Digital Dentistry of Palos Verdes

Just started with the practice in August. It has been a great experience thus far.
The staff is always pleasant.
The Doctors seem very genuine, caring and thorough.
The hygienist is very kind, gentle, thorough and explains everything she’s doing through out the visit. She is there 4 days a week so it’s easy to schedule your next appointment with her.
I definitely recommend Digital Dentistry to anyone looking for a great office.

This place is a miserable mess. I went in yesterday, I haven’t been fortunate enough to go to the dentist in years, so I was extremely excited.
When I went to the office, everything was a pleasant experience. The dental assistant was nice and the dentist was good too. He was a young guy Dr. Daryn.
The dental assistant took pictures and everything was flawless. Dr. Daryn went over the procedures and he made it very clear what I needed to done.
This is when the story takes a turn for the worse. I met with the «Treatment Coordinator,» Sharon. She seems so bubbly and nice at first. She started telling me of all the work I need done and she explained that I have a PPO plan which is why I’ll have to pay a large amount out of pocket. She explained, it will cost around $ 7,000 to get everything done.
I was a little hesitant in believing her in the first place because she didn’t seem to have any solid facts or solid pricing. But I thought whatever, I’ll call my insurance company tomorrow.
Fast forward to today, I call my insurance and I actually have an HMO Plan NOT PPO. I also found out that the most expensive copay I have is $ 95. Not the $ 500 Sharon quoted me yesterday. When I told my insurance company even they laughed and suggested I find another dentist.
After I spoke with the insurance, I called Sharon directly to clear up the fog. But wait! She is just plain old shady and there is no clearing the fog with her. She said, «the insurance doesn’t know what you need done so they can’t help you, I have to help you.» She also said, «there’s nothing straight forward in the insurance business.» Oh really? Because when I go to my doctor I have a copay and guess what Sharon? The payment is pretty STRAIGHT FORWARD.
I asked her multiple times for the procedure codes so that I could call my insurance but she would not provide them because I’m pretty sure she though I was a stupid young girl who wouldn’t do my homework. I told her that I felt she was being dishonest.
And her Award Winning suggestion was,” Well I think you should find another dentist.” And by award winning I mean, THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD. Go Sharon Go!
I then proceeded to explain how disgusting that type of statement is when speaking to a customer. She simply, hung up the phone in my face.
I called back and boom straight to voicemail all because she is an unprofessional coward who was too afraid to provide me with her bosses contact number or email to complain. I’m actually glad she didn’t provide it because now I can save all of you from ever experiencing the horrendous behavior of Sharon from Digital Dentistry!!!
Seriously I’m taking the advice from the insurance company and finding a new dentist and changing my primary care provider effective November 1^st.
Save yourself the time and money, Digital Dentistry is a complete scam. They will try their best to rip you off and then try to act like they are trying to help you. Sharon is especially good at this!
Please believe this review and do not trust these people in your mouth! They can’t even put there money where their mouth is!!!
Save your money and go to one of the other thousands of dentist in the Los Angeles County!

I have seen and received care and treatment from several dental offices from Los Angeles to Chicago, Illinois and this one is a keeper! The entire staff is friendly and caring. Every hygienist I have seen was great. I have been a patient for six years. The dentists I have seen have all been professional, caring, and honest. The office is always very clean and it is beautiful. They will help you keep your teeth top notch and work out the best treatment plan to fit your needs. Give them a try! :o)

I went in for a last check up cause I moved across coubtybfir college. I had some discomfort from a possible cavity, they claimed I had nothing there but ibhad a problem else where. Now three weeks later I have a full blown cavity they said was fine. They tired to up sell me to something I did not need rather than help my discomfort. If that’s not the definition of greed, idk what is. They also solicit 5 star review here on Unilocal for discounts. Not really sure of the legality of that.
TL;DR pricey, greedy, will upsell/​tell you to do things you don’t need and solicit good reviews. Just go somewhere else.

This group must need to pay for that big, expensive office because they are all about DRILL-​AND-​BILL! Front desk staff is largely clueless which makes it easy (guiltless) for the staff to claim they don’t know why you are there and proceed to pile on as many services as they can. Almost all of the services pushed on me were largely unnecessary. Even the initial paperwork wants you to rate the top 3 reasons you HATE your teeth/​smile and what can they do to «help you» and the terrible situation you are in. Really? I had no idea how to answer that since I was just there for a regular 6 month exam and cleaning. An hour later, with no physical contact by a dentist or a hygienist, but 45 minutes of digital xrays and a one-​on-​one with a high pressure lady who quoted me no less than 10 different prices for work I «needed» I was told to schedule another time for a cleaning. At the cleaning I was pressured into getting a «deep clean», requiring anesthetic, which I refused, and at the end was told I needed the deep clean every 4 months or I «would lose my gums.» I don’t claim to floss daily but I do brush EVERY morning and night and have been told by many other dentists I have good hygiene and really healthy teeth, especially for having every tooth filled (bad diet as a child) and being 55. Protect your wallet and your health — stay away from this group!

Great service, was in and out with my teeth cleaning, x-​rays and consultation. My dental hygienist was very gentle and thorough.

Modern attractive office in a major shopping center. Not the cheapest. Always feel they are upselling. No complaints about the care.

Hygienist is gentle and quick but thorough

Totally had my first visit back to the dentist in what has seriously been forever! This place was definitely impressive with all that digital technology and provided phenomenal service and interaction. They provided me with a variety of beneficial treatment options and helped me with a game plan to kick start my mouth back to health! See you guys again on Friday! :)
