Maita Subaru

After my mechanic couldn’t figure out what is wrong with my Subaru, I went to the dealer worried. But the experience couldn’t have been better, they worked on my car for an hour, didn’t charge me anything, and rather than suggesting expensive repairs (which may or may not work) they suggested I do further tests with the car. Super helpful and professional!

Have brought my Brz for service here a couple of times. I have to say Ben is the man! He takes care of business without having to say a word!

Had a great experience leasing my new Outback. I got a very competitive lease deal, with a few extra options thrown in, all of which got me to drive away very satisfied. Larry Bilger and Jamie Sachs helped me choose the right car and explained the differences well. This will be the beginning of a long relationship with Subarus (my first one) and Maita.

Larry Bilger was the one and only reason that I wound up buying a car from Maita Subaru. My son told me how well he had been treated by Larry when he bought an Outback and when I got the run around from my local Subaru dealer, I decided to call Larry. Within three minutes of talking to Larry over the phone I knew that I was going to buy an Outback through him. I flew commercial airlines 500 miles to see Larry. He even offered to pick me up at the airport if I needed a ride. The entire purchasing process was a joy and visiting with Larry was great. I felt very comfortable the whole time and he was very appreciative of my business. The 500 mile drive home in my new Outback was great. A very comfortable car. You ask what would make a person travel 500 miles to purchase a car? Larry’s kind, considerate and honest way of doing business.

Customer service is always great here whether is service, sales, or parts. Facility is always nice and clean and location is right next to the freeway as well. Always a happy customer after leaving.

Located right off freeway. We were helped promptly and friendly by the sales staff. New staff members still had plenty to learn about the cars but did their best to answer questions or forward to the others.
We test drove a car. Sales explained various car features. We got back to be store and the staff helping answered some questions. Staff did not try to over sell or encourage to something we didn’t want. It was nice.
Car selections were limited in what we were looking for that day. Helpful and friendly staff we would come back to purchase.

Never thought I would have a pleasant time a purchasing car. Don Hutchinson made the whole experience as pain free as possible. He is super friendly and knows his stuff! I would recommend him to anyone considering purchasing from Maita Subaru. Even after purchasing the car he still checked up on me to make sure everything was okay with the car. A month and a half later… he again called to make sure there were no issues with the car and that I was still happy with my purchase, which i was. Seriously a stand up guy! Thanks Don!

our sales person was wonderful, our car is great, but our experience trying to come back the next business day to cancel our maintenance agreement was poor: we were informed that we could not complete our cancellation the day we came in, because the regular person who handled it was not there, and to come back the next day.
It took a lot of complaining to get the transaction handled without having to return. In this day and age, it would seem that modern communication and technologies could have been employed. if i was buying another car, this experience with poor customer service would make me really hesitate…

Al Rosenbloom and Eric Stroud made buying my new 2016 Subaru Forester very easy. Loved the service they provided and I look forward to owning my new Subaru for years to come. Keep up the great work folks!

This review is just for the service – regular oil changes. With an appointment we never wait more than 1 hour on a Saturday for an oil change. David, service rep, is great to work with. Actually they all are.
Hubs and I always check under the hood before we leave, due to no neglect from them. It’s just what we do. I have to say that we never had issues from an oil change, such as missing oil cap, left over cloth rag, or loose bolts. Believe it or not we have experienced that at other dealership service dept.
But I have to tell you that one of the receptionist that answers the phone has a voice that sounds like a computerized recording. The main number’s initial response is a number prompt then it rolls to the receptionist. When she answers the phone, it’s amusing because I tend to talk back as if she was a computerized voice prompt before I realize she is a live person.

I just purchased a 2016 Suburu Limited Premium WRX STI at this dealership last week. I have heard a lot of great things about this business from several people whom I respect. I got exactly the car I wanted in half the the time I thought I would since it was coming straight from the factory. I was pleased that they gave me a fair amount on my trade in. Overall, the whole purchase transaction was painless. I couldn’t be happier w/​the sales people, nor the deal we made. Although I am sure all of the employees are excellent here, I dealt with the following individuals whom I would highly recommend. Daniel Espero, Lisa Park and Will Dean.
I appreciated the personal touch that Daniel made in sending me a nice Thank you card after my purchase and gifting me a sweet Suburu keychain. :-)

What’s a girl to do when her dear Dad is driving a 1991 Honda Civic with 417,000 miles on it, and the next repair will lead to either a quote on a rebuilt engine or the going rates at a salvage yard? Short of conjuring her old Barbie convertible to a full-​size vehicle with a magic wand, it was time to do some shopping. Major shopping.
If you would rather have a root canal, visit your in-​laws, or do your taxes than shop for a used car, let me steer you to a new purchasing experience: Maita Subaru in Sacramento. I, too, thought that car purchasing was a forgotten circle of hell in Dante’s Inferno based on prior history, but a positive experience from start to finish at Maita has changed my mind. A new car purchase was not a good financial option, and we had our hearts set on a used Subaru. Dad had purchased a used Forester seven years ago, and with regular maintenance and care it has been a great investment for regular commutes and trips (mostly mine). After it sustained minimal damage in a major rear-​end accident, we were convinced that a Subaru was the only way to go for safety and reliability. I joined CarFax and did searches for the makes and models we were interested in, which led us to Maita Subaru.
Dickson, their internet sales manager, kept us interested in a low-​key and businesslike manner by showing us several models after the original car we had made an appointment to see turned out to have manual transmission (my bad). One test-​drive later with a car that seemed like a «long shot,» we were sold. Negotiations and haggling followed, a price was agreed upon, and the process began! Finance manager Vang handled the paperwork with aplomb and professionalism, and I must confess, we even had a bit of fun. Hard to believe with a major purchase, but it’s true. The people at Maita Subaru do their jobs well, want to fit customers with the best vehicle, and make the whole process enjoyable, even when you are signing 20 sheets of paper.
Credit checks and financing discussions followed, but everything contract-​wise was above-​board and reassuring, with disclosures and details, so important when making a big purchase. Per California law we opted to keep the car for 48 hours to drive it and have our mechanic give it a once-​over. This is a nominal fee for worst-​case scenario neurotics such as ourselves ($ 250 non-​refundable deposit) and Maita was very gracious about arranging this process. Long story short, we fell in love with the car, and with Maita Subaru. The only problem is, it’s hard to see Dad lately, since he’s always driving his Subaru Turbo Forester with sunroof and tinted windows! The nice thing is, he lets me borrow it sometimes!

My wife and I bought both our Outbacks at the same time. Since 2011 we have only taken our vehicles to Maita even though, there is a Subaru dealer in Elk Grove where we live.
I think the fact that we both bought cars on the same day, same make and model, had thrown them off. Even though we used different email addresses to set up online accounts to make service appointments, it has not been a smooth experience. A few months ago, we received an email informing my wife that she is overdue a scheduled maintenance from April 2014: however, the sticker inside her windshield has a date of July 2014, the same day I took my car in.
So we both needed oil changes… and I needed new tires. I called 6 business days ahead to order the tires. I was told someone would call me when they were in. We had our cars serviced but I had not received a call about the tires but I told the service rep to check. I was told, they would be in that afternoon. Sure sounds nice… :-)
We came home, and decided to get some lunch downtown. I got onto the freeway. and immediately noticed smoke billowing out from behind me. I pulled over right away… As I slowed down, I could see some some liquid trailing me… and a huge puddle. When I pulled over, my oil light was on… and I looked under the car and more oil was spewing out. We called our tow service and the driver asked if we had had any service recently. He then shared that the oil drain plug was gone.
We took the car back to Maita… and they were quite nice about it… offered me some free oil changes… and apologized profusely. Oh, and I got a free car wash coupon too.
So I waited for the phone call about my tires… and here it is, four days later from the date I was told they would be in, and no call. So I shopped around at other places and found a better deal, same brand, same model tires.
I called to cancel the tire order I had with Maita (lol…) and the parts rep acted like nothing unique was going on… didn’t even try to find out why I was canceling, or seeing on his computer that I had ordered the tires almost two weeks ago… NOTHING.
For a while now, I have been growing leery of taking my car there… and now they have given me a good reason.
Now I do not think, for one second, that this review is going to have any impact on their business… I am just one out of many customers, many of them pleased with their service. I just think its important to document terrible service when you experience it.

I purchased my 2015 Outback here over the weekend and couldn’t be happier. I also sold my old Buick to Maita Toyota and that experience was equally enjoyable.
Enrique helped me with the buying of my old car, he was fair and quick. Jamie Sachs and Al (the sales manager) helped me with the purchase of my new Outback and they made the whole experience almost fun. They were not pushy or overly in my face about anything.
The Outback I wanted was in transit when I traded in my Buick. They provided me with a 2015 Camry until my Outback arrived at not additional charge.
When my family is ready to purchase our next Subaru we’ll definitely return to Maita Subaru.

I’ve been back a few times for service, but it hasn’t improved that much. This last visit I specifically requested a mileage tuneup only to arrive and was told they didn’t have that on the schedule, just an oil change. I had a really packed schedule and had carved out that part of my day specifically for working at the dealership. The lady at the counter told me it would take an extra two hours to get the work done because they didn’t have enough guys on the schedule. Oy vey.
I arrived back the following day, after having driven out here from West Sac and they did the work as promised. They were pretty speedy and my car seems fine.
It would be a little easier to work if they would play something in the waiting room besides talk shows. No one ever seems to watch them yet they keep playing them. They do offer coffee and tea, and there are spacious bathrooms. Wifi is also offered and it was a good connection and decent speed.
After having purchased a car at CarMax, and having such a poor buying experience here in addition to multiple problems with a few appointments, I can’t rate Maita Subaru better than A-​OK.

Hands Down I Feel Like He Genuinely Cared For What I Wanted & What My Budget Was, He Got Me A Great Deal & A Deal That Works For Me. I Got My Dream Car Hassle Free & Not Pushy Like Others Who Want To Get Paid & Don’t Care At All!

I was looking to buy a car for some time. I found a car here at Maita. I ended up financing though Maita as well. They got me a better loan rate than I got at my credit union.
I kinda already knew what I wanted and the salesperson just facilitated that. Real nice guy. He wasn’t pushy at all. then I got to the finance guy and he was nice too.
I didn’t have an above average experience. Maybe I was just worn out from months of car shopping. I don’t know. But I bought here. and I feel okay about it. I’ve been back for service and the sales person that helped me remembered me and my name each time I saw him. That was nice.
Cons: I’m not keen on their detail. When I bought my car and they cleaned it up for me to take home, it wasn’t a stellar job. It was streaky and I just wanted to take it somewhere else to get washed and detailed. That kinda made the buying experience a little somber. Like, I just dropped racks on this and that’s how I get it?
I’ve called service with a question and was told the person to talk to would call me back. Never called me.
So i’m not really impressed nor am I hating on Maita Subaru. It’s just A-​OK.

This review is for the sales department.
In general the staff here is quite polite was respectful of my time considerations when I came in with my significant other to test drive vehicles. We were informed of all available options and not pressured to buy. As a result, given I was ready to purchase a vehicle I came back with the intention to make a deal.
I sat down with sales staff and pointed out specifically that I needed to be out of there by a certain time and this seemed well understood. My negotiation process seemed to go smoothly and we appeared to settle on an out the door price for the vehicle, how much I would be financing and a very low balled price on my trade-​in. Regardless, the price seemed right.
At this point they took me out to drive the car again and make sure I was certain and at this point things looked good. I was asked to come into the sales office and start filling out financing paperwork/​etc and then after the preliminary paperwork was shown a «new» number that was almost $ 6000 more than previously shown.
At this point my numbers and Maita Subaru’s numbers are more than $ 6000. Regardless of my encouragement to make this right given the amount of time that was now wasted there was no way that this deal was going to happen.
The car buying process is by nature, sometimes a completely pain in the ass but at least most of time if you are clear about your means/​options this kind of thing doesn’t happen. As much as I do enjoy hearing the classic car salesmen stories about inability to move on price because of inventory/​etc these excuses fall on deaf ears if the customer is treated like this.
I not only feel like I wasted 3 hours of my time but my taste for purchasing a Subaru has been significantly soured.
