for me or my dinner companions.
I still think they need a clearer operation plan in place for vehicles when guests first arrive. Unless it’s just considered «cost of doing business» to piss off a certain percent of customers.

Today we checked in for the second time and upon reservation we asked for a king bed. We got 2 double beds. When we told the guy upon checking in he said the hotel is sold out and he has no other rooms available with king bed! We are both tall and couldn’t fit in a double bed so we both had to sleep in separate beds!!! Ridiculous.
The breakfast has very basic foods like eggs, sausage and potato. Melons, yoghurt and half of grapefruit that I couldn’t get out of the shell. They cut the grapefruit in half and don’t give any sharp knives or spoons to get it out. I fought with it for 20 min and got bunch of grapefruit juice out on the plate — very messy.
They charge $ 30 per night for parking! They also charge for wifi! Do not stay here. There are many hotels with free parking and free wifi. What hotels charge for basic wifi these days???
We called the delta king hotel next door and they charge $ 130/​night, $ 20/​parking and have free wifi. We will try them next time.
We ended up paying $ 530 for 2 nights (Wed & Thu) which I thought was way too much for the service we got. We spend lots of time in hotels because we travel for work M-​F and this is the first hotel that was charging for wifi. We just used hot spot on our phone and connected that way.

This place was pretty good. The surrounding area is perfect. It is right by everything in Old Sac.
Embassy Suite is very clean and very comfy. Their rooms are spacious and they have a great view.
Their staff is very friendly and approachable. The valet team was great as well. They acknowledged that it was my honey moon and they comped our parking fees. They were very knowledgeable about the surrounding area.
The main reason I did not give a 5 star rating was because I was not highly impressed with the complimentary breakfast. The only thing that sets the breakfast apart was the fresh made omelet. Everything else you can find at any other hotels breakfast menu.
Overall, I would for sure recommend this place anytime!

I chose this place for my wedding night. When my brand new husband and I checked in, in FULL gown and tux, we were completely ignored by the front desk clerk. And when I say ignored, I mean — not even a greeting. The man at the front desk was talking with a customer about business WIFI on an upper floor. They both looked at us briefly and continued talking casually. For OVER FIVE MINUTES. Just let us stand there. No «be right with you» or anything. We stood there waiting … and waiting … a GUEST walked by and congratulated us quietly. When the WIFI businessman walked away, the front desk clerk begrudgingly checked us in. NO CONGRATULATIONS. NO SMILE. NOOOTTTHIIINNNGGG. You could feel it radiating off him that he thought we were beneath him.
I never got a honeymoon. That was it. And I got treated like garbage. This place only wants customers with money. They’re not interested in treating you well otherwise.

Aside from their wonderful welcoming reception with an hour of free drinks, I was not impressed with our recent stay. The staff were all generally very nice. Our only complaint with staff was that upon check-​in, my wife’s credit card was billed at the normal rate (even though we’d reserved two nights at a discounted rate.) Her credit card company contacted her for suspected fraud, since the amount was over her authorized limit. At no time did they say they would bill us that amount, and when we asked about it at the front desk, they said that original amount would be honored and we’d be credited upon check out. This did end up happening, but we were shocked they would over-​charge us without mentioning it.
Since we were at the hotel for a conference, the discounted room rates were based on two double beds. So, my wife and I slept separately. This was actually pretty nice. She didn’t take up the entire bed, stealing the blankets, and draping her limbs all over me. I think she enjoyed sleeping in her own bed too, though I caught her eyeing my side of the room once.
When we checked in we planned on swimming since our room wasn’t quite ready. We were only half an hour early. The room where the indoor pool is was really warm and uncomfortable. Swimming did not sound fun so we were really disappointed about that. My wife used the fitness center instead. The tiny room has a handful of machines, and no space to stretch, even though they have a stretching mat hidden behind the weights. It was tiny.
Our room was pretty nice. A living room upon entering with a couch and TV, a fridge and coffee maker near the bathroom, and the beds in the back. The TV in our room had some sort of weird glitch and pulsed in intensity. It wasn’t terrible to watch, but even the subtle pulsing was kind of annoying.
The hotel is in a great location — lots to do around it (walking paths, the Old Sac town area for shopping/​sight-​seeing), and fortunately some food since the hotel food was not terrific.
We had to pay around $ 20/​day for the valet — when the convention was over and there was a rush to check out and go home, there was a very long wait for cars. If you’re going to have your patrons waiting that long, you should never charge them that much money.

Nice hotel in a great location!
I loved walking out of the hotel, passing by the bridge, and going to a restaurant in Old Sacramento within minutes. The walk is short and enjoyable as it’s like a small boardwalk by the train track, lots of character.
As far as the hotel amenities, it has all that Embassy Suites offer: one bedroom suites, hot breakfast and Manager’s reception (free drinks) included. Staff was nice and efficient!
Totally recommended!

Positives: Nice large room w/​microwave, small fridge, two tvs, awesome view if you are lucky like we were in room 831, quiet, awesome breakfast, complimentary beverages/​snacks at nightly reception, within walking distance to Raley Field, Old Sac, basically anywhere your little heart desires, friendly staff
Con: Valet only parking for $ 28.00, you could park close by too– it’s just the convenience of being parked at the hotel that you are paying for BUT you already pay a lot to stay here so it seems steep.
I would stay again and park elsewhere
