OMG best food! Ribs are so good the meat just falls off the bones! Collared greens are the best I’ve ever had! Staff is supper friendly!

My friends and I came here to try the food. Next time, we will try and come at a not so busy time. Our food took forever to come out, and it didn’t all come out at once. I was informed this was because we were all on separate checks, which makes sense but didn’t make it ok. The food was totally delicious when it came out though, and our waitress was super apologetic. I would have given them 3 stars, but the food bumped it up.

I found myself here and didn’t know what I had gotten myself into. A few friends and I were down the street to do some go karting, but the wait was 3 hours and we didn’t want to go back all the way home. One of our friends took it to Unilocal and saw this place down the street so we decided to pass our time there. It was dinner time anyway, and the photos of their ribs had all of us salivating. This isn’t your normal bar and lounge serving average bar food! We pulled up in a small plaza of about 3 stores and from the outside it didn’t look too appealing but as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by smooth smooth music, the smell of ribs, and warm welcoming employees who were chatting it up with customers and radiating nothing but happy vibes. This place has a lot of character! It’s the kind of local gem that I could only wish I could frequent if only I was in the area more often. The two chicken wing flavors that I really wanted was the sweet & spicy and the smoked mesquite wings, but our server let us know they ran out of their house made sauces and the chef who makes them wasn’t there to make new batches. Even though I was sad, I also thought it was pretty cool that they didn’t want to make some random sauce to serve and instead kept it authentic by letting their secret recipe be made by the same people. We ended up ordering 1 full slab of ribs, order of hand battered chicken wings in buffalo and another in bbq with seasoned fries, and Philly cheesesteak w/sweet potato fries. The order of ribs comes with 5 sides. Yes that’s right FIVE sides. We ended up getting 4 mac & cheeses and garlic fries. Our food took about half an hour or so to come but honestly, we had good company and we were really diggin the music and everything about the place so the wait felt like nothing. Our server, I believe Jennifer, checked on us constantly, and she even let us know that one of our side orders of fries were taking longer because the chef didn’t like how the first batch a came out so they were remaking it. It really shows that they care about their food! Jennifer also let us know how crackin it gets on Sundays with their live music starting at 5pm… her advice is to get here no later than 4:30! Once our food came, we thought we were originally grabbing a quick bite, but found that we were actually in for an unexpected southern FEAST. From a first glance, the food doesn’t look like much, but once you take a bite in, you’ll understand. Those ribs are no joke. Seriously TENDERFALLOFFTHEBONE goodness and the smokiness is out of this world-you know they ain’t lying when they said smoked for 4 hours. The chicken wings were also amazing. They remind me exactly of home; battered to a crazy crispness just how we like it. They even held up their crispness even though they were slathered in sauces. I can only imagine how much better they would be with those two flavors they didn’t have(which is why I will HAVE to come back). All of the fries were perfect textured and hot and crispy as well. The ONLY downside would have to be their average Mac and cheese, but seriously everything else made up for that. It was definitely a surprisingly great meal(photos will not do justice because it is very dark inside). Will definitely need to come back for drinks, house special sauces, and more great music.

Came on a Friday night. Took a while to get the bartenders attention even when it wasn’t too busy, which is why my rating is a little low. But the music is great, so is the food. Drinks could be stiffer, but I’m a bit excessive so take that with a grain of salt. All in all, not bad.

Mac and cheeses watery with a paste of a cheese powder or something, greens wilted, cat fish no flavor. Cost me almost 20 dollars, I got sick. From lack of taste, i like the lounge, please change the mac and cheese dish. Please

My husband and I thought we would try this place out after reading the reviews. We went in for lunch and it wasn’t very busy. The first thing I noticed was the musty smell. I do understand that it’s in an old building, but it was a really big turn off. Despite that we did order food and it was very mediocre. I had the philly sandwich and it was good, but not great. My husband ordered ribs and did not like them at all. The two stars are for the bar tender/waitress because she was nice and attentive.

Previous visits here for lunch have been stellar; however Friday evening was a very different experience for my wife and I. We arrived shortly after 7 and the place was hopping! Good music playing and everyone having a good time, just what we hoped for. We seated ourselves at the only clean table in the place and proceeded to wait, like I said the place was busy so we were being patient. Almost 20 minutes later after watching the server walk by us twice without a word we gave up and left. I cannot comment on the food or drinks, both of which we intended to order. I had been bragging on the ribs to my wife for a while and she was anxious to try them(see my previous rave review), it was not to be for us tonight. I know they are really trying to get themselves established as more than just a local bar, but they really need to hire some help when it is so busy, and when your swamped a simple hi sorry for the wait would have made all the difference in the world as opposed to being totally ignored, sadly I doubt I will be able to talk my wife into a return visit.

Their chicken wings are the best! They are hand battered for that extra crisp. They also have music on Saturday nights and our waitress Lonnie was on it!

Great southern style food. The ribs fall right off the bone. The collard greens and garlic fries are delicious but the mac and cheese is pretty bland. The wings looked amazing! I’m definitely getting those next time. The drinks were good. I would give five stars but it took awhile for the staff to acknowledge us and most of them acted like we weren’t even there. The bartender was nice though.

Had the wings on NYE. Picked up my order and left. Wings were amazing. Especially since I am very picky with my chicken. The seasonings were great. Not to spicy and not to salty. I had the sweet and spicy. I would have appreciated more kindness from the front staff. It just doesn’t line up with how bomb them wings are. But I’ll be back and give them another try!

Good food. I had the chicken wings as noted by other reviews; they were delicious. I got a lot of food too. The price was fair for the amount of food I received. I will go again.

What an awesome venue! I came here with my family on a Thursday evening for my little sister’s pre-graduation dinner. The food was awesome. I had the sweet & spicy wings and the regular wings. The sweet & spicy wings were by far the best! I don’t enjoy«sweet & savory» treats, but the chef did a perfect blend of flavors that swept me off of my feet! According to my family members the catfish is on point and the gumbo was the best! The atmosphere is very welcoming from staff to patrons. We had a great time doing karaōke as well! Will be back!

A great BBQ find. Yummy ribs and brisket and super tasty mac n cheese. Not sure why it doesn’t show up when I search for BBQ but it should! The only downside is that because it is also a bar with TVs it can get pretty loud.

This place is a true diamond in the rough! AMAZING. The best wings I’ve ever had. Fun old school atmosphere, with great music and strong drinks. Everyone was so friendly, great service. We drove up and almost didn’t go in, do not judge this book by its cover… it’s amazing. Cornbread croutons are the bomb.

A great classic bar with good food, good drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. I really like the hand battered chicken wings, and the BBQ& live music on Sunday’s is really good too. Definitely a good neighborhood bar.

I would like to leave a review about how good the vibe was with great music and fellow respectable patrons and even a comment about how good the Cuba Libre was that I ordered. However, I find myself giving up here. After entering and taking a seat after a long days work I found myself waiting nearly 10 minutes before I was approached by the staff for a drink order. After ordering my drink and requesting a menu I found both in my hands very quickly. Upon receipt of the drink I was asked for my card and I said«I would like to order food as well» I was told«sure, are you ready to order?» To which I had to remind that I just received the menu and I’ve never ate here before. About 15 patient minutes later I came to the conclusion that I had been forgotten about while the bartender carried out conversations, not orders, with several other patrons. I finished my drink, brought my glass to the bar and then was told«oh I forgot to come back by I got busy talking» I explained much to the displeasure of the patron next to me who was apart of the conversations that kept me from receiving service that I was not interested in ordering anything further and would like to pay for my drink and leave. It was my second chance I was giving the business(the first time I tried out the business it was about 5pm on a Wednesday and the kitchen was closed) and I didn’t feel that my patronage was welcomed. For my bill I tipped 33% which is pretty much my standard tip rate. It’s too bad. I hear that they have excellent chicken wings. Maybe some time in the future I will give it another chance and be able to write a great review but I just don’t see that happening.

Had some great ribs, Mac n cheese just the other day really good chicken n waffles. Good prices on drinks to! If u go there late at night u can catch some cool jazz and oldies. They play hip hop and even have a DJ a lot of nights. I live just across the street so I’m glad to have a spot close by where I can grub, drink and watch sports!
