AK movers did a terrific job with my move. Booked with less than 2 weeks notice, they packed everything and moved me 300 miles, same day. Very fair price. Friendly, helpful service with great attention to detail. I highly recommend them.

This is my second time using AK Movers and once again they did a fabulous job! They were professional and courteous. Wrapped everything nicely. Nothing was broken. They worked really hard and I have absolutely no complaints! I have already referred them to two of my friends.
FANTASTIC JOB!

Probably the best movers in the DC area. Moving start time was at 8:00AM, literally arrived at 8AM on the dot. Very friendly guys, were all business and very respectable to my wife and I. They were all very attentive and careful with every single piece of furniture and item. They made sure we understood what they could bring and could not bring onto the truck and packed it safely. During the move, I was extremely impressed by their efficiency. They really do not waste anytime and that is what i was looking for since I was paying by the hour. I would definitely use this company again due to their professionalism, their care of your belongings and by their work ethic. Save yourself the time in researching more. If you are shopping around for an affordable moving company in the DC area like I was, use these guys.

I had a great experience with A.K. Movers (November, 2015). They were on-​time, quick (entire 1-​bedroom apartment to townhouse move completed before noon), and moved everything without damage. Their pricing was very reasonable, and the estimate was 100% accurate. I’d recommend you give them a serious look if you’re doing an MD-​DC-​VA move.

Art and Alex were very quick and helpful. The price is extremely reasonable. They were very prompt and knowledgeable. There aren’t many moving companies that I would use again. However, AK Movers is not one of them. They are definitely my movers of choice and I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others in the future. Thanks guys for helping my move go seamlessly!

Just moved from Bethesda MD to Rockville. Can not be more happier. They moved 3 bedrooms townhouse in lees then 6 hours with 3 men. Paul, Alex and Sergey just did fantastic job

They got the job done and did it for less than competitors quoted me. People I know who’ve used them have been happy. I’d use them again.
That said, there’s room for improvement. For one, they tried to impose a 5% credit card surcharge on me and wouldn’t take a check. If you book them, make sure to discuss payment method in advance.
Also, their communications/​listening skills could stand improvement. They ignored me when I told them how to get to the destination and then lost tons of time trying to just use their GPS. They did not use the packing supplies I’d purchased and instead used (and charged me for) their own. These issues cost me money.
I also suggest you make sure to understand in advance what items (e.g. electronics) they prefer not to handle. I suppose I saved money moving those myself. They will empty your bureaus rather than move them full (as other companies do). That’s neither here nor there, but I wasn’t expecting that.

This company was wonderful! They were careful, but quick. I went through our 4 level split and empathized which items were extremely important. Our regular item were treated fantastic, and our really important ones were treated even better. Our 17^th century desk was wrapped to perfection and they had all hands on deck when moving it. The movers were friendly and helpful. They even gave me advice where to find a missing part (it was missing before they did the move) for one of our pieces. Highly recommend this company.

Very happy with their service. Two guys moved me from my 1br apartment to a 2br. They were professional, polite, and quick. They packed everything up in two hours and unloaded it in one.

I have been shopping around for movers, and obtained multiple quotes — AK movers beat everyone else hands down, their price was very reasonable. When it came to the move, I was impressed by their attention: they visited me twice to get an exact count of the boxes to be moved: once at the beginning of the packing process, and then again before the move. Their quote was accurate; there were no surprise last-​minute charges. On the day of the move, they were very efficient, courteous and careful — nothing got broken, no walls were scratched. Moving out was quick, moving in was quick and just as efficient.‘
I am very pleased with the quality, price and attitude, and would definitely recommend AK Movers for both local and long-​distance moves.

We used AK Movers to move from DC to NYC. AK (owned by Art) was cheaper and faster than every large national moving company. Art and two other guys got a two bedroom moved into the truck in an hour flat. The next day, two guys met us in NY and had everything in our new apartment and reassembled within two hours. Nothing was scratched or broken. I would use them again and recommend.

Here we go again! AK Movers had moved me when I thought I may be transferred for my job. Paul and Alex were excellent. Paul and Alex were as fast as lightning and I had trouble keeping up with them. They were quick but expertly careful and professional. I would highly recommend this company if you are looking for superb service and expert movers. These guys are truly special.
Now I have been transferred back to Virginia so Art will be hearing from me very soon! As soon as I find a place to move :).

I’ve been researching moving companies for an upcoming move. Since AK Movers had such great ratings here, I researched more. Can’t find any reviews on Angie’s List. Oddly enough they have an A+ rating on BBB. I wanted to check one more place, Maryland Assessments & Taxation, to verify that they had the required licensing to do business in Maryland. They don’t, it was Forfeited (by the state for unpaid $) in 2007. I wouldn’t hire them but, whether you do or not is up to you. Good luck.

You really aren’t very bright are you? If you click on the link, on the right side you will see where it states «Licensing & Insurance Status» as INACTIVE.
And when I first spoke to you about not finding that you were registered in Maryland to do business, I asked if you used another name. You said NO but clearly after more research I found ABO, Inc. And I don’t think it matters much how damn wonderful you are, someday something will happen and a customer will get screwed since you are not operating legally.
Do not call my home again, as I will consider it harassment and will take what legal steps I need to get it stopped.

You should have a lot of confidence when using AK Movers as they are reliable, professional, and know how to get the job done. I have used AK twice over the past 7 months and have been very impressed by the quality of service provided. Both Paul and Art are great to work with. Highly recommend!

AK movers quit during the middle of my move. I hired them because of their reviews on Unilocal.However, they turned out to be the most unprofessional movers I have ever met. I would give them 0 stars if I could.
AK movers lack skill in moving and ultimately was unable to my armoire out of my apartment. After arriving, they moved some of my furniture into the truck. When they tried moving my large armoire, which admittedly was difficult to move out of the doorway, AK movers refused to move my stuff.
AK movers stated that unless I paid extra for bubble wrap and padding to be used on all of my furniture, or unless I write out a statement waiving any and all liability and sign it, they would not move me.
I informed them that my furniture was not fragile and did not need extra protection, except for the china cabinet. I also told them that I moved all of the furniture into the apartment with just regular moving blankets. Then, they took my furniture they had moved into their truck and loaded it in the service elevator and left.
The owner did not have the courtesy to explain or tell me any of this himself, and when I called him after the movers left, he blamed everything on me and then hung up on me.
I was supposed to be out of my apartment that day, but forced to stay a few days longer because AK movers bailed on me. I hired Mashav Relocation to move my belongings. They were very professional, quick and overall awesome at moving. Completely different from AK movers. Mashav Relocation moved my armoire without any problems by opening the closet door, which AK movers completely failed at doing.
Very disappointing movers and the worst moving company ever.

AK Movers had the best combo of both great prices and great reviews. I sent an initial quote request via email and the owner, Art, got back to me via email and phone promptly. I chose AK Movers after doing extensive research on Unilocal and getting price quotes from a number of companies.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, I had to change my move date twice, but Art was flexible about it. Pavel and Roamn showed up on time and immediately got to work. They moved much quicker than I expected, and we actually had to end up waiting at my new building for the loading dock to clear out from the previous resident’s move. Once the unload began there, they were just as quick and helpful in more than just loading items. As a matter of fact, Pavel has an eye for furniture arrangement and was able to suggest a better option than what my boyfriend and I had previously planned with the odd shape of the room.
All in all, I’m more than satisfied with AK Movers and would highly recommend for anyone moving in the area.

I love AK Movers. I used them to move from Annapolis to Poolesville (60 miles). Both homes were 5 bedroom houses, so their was a TON of stuff. AK was so professional. They showed up on time and did it for a fraction of the cost that other moving companies did it! They are also very flexible with schedules.
My parents moved shortly after us and they were so impressed with our experience, they used them also! They also said that their team of movers were professional and very energetic!
Lets be honest. moving sucks! and they make it a lot easier :)

These guys have done four moves from me in 2008, 2012 and 2014. I’m very pleased with the service. Reasonable prices, they show up on time, and move everything fast and efficiently. All the movers seem to be Russian — they don’t speak much English, but then, really, the last thing I want is a mover who wants to have a conversation!

Preparing for a move with a full time job is difficult so at a certain point you are in crisis mode. Well, these guys were able to help, quickly and cheaply.
They were flexible about our appointment so I could easily move it. They arrived on the earlier side of their window but it was perfect. Despite my not having everything in boxes (trash bags for clothes may work great when moving yourself but not for movers) they quickly grabbed everything and we got out of my apartment in two hours. They drove carefully and were able to cart everything up my stairs in no time.
Most important, the proprietor was a thoughtful nice guy eager to help. I greatly appreciated their flexibility when others couldn’t make it and their prices were fantastic.
