Need something to liven up the place! This was my second visit here at The Lodge and we were here to have a late dinner, party of 3. Arrived around almost 9:00p and the ambience was very dull. It was like can you just give us our food so we can go on our merry way. There were a party of about 10 young adults who only ordered drinks, they moved from occupying the fireplace area to the outdoor patio when the rest of their party arrived. Then a group of about 6 guys arrived and were seated next to our table. Our table was near the bar area, another party who sat on the lower level of the restaurant and a few patrons who sat at the bar section. There was one employee who played the role of hostess, server and the barmaid. If you’re wondering why I was observant(which I’m usually not) it’s because it took awhile for our meals to arrive after placing our order. The wait was about 20 mins long. Is that normal? I don’t know, maybe I was just hungry, maybe there was only one server, maybe there was only one cook that evening. I ordered the 10-oz rib-eye($ 16)… it was tasty and delicious and the meat tender… the wait was well worth it. It came with mashed red potatoes and beer gravy, also baby carrots, garlic cloves and Gorgonzola butter. The 10-oz steak was huge! I couldn’t finish my meal… hubby jR to the rescue and he finished it off for me. There were flat-screened TV’s throughout the restaurant showing some kind of sports game or sports highlights. Lights were dimmed in the dining area except for the bar area. Quiet ambiance for the most part. Maybe they need to bring our Unilocal group to liven things up again. .

It’s a decent place. I had the Downtown burger. I think it’s a tad pricey but they have a good selection, and a very good beer selection. Just like anyplace else, it’s all about what you order. Someone ordered the salmon. I love salmon. The salmon looked sooo tiny. Someone ordered the Philly Cheesesteak. It was huge. I was all about«Why didn’t I order a Philly Cheesesteak.» But then I remember. I do lettuce wrap. That isn’t a good venue for lettuce wrap. A burger is. Back to the burger. A lot of places don’t put enough bacon on your burger with bacon in it to be able to taste it. Not so here. It was generous, and not the cheap stuff. The patty didn’t come out of the freezer. The cheese was real, not some Velveeta like goo. Appetizers were creative. Like Bahn Mi fries. I’m not sure how you make the connection between carnitas style pork sprinked over french fries to Bahn Mi, but regardless it works. I didn’t try the fries. I know what fries taste like. Fries are fries. The pork and whatever sauce they put on it was excellent. I wish I could just get a whole plate of that. Be aware of the fact that this place is a casino. Gamble after you eat, not before, because that might affect how you are going to eat. If you win, you might order a main entrée. If you break even, you’re ordering a steak sandwich or a burger. If you lose, you’re stuck nibbling on an entrée.

This place is okay — mostly we came here because it was close to where we were staying… the Residence Inn. The food is pretty good, not amazing, but not bad either. We started off with the banh mi fries and the chicken wings. The fries were crispy and topping it off with vegetables and pork. The chicken wings were okay. I ordered the cajun shrimp pasta. The pasta was pretty good — to be honest, after the appetizers, I didn’t have that much room for the pasta. Pasta itself was aldente and the shrimp were covered in cajun seasoning and blackened. Couldn’t finish it, but it would have definitely been a great tomorrow dish(if I wasn’t eating out already all the time). For dessert, we ended up ordering both the brownie and chocolate chip cookies with ice cream. The chocolate chip cookie was good — ice cream on top was great! The brownie wasn’t good — don’t order that. Protip: pasta and the brownie!

Sadly the Lodge has become just ok. When we 1st started coming here it was always good but the last 2 times we’ve gone, it was just ok. We have too many choices to eat at a place that’s just ok.

Love coming to this place! They have a decent beer selection, full bar and fantastic food! Happy hour is my favorite time to come. But I honestly just love coming to this place in general. I would absolutely recommend the sliders(pulled pork or jalapeño)

Good food and friendly service, even though it could get really slow sometimes. The wait for food is typically long so be prepared. The restaurant closes at 10 pm but you can still order a lot of items from the bar. Highly recommend their Angus sliders with those amazing fries, cheese quesadilla and wings. Don’t recommend phở, chips and salsa. Good spot for relaxing with friends after work.

Came here to watch the Kings game and we have not been disappointed! We had the honey BBQ wings and fried green beans for starters. Wings were good but the green beans were off the hook yummy. I enjoyed a bacon cheddar burger and they cooked it perfectly. My sweetheart had the asparagus chicken. He enjoyed the dish but commenter the rice was perfect. Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is they only have one waiter and service has been a bit slow.

This is at least our third time here. Food is good, drinks are ok. Service is consistently horrible. We’ve sat at the bar and at tables and either way, we can’t get service, can’t get our check and don’t always get the correct order. I ordered a potabello and when she was serving me I asked what it was and she said it was a portabello. However, it was obviously sliced meat with melted cheese. I had to ask if she was sure and she had to take it to the back to confirm. It’s not that difficult. Time for a new happy hour place.

If you are driving on Highway 50 on the way perhaps on the way to Tahoe or back and looking for a quick and affordable joint that’s not fast food, then this is the place for you! That and the fact that Happy Hour is seven, yes I said said seven days a week, you cannot go wrong no matter the time you happen to walk in here. And since it’s attached to the Cordova Casino they never seem to be too busy, at least when arrived for a quick bite on both Saturday… and Sunday. We actually were hungry as we stayed in the area for a Unilocal Event held over Halloween weekend, and as a group of friends stayed in a nearby hotel, we desperately searched for a local reasonable Happy Hour joint to enjoy some bites. It turns out the same venue that hosted the event later that night had the best(and quite frankly the only) Happy Hour deal on a Saturday evening in entire the area! Who knew? In perusing their menu, their beers that come under the Happy Hour menu did feel somewhat limited and since I wasn’t a huge beer fan I went with of course a glass of red wine. But there were a number of options when it came to bar bites during Happy Hour, the options we went with were the All Beef Hot Dog Served with Fries, Cheese Quesadilla, the Pizza Slice, and the Chips and Salsa. Everything tasted fine, serviceable at best, the prices were great and service was good. My advice, skip the pizza, you’re better cooking something from your freezer. The Happy Hour prices on the booze was the real bonus, with the cocktail, wine and beer prices, you can’t get a deal like that anywhere else! I wish the menu we had this weekend, was more exciting, looking at older(by a few months) they had potstickers and egg rolls on their Happy Hour menu. Looking even further back they had even more exciting things once upon a time. Guess timing is really everything. Hopefully some of those things make a comeback! Later that evening we came for a Unilocal Holiday event and they gave us each a ten dollar gift card to use on site. So of course, the day after the party, since we were staying at a nearby hotel, where else were we going to go before heading home? We had gift cards to use after all! And the crew was really awesome about us using them a day later too! Now on Sundays, the buzz was good with not a lot of people buzzing and with all of the multitude of TV’s were turned to every Sunday football game in site. As for the menu, they tend to exclusively serve their Breakfast Menu until 2pm, while for me nothing really intrigued me, so we kindly asked if we could see their lunch menu(it was 11am after all) and they graciously obliged. I had to get the Cowboy Burger topped with bacon, deep fried onion strings, cheddar cheese, mayo, and barbecue sauce, that wonderfully cooked piece of meat served along side a heaping side of fries only cost 12 dollars, and was worth every bite. The menu when not Happy Hour can be eclectic, as my friend got Phở of all things. So you see you can eat your Phở and Burger at the same time! If you’re ever driving down(or up) Highway 50, then this is the place to stop for lunch or Happy Hour. It’s in an unassuming card room and they never seem to slammed, so they can serve you a good solid meal at an affordable price. And how many places like that you can find while taking a driving trip that isn’t a fast food joint that you can say that about? I know I’m coming back one day!

I had no clue where this place was and it was a little tricky to find because it is inside the Cordova Casino. All of the big signs say Cordova Casino. All of the Google/iPhone maps direct you to Cordova Casino. After driving in circles in the dark I finally found one smaller sign you can’t really see that says«The Lodge». Well it was worth it! Our waitress was awesome. Attentive but not annoyingly so. The happy hour house wine was good and the fried green beans were even better! I look forward to coming back for a meal. For anyone hesitant that it is within a casino– you don’t even realize you are attached to a casino. There is no smoking in the casino so you don’t have that infiltrating over into the restaurant. There is one main entrance but it is just like walking right into the restaurant with a card room off to the side.

This was my second visit to the Cordova Lodge via a Unilocal event. Both times, I have enjoyed myself while socializing with friends. The venue is spacious with a nice atmosphere that offers a pleasant dining and/or cocktail experience. There are a number of flat screen TV’s positioned around for those who enjoy the sports bar environment or whatever other programs that might be on at the time. The bar area accommodates many patrons along with the adjoining lounge and dining room. We have sampled some of the food during our events such as «build your own taco» bar, chicken skewers, rice and stuffed mushrooms. Everything was delicious and cooked with just the right amounts of seasonings. The drinks are always mixed the way I like them, not too strong, but not weak either! There’s no skimping on ingredients here. On the other side of the restaurant is the Cordova Casino, where guests who like the thrill of gambling can enjoy some card games of chance. Everything is run in a professional and well organized manner. The staff are welcoming and friendly and did a great job through the stressful ordeal of serving large numbers of hungry and thirsty Unilocalers. They presented us with a fun and attentive party experience that made me feel comfortable enough in wanting to come back for other events or as a patron. I look forward to returning again soon and plan to bring friends along! A big thank you to the Cordova Lodge for providing us with some wonderful and memorable events for our Unilocal archives!

Any place that has Happy Hour(HH), especially on a weekend scores with me! We called nearby restaurants and none offered HH, even Hooters(who wants to go there anyway) only offered late night HH. I’m not sure what late night even means in Rancho Cordova lol. Quite a selection from their HH menu, and wines are $ 4…come again? Sure, I will take the house cab. Since we were staying at the Marriott, we literally could walk back. Plenty of parking in their lot and street parking. Staff are friendly and attentive. I was amazed at their phở, the broth was tasty with no MSG. It was refreshing when the rain came down hard the next day. Hubby enjoyed the chicken fingers, reminded me of fish & chips. They offer Vietnamese-American fare… that’s PHO-NOMENAL! =) This place is cozy, relaxing, and all the patrons watching sports on numerous screens played nice. I will definitely come back to this lively joint when I find myself in Rancho Cordova. ‘Til then ~ cheers!

HAPPYHOUREVERYDAY! Okay, this is definitely 5 stars in my eyes! Happy Hour is: all day on Sunday & Monday– Friday happy hour is from 4 – 7 and 10pm-12pm You know, I probably shouldn’t be giving away this secret. But, I stumbled onto this nice little restaurant for a Halloween event. This restaurant was located next to our hotel and was very convenient as its open 24\7. Normally, I’d not glance into a casino looking for good food, but I found it here. The breakfast is from 7am– 11am and the menu offers limited choices, but the quality was good. I’m not going to lie I was addicted to those fries! OMG! What do they put on them? I wanted them for Happy Hour, Breakfast and dinner. HAHA! The prices were great, the food was amazing. We didn’t expect it to be as good as it was. We were pleasantly surprised. The quality was fabulous and the price was reasonable. Dinner choices were also fairly limited to burgers-and-fries-type meals, a limited build-a-meal Asian menu(available only on request apparently), and«flatbread pizzas» that were really just thick crusted small pizzas. The burgers are huge, a bit greasy in my opinion but very good. Although I am not a beer drinker I couldn’t help but notice that the bar features 100 difference beers on tap. I’m not much of a gambler, but the casino was neat and clean. Several large screen TVs with all of the games on. Our server Courtney was amazing! She continued to check on our table and was very pleasant. BIGTHANKYOU to Lindsey at the bar she did an AMAZING job keeping us happy at the bar area. The service at every visit has been excellent; the staffs are always smiling and happily accommodate modifications to our menu choices. Yes, there is a small casino there(no craps or slots) but it was done in surprisingly good taste, with a bit of a ‘lodge’ feel. Nice selection of craft beers, and the food was decent. Great location, I definitely recommend coming here if in the area! You will not be disappointed!

We went here for some happy hour treats since this was the only place in the area that had happy hour on a Saturday. The are real good and reasonably priced. You can get a happy hour beer from a selection of 5 different beers for $ 3 and you can get a hot dog and fries to go along with it for $ 5. Not too shabby of a deal. They have outstanding selection of sporting events being broadcast through out the place on 8 different TV’s(a sports fanatic’s dream come true). The staff was friendly and ever patient with us as we looking at the happy hour selections and trying to select something cheap… lol but did not want to fill up for we had plans to attend an event later in the evening which was going to be serving food as well. We had such a good experience that we went back the next day and had lunch before parting the area. They do a brunch up until 1:300 — 2:00 then they start serving their entrée’s and other menu items, but they were very accommodating and actually let us order some items that were not necessarily brunch related. I ordered the chicken fingers and fries. OMG… the chicken fingers were actual breast tenders breaded and cooked. they were awesome the seasoned fries are very addictive… cannot put them down. My wife had the Beef Phở and was pleasantly surprised at how well it tasted for being a Sports Bar. This place is also tied to the Cordova Casino which is a card room, we did not do any gambling on this trip… lol We will be back for sure when we are in this area again…

Came here with a Unilocal Elite for the Halloween Hellraiser event. I have to say I was disappointed in the organization of the event. We waited for over 15 minutes in the drink line(per instruction from an event staff) to then have another person tell the line no one needs to be in a line just go to the bar. The food was good– solid taco bar but no tongs or sanitary serving utensils to avoid people getting their makeup or germs all over the chips for the taco bar. Other Unilocal Elites were commenting on this as well. Most of the staff were super friendly which was great. The costume contest was a bit disappointing since it took a good 40 minutes for our photo to even get posted. All in all the event was nice and I’m looking forward to to attending others, just had higher expectations for a Unilocal Elite event, as we know, all attendees will be Unilocaling

Thank you to the Cordova Lodge staff for hosting the Unilocal Halloween Event. This was my first time checking it out since I am not much of a poker player I never saw a reason to check it out. The staff here is extremely friendly and attentive. I have to give a shout out to the bartender dressed up as buzz light year, she was amazing, got our drinks quickly without any issues and super nice. The food provided was also pretty good, we only had a chance to sample the taco bar but it was solid. I can definitely see us coming back here to try the burger or other items from the main menu. Happy Halloween!

I have no idea how this place gets this kind of rating on Unilocal! the building itself is quite nice inside, the parking in the rear though smelled of sewage. My wife ordered the chicken and it arrived looking amazing, she cut some for me to taste immediately and it was so lemony it was inedible(although not for our dogs, they loved it) The carrots were tender and tasteful and the mashed potatoes were smooth but lacked flavor. I ordered the downtown burger(jalapenos and garlic aioli) The meat was severely dry, the jalapenos were on the very spicy side, and there was no sense of any sort of garlic at all. According to Unilocal the cowboy burger is good, and I should have ordered that, but I am in doubt with how dry that meat was. No way we will give it another chance to find out. Service was alright as they sat us in the bar section, the bartender was quite attentive though.

I tend to visit here often for lunch, since the location is near my office. The atmosphere isn’t a typical casino & that is refreshing! The décor is pleasant w/the outdoor/lodge appearance. The dishes I’ve had here has always been the delicious & well portioned. I didn’t give 5 stars because the wait staff service isn’t all that great. Be prepared to not be on a time limit, as you will get ignored. Once you sit down be prepared to order your meal right away when someone finally comes to get your drink order. Then your beverage won’t be refilled, you’ll have to wave down for a refill & even for your check.

Not living in Rancho Cordova I had bookmarked this place as new restaurant to try. Driving up I realized that this place is the Cordova Restaurant that I reviewed 4 years ago. Nothing has changed except the name. Same great beer selection and same great burger. Ordered the«Downtown»,(bacon, havarti, jalapeño, garlic aioli) on a massive sourdough bun. Perfectly cooked medium and the bitter in the havarti nicely balanced the spice of the jalapeño. The onion rings were decent and plentiful.

Came here for lunch with friends and I wasn’t really that hungry so my girlfriend and I decided to just share a Philly sandwich. I’m so glad that we did as the sandwich was huge!!! We also had some soup which is okay but it’s a little too salty for me. The ambience is nice and cozy. We didn’t check out the casino and the bar but it looks decent. Overall the place is okay, the serving is big so the value is there.
