June 14^th 2016 I went in to Maita Toyota to purchase a 2016 Toyota Prius at 2:30pm and the sales manager Mr Johnny Cruz helped me with all the paper work including insurance n I took the new car home and finance department was so friendly n I’m so happy with my car and if you out there looking for a new car. I highly suggest that you call Mr Johnny Cruz and discuss with him what kind a car u looking for, down payments and your monthly payments…

Came here to buy a certified pre-​owned vehicle. Selected the car, arranged financing, the whole nine. 2 weeks later Sami (their finance guy) calls and says financing hadn’t gone through, even though that night he said it had from Toyota finance.
I have now learned this is known as yo-​yo financing, in which the dealer lets you drive off the lot without actually securing financing, and then calls you in later and jacks up the interest rate. Only a disreputable dealer would do this. Sami and Maita Toyota did this. Maita Toyota is a disreputable dealer. Don’t buy from them and don’t deal with Sami.

Want to ruin your day, go to Maita Toyota where you get your car back damaged and their response is, «we are not liable!» I took my car in for an oil change and two new front tires and it took over 4 hours. Then, when I got into my car there was a 7 inch crack in my windshield.
When I came back inside to tell them, they told me it was a rock chip and that they were not liable for it. I asked for the manager and had to wait another hour. The woman I talked with, Tami, was condescending and rude. She said they wouldn’t do anything about it. On the tech sheet that goes over your car, they marked windshield «green» meaning in good condition with no immediate repairs required. I brought this up and she still would not take responsibility for the broken windshield. She did offer to price out how much it would cost for THEM TO FIX IT. What a slap to the face comment that was.
I asked to speak with her boss, the director, but he was out until Monday. After 5 hours at the Service Department I had missed my afternoon appointments and had to cancel my evening appointments in the Bay.

Bought a new Corolla with extended warranty. I have brought my car in 2 times about the tweeter speakers in my car crackling with high pitched sounds. Have spoken with multiple staff about the issue and after all this mess, they still have the nerve to write a note about not being able to identify any issues. I understand it’s all business, but these crooks are not delivering on their part while my car is still under the 3yr/36,000 mile factory warranty.
My household currently has 3 vehicles purchased and being taken care of by Maita. From this last experience, I am taking my customer needs elsewhere at other toyota dealers in the near area. I refuse to give Maita another dollar.

Came in to check for a new Toyota Yaris and ended up driving out of the parking lot with a new 2016 Scion iA beautiful ride. Great customer service! I recommend this dealership!

My family and I frequent Maita Toyota for service and have never had a problem.
Today, we were able to trade in our vehicle and purchase another to better suit our commute and travel needs. We were helped by Dustin Clark with exceptional customer service and the dealership tolerated our 3 wild children really well.
We got a fair price on the vehicle we took home and would definitely recommend them to others.

I hate when I take my car for oil change in this location. The wait time is almost 2 hours for only oil change.

I went in today to talk to the sales manager again and that boy had no comment about his crappy service guys. He wanted to see the brakes and luckily the good guys at Econo Lube told me to take the brakes with me to show the sales manager what kind of work gets done or don’t get done at his shop. I showed him the brake pads and he wanted to keep them for educational purposes or for some other odd reason. He must not have been informed by his staff but I have documentation for every visit. Upon entering the sales office the sales manager did mention seeing the review and that I didn’t put in the review that I talked to technicians and employees at 8pm. I did talk to the sales guy at night about the brake issues and I talked to the shop supervisor while broken down on the bay bridge. I took the car in every Monday morning for the first four weeks. Then I took it in a couple times when the rear brakes were squeaking.
He told me he measured the brakes and they were in specification. I told him he needed to be fired. So, now the sales manager clearly saw that the first six visits at his dealership were due to lack of customer service, he had no comment. If you’re familiar with the «DUH look» then you can picture what his face looked like. Then he goes on to say he has no comment about the lack of service at Maita Toyota and finishes the conversation with Über said they are responsible for the vehicle and he is told not to do anything else about it. So what’s the status of the vehicle? No one knows? One star service again at Maita Toyota!

I purchased a 2016 Camry Hybrid, love the car and loved the service provided by the staff. Sales Rep, Kathy Conole was such a pleasure to work with!!! Tony Delgado, Sales Manager and Kevin Keon, Finance Manager were also great. I would recommend giving Kathy a shot to get you in the Toyota you want.

My review is for the SERVICE DEPARTMENT.
I was looking to buy a used Toyota from a small car lot and thought it would be a good idea to run it through the dealer before I purchased. I called Maita and I should have not even scheduled.
1) The girl who answered the phone and scheduled me was SO FLIPPING RUDE. She did that thing where she talked over me, didn’t let me finish any statements or questions because she’s OBVIOUSLY heard it all before and can’t POSSIBLY take the time to have a human conversation. I tried to asertain if I needed an appointment for a pre-​purchase inspection and she made a comment to the effect of «You can drop in but I can’t promise how long you’ll be waiting» so I made an appointment. Which brings me to my second complaint…
2) MY APPOINTMENT WAS USELESS. Why? Because I showed up and waited A HALF HOUR IN MY CAR for someone to even come talk to me. When they finally did, I had to wait ANOTHER 10 minutes to get escorted inside. At this point, we are 30 minutes past my «appointment» time. I called my husband to come pick me up and when I left, A FULL HOUR AFTER MY APPOINTMENT TIME my car was still sitting in line waiting to be checked.
What the heck is the point of me making an appointment? I feel like it’s just so they know how many people they can expect, but it has NOTHING to do with the customers time or convenience.
It took them another two hours to get back to me. Then, my last complaint:
3) The service guy calls me to say my car is ready and wants to go over the report over the phone, right then. Like… really, dude? I’m supposed to go over it on the phone with you right now? When I showed up, the dude was gone and no one could find my report AND when I asked questions about it, the service guy I was talking to had NO CLUE about the comments the mechanics made. And the summary I was given was missing TONS of information that, in my experience, most mechanics give you. I was shocked at how minimal the report was and I’m floored that they send someone to explain it to you who knows NOTHING about it. I can read it myself, guys! I don’t need some dude to read it to me! What a waste of time!
I don’t know why on earth I’d go through this again only to get piece meal information from someone who has no clue about whats going on with my car. I MUCH prefer to go to a smaller garage and have the person reviewing my repairs actually know something about the repairs and why I need them.
Overall, I don’t feel like anyone at Maita actually cared about giving decent customer service. It feels like a giant machine and they treat you like a number, not a person. I hated it.
Based on that one experience, I’ll probably never go back to them again (and they are losing out because I bought the Toyota and now I’ll need someone to service it!)

Just an update to my original review… I drove for MORE THAN A YEAR longer (and I do about 15K miles per year) on the brakes and rotors that Maita said I needed to replaced. And when it was time to get the brakes serviced, guess what? Yeah, no rotors needed to be done because I didn’t let the pads get down to metal. «#upsell

Sales:
— typical «c’mon, my friend» «just buy it boss» greasy sales tactics
— how many times can you tell someone you don’t want to buy a car alarm (4−5x should deliver the message, 2−3x if laced with profanity)
Service:
— extremely high labor rates ($ 137/​hr.)
— you don’t get to talk to mechanic (front desk middle man)
— extremely long waits for routine tasks
— alignment was not done correctly, had to pay another shop to re-​do
— courtesy shuttle is the only redeeming quality
Maita Toyota is a joke.

Review based on service only! The service department seems to be pretty busy given that said they usually great you as que comes up. Price of all services I can’t say is comparable to other service shops but it’s not too bad. Nice waiting area with wifi and a café. I can’t say I have been hassled by salesmen like some dealerships I have gone to just walking around the car inventory while I’m waiting for my car they will open them up if you want to look inside without making you feel compelled to be a customer.

Only came here for an oil change, but the service was excellent. The service attendant got me right in without an appointment and there was an a very nice waiting area with comfy seating and big screen TV’s as well. They told me to go over to the snack bar and that I got a complimentary coffee and danish while I waited. I was told 1 hr and 15 min, but the service was done in less than 1 hour and I was on my way. Easy peasy!

Short summary: VERIFY TWICE THAT THEY HAVE PARTS IN STOCK!
This is related to Maita’s service department — I got a recall notice for my 08 Tacoma (leaf springs), and I called Maita to see what I needed to do. They checked and said they have the replacement leaf springs in stock, and made me an appointment to bring it in the following Monday. I called back later in the week to inquire what is involved in the leaf spring replacement (I was going to add on shock replacement and alignment), and they then told me that they in fact do NOT have the parts in stock, and won’t for awhile due to a phased rollout of the recall. I would have wasted my time and used leave hours bringing my truck there Monday, paid for a rental car, then would have found out after the fact that they didn’t have the parts in stock. Unacceptable, I’m lucky I called them back.
To be clear, I’m upset because Maita was going to waste my time and money. I’m not faulting Toyota for the phased rollout, that makes sense, and Toyota is awesome for being so proactive with all these recalls — any other manufacturer would have just ignored it.

IF I CAN GIVE A NEGATIVE STAR THIS WOULD BE IT!!!
Came in for oil & filter change and engine oil consumption test (extended warranty) for a 2007 Scion TC.
The dealership damaged my car! The right side mirror cover! I typically give my car a once over before I drop it off at the shop. Inside and outside. Because this isn’t the first time something like this happened to me before. I washed my car on the same day after my visit since I learned while I was there they don’t give our car washes anymore. I noticed the cracked on my side mirror. (SEE PICTURE IN THE PHOTO SECTION.)
I get it… it isn’t their car so my car doesn’t matter to them.
Furthermore…
Around 90K, I’ve been noticing the last year that my car would be low in oil. I noticed no visible leaks. So, I just added more oil.
This goes on. So, when my next oil change, I asked my local mechanic (who was a former Toyota mechanic of 20 years) to check if there were other leaks.
He said that the valve cover gasket was experiencing a little bit of leak but nothing major. So, I told him to repair it anyway. (This info is important.)
After the valve cover gasket was repaired and thinking that was the problem, I still notice that my oil engine was dangerously low. I checked for myself after 2 or 3 months it was repaired. I went on Google and read that other Scion TC owners have had similar issues with burning engine oil.
To make a long story short, I later received a letter from Toyota Company (extended warranty) regarding the same issue. They recommend that I get an engine oil consumption test.
So, I scheduled that yesterday at Maita Toyota.
I haven’t been coming here because I have not had a good all around experience here the last few times I’ve been to Maita.
I bring my Maita Toyota coupon for oil and filter change $ 37 and a can.
My service advisor asked me if I wanted my coolant replaced since I was nearing my 100K mile mark. I agreed.
He returns with a price of $ 210 to replace my coolant. I told him, «Wow? $ 210 to replace the coolant. No, I change my mind.»
He says, «Oh, it might be lower.»
To which I replied, «How so?»
To which he said, «That’s just an estimate.»
To which I said, «It’s a routine service. Why are you giving me an estimate? Never mind. Just the oil and filter change and the engine oil consumption test.»
Maita Toyota would have had additional business from me, but I felt extremely insulted that this 20 something male service advisor was treating me like I’m an idiot maybe because I’m a female.
So, for 3 hours I waited for an oil and filter change and the first stage of the engine oil consumption test.
As I was paying, the service advisor told me that there was a level 2 leak (defined as require future attention) on my valve cover but they did the initial stages of the engine oil consumption test.
I just nodded my head. This tidbit was noted on my service papers. I didn’t tell him that I had my valve cover repaired less than a year ago because I thought that was the culprit of my problems.
After reading other people’s reviews on here, I am certain that he was just setting me up for future repair cost when I return after I’ve driven 1100 — 1300 miles.
This review are for the following reasons:
1) My right side mirror was damaged.
2) I arrived at 11 AM. There was no major crowd. It still took 3 hours for an engine oil and filter change and the initial stages of the engine consumption test (extended warranty).
3) The service advisor insulted my intelligence by giving me an estimate on a routine service to replace coolant of $ 210. Why are you giving me an estimate? Is that the price or not? It was arbitrary and marked up significantly just because I am a female.
4) I feel that my service advisor is setting me up to justify future repair cost that may not exist when I return after 1100 — 1300 miles. The problem he told me was already repaired a few months ago.
I am not returning here. I am going somewhere else!

Here’s the scam. They put out recall notices to get your car in their shop. Once you bring in your car for a recall quick fix, they upsell the crap out of you. They quoted me $ 1200 in repairs of this fluids and that fluids. They scare you with words like «heat» and «explodes» and «stranded» etc. Of course I declined. Imagine if your wife or any fool that doesn’t know anything, they would be scammed.
Scam.

I purchased a car here from Mike Boyd and the Finance guy he personally picked to try to upsell me warranty, alarm, etc. was Mario.
Mike is a no pressure type of salesman and that’s a nice trait to see BUT he and Mario messed up on my sales and finance invoice and kept pressuring me to give them all tens on their customer service survey. To which by the way I somehow miraculously never received! And no pressure sales style doesn’t necessarily equal to Honesty!
I called the General Manager Eric three times, left messages three times and he NEVER called me back. Therefore I will post my complaint here!
I will never return to buy a car from here again and strongly suggest you don’t waste your time or $$$$$ stepping a foot in their lot!

Hope the dealership get more transparent with ALL the details about the deal! before trying to sell you an ALARM that’s already installed! on the car OK.
