Jill is an absolutely incredible photographer, she is beyond talented. She did a newborn shoot of my daughter and I was truly blown away by the results. I will treasure the photographs that she took forever. Jill is AMAZING with babies and she’s super easy to talk to so the shoot is very relaxed and fun.
I would recommend Jill 100% and will definitely see her again for more photographs of my family. Could not be happier or more impressed with her work and everybody who has seen the images compliments them. Jill is one of a kind!

Jill can make the kids smile and parents relax. Now after 6 years of beautiful pictures/​memories I will never have anyone else do our photo shoot. I have four kids with the middle child having specials needs and a service dog. I have the most challenging family and somehow she get the shot that’s perfect. We are always truly having fun with her sessions, you get the idea. She the best!

Jill is terrific! I booked her for my headshot and didn’t realize the makeup artist had made an asymmetrical eyebrow and eyeshadow, making it look like I forgot to make up half my face – it wasn’t apparent in person but was very apparent on photography (which was beautiful minus the makeup issue).
Jill did an outstanding job of retouching the photos so that I wouldn’t have to go through the trouble of redoing the shoot, saving me a lot of time, money, and hassle – AND she didn’t charge me for it even though I offered to pay for her extra time. She’s truly a wonderful person and skilled photographer. The final outcome was natural and gorgeous!
She did the photoshoot using natural light in her airy and beautiful studio, and her down-​to-​earth demeanor made me feel relaxed and comfortable (I usually dislike having my photo taken). She comes highly recommended for good reason – I can’t wait to see what she can do when I get my makeup done by someone more experienced!

Jill is fabulous! My husband and I booked her for a newborn shoot. It was hard to convince my husband in the beginning, but he is happy with her work and he is very happy we did them! She is extremely friendly and nice and puts you right at ease for the photo session. She was also extremely patient with our baby (who would not go to sleep for the session) and was abl to get wonderful family shots in the meantime, work around that with some «awake» baby pics, and just kicked back and chatted with us during some downtime. She is an extremely talented photographer and knows what she’s doing with newborns. When it was time to go over the proofs, we liked every single photo and it was so hard to choose! If you are wondering whether to go with Jill and/​or take newborn pics, I highly recommend it. The memories and photos are priceless and Jill will do a fantastic job!

I was lucky enough to find Jill by just googling maternity photographer. I called her and we discussed a maternity photo shoot for the spring, as well as, a newborn shoot. She sent over clothing ideas and scouted around our neighborhood for locations. And that’s just the beginning.
Our photos were up and ready within two weeks and were more than we could have imagined. They were so beautiful and not just a few of them… All of them were!
Jill was on my list of people to notify once baby was born and she was able to meet us at home on the day we brought our son home. And those photos were just as amazing.
Now with a second pregnancy, there was no question we were calling Jill to do it all over again for us. She’s absolutely the best photographer and such a pleasure to work with. We have received several compliments on our photos and cards that we’ve had made and I always tell people, there great because of the photographer, Jill Carmel!!!

Jill really is perfect. Even when photographing our session with all three of our dogs in tow. She made us feel comfortable and natural. I love her style and colors. She made the whole process so easy that we forgot we had a camera pointed at us. The photographs we got back were priceless, she really captured us as a family in such a wonderful way. We would always go back to Jill for a photo session!

My husband and I booked her for our maternity shoot, and we had a great time with her. She is down to earth and makes you feel comfortable. Her ability to put us at ease and to capture the moment with natural light made our pictures turn out amazing!
When our daughter was born, Jill did her newborn shoot and birth announcements as well. She was so gentle with our baby and knew how to calm her down to get the best shots– she even wiped our baby’s bottom when she had a little accident =) Our bedroom was a mess (we took pics in there because of the light coming through the windows), but Jill angled everything so you couldn’t tell.
We ordered an album of both sessions and it arrived today. Craftsmanship and layout are on point. We could tell that she took time to make the album perfect.
We can’t wait to have her do our baby’s one year pic, and the rest of our big milestones. Love you Jill!!!

Jill is an amazing photographer. We have used her twice and each time she does an amazing job. It’s not easy to wrangle our 4 young kids, but somehow she manages it! We even threw her a curve ball most recently asking her to travel to lake tahoe, shoot at a new location AND added our new 6 month old XL puppy and she even got him to look! She does a great job with different ideas and a mix of posed and spontaneous /​candid pics. She is also very easy to work with! Highly recommend!

Prepare to unload your wallet because there will not be one picture that Jill delivers that you won’t buy! We hired Jill when our daughter was a newborn 5 years ago and she immediately blew me away with her professionalism and baby posing. I didn’t really know what to expect but when we were delivered the pictures I couldn’t resist but buy the entire package! They were so amazing that one of the pictures made it into Sacramento Magazine. Since then we’ve had her take family pictures and pictures of my two children. Jill never disappoints. If you want the best you must pick Jill!

I cannot say enough good things about Jill. We have used her for both our Maternity session & newborn session and have an appointment for our 6 month session in a few weeks.
From our first meeting we felt absolutely comfortable with her. She is so relaxed and professional and put us both at ease immediately. Neither of us had had professional photos done prior to our maternity session, and we were sort of nervous that it would be unbearably awkward being told to pose for photos in Old Sacramento. But we had no reason to be worried!
Jill is hilarious and made the session so much fun and not awkward at all. It felt like we were just hanging out with a friend taking pictures!
Jill’s approach to photography is amazing. She gave us ideas for general poses and directed us when we needed it, but her relaxed approach really allowed the essence of our relationship and personalities to be captured on film.
As far as the newborn session-​wow. Just wow. As a new mom I was of course nervous when anyone but me held our brand new son, but I did not worry when he was in Jill’s arms. She was so gentle with him and you could tell from watching that she puts so much love and care into her newborn sessions. Our son remained asleep the ENTIRE 3 hour session which I think can be attributed to Jill’s amazing demeanor. She really just exudes positivity and warmth!
Overall, I can say Jill is everything we could have hoped for in a family photographer and has provided us with beautiful photos that we will treasure forever. We are so excited for our sons 6 month session and will continue to hire Jill for any and all sessions we will need in the future even though we are moving a few hours out of the area– she is worth traveling for!

I used Jill for my maternity photos and my newborn birth announcements, both experiences were amazing! Taking photos at these two times of my life, especially as a first time mom, were anticipated with a lot of anxiety– but Jill was able to calm my nerves and my worries. She is not only professional but she makes even the most nervous person feel very comfortable, not to mention she was so great with my newborn! I even offered her to stay at one point to be my nanny, haha. Seriously.
I recommend Jill to anyone that asks who did my photos, but the wonderful pictures usually speak for themselves when people see them.

Jill is AMAZING! She’s very sweet and her work is art. She’s taken my head shots for work and she made me feel really comfortable. The moment that made me melt was when I became pregnant. She photographed my maternity pictures and my baby’s pictures when she was only 6 days old;) I would recommend Jill 100 times over. She’s sweet, talented and there’s a quick turn around on the pictures. She fills up quickly so as soon as you know you’re pregnant and want a shoot, book!

Jill took our family photos and they were phenomenal! We loved them. Jill is so talented and really took her time with our family. She was helpful with direction as to what to wear and where to do the photo shoot. She was also very creative as to what to do for each photo. The turn around time for the proofs was very quick and the order process was very easy. I would highly recommend her for any family photo shoot.

Jill came to my daughter’s home to take newborn photos of my newest grandson and our family. Jill takes her time, is patient, understands kids and really just captures your family’s heart and spirit. I highly recommend her. You will love her and her work.

Jill took photos of our two daughters. Jill’s pictures were amazing. The lighting and natural expressions she caught were perfect. She also suggested several different backgrounds in the backyard we were shooting in. She has an eye and knows what will look good.
The greatest thing was her ability to work with the kids. One of my two kids was being a total grump and didn’t want to have her picture taken. I wanted to strangle my kid, but Jill was unphased. I don’t know how she did it, but she managed to get great photos from my reluctant daughter.

We used Jill for our first ever family portraits. She is wonderful! The pictures were perfect– natural light and natural smiles on everyone’s faces. The proof and ordering processes were easy. Jill is so very helpful. We can’t wait to use her again!

We used Jill for photos of our newborn. Everything about Jill, from the experience of working with her to the finished photos was fantastic. She is professional but very natural and easy-​going, with a demeanor that puts you at ease. She was great with the baby and we felt totally comfortable with her in our home.
Jill used a lot of natural light and mostly uncontrived poses (a few were more «staged» but for an effect that was lovely in the finished product). She can get both mom and dad involved or focus more on the baby, whatever you like.
We were so happy with our photos. They actually make me tear up every time I look at them! And you can tell Jill really cares about her craft and is in it for the love. She has vision but lets the session unfold organically.
