Focus Movers

This is my 2^nd time using focus movers. This time was even better than the first. Tony and Chris were fantastic. I told them «i want to do as little as possible.» They responded stating «that’s how it should be!» They worked efficiently and diligently… even put my bed frame together. Such nice guys in addition to being very professional. It was again an ease to get the appointment as well. Highly recommend.

My move involved a single unusual item that necessiated detailed logistics and special care. On my first call to Focus Movers, Jason walked me through all the details to a «T», which involved a freight company and synchronizing the delivery and pickup. Above and beyond the call of duty, Jason agreed to speak with the manufacturer of my wood burning stove and chimney (over eight hundred pounds total) to nail down the specifics of what would be needed for pick up at the dock and delivery to my residence. Total professionalism. At that point, Jason lead me through two scenarios to offer me cost options. Although he left the decision to me, I opted for what I could see was obviously the best solution. When my stove was delivered, the three men moving it reflected the professionalism that I had experienced over the phone with Jason. They went out of their way to make it a «complete move», which is to say that they not only carefully removed the 500 lb. + stove from the moving crate but worked with me in placing it in just the right spot on the hearth. Also, Focus Movers has an ongoing business relationship with ABF, which was another selling point for me. Great job guys!

These guys did wonderful for our move! They are hardworking, they don’t complain and out stuff arrived in great shape. Very professional, and the rates are competitive. I highly recommend them!

Very disappointed about the service. They wanna charge me 360 for 1.5 hours of work. On the phone the guy told me the rate is 100/​hr and it takes 2 – 3 hours to finish the work. They only took a little bit more thank 1.5 hours and then told me minimum is 3 hours and 60 for service. Will not choose them anymore and will not recommend to anyone else! They charged me 260 finally.

I had a move from first floor to storage and these guys were good.
Had another more complicated move and the jury is still out… working through problem resolution with furniture.

The original movers I hired forwarded my information to Focus Movers. I spoke with Jason and he told me how his guys were fast so that’s what I expected. When the two guys arrived everything went into slow motion. There was no sense of urgency what so ever. Mind you they arrived around 6:30 in the evening and I was moving almost 45 min away. It took like 5 min for them to find something to hold the door open. They were bringing one item out at a time, which was annoying to watch. I watched one guy use two hands to carry a 2 pound mirror, seriously. Then bringing down one cushion seat at a time. At that point I started moving my furniture to the truck. When we arrived at my new home I told them to put everything on the bottom level and I would figure out everything later I was not going to wait another 3 hrs for them to do an hr job. None of my items were damaged and they did a good job organizing everything in my house but I would not recommend these movers to anyone. I was charged for 5 hrs which really should have been 4 hrs but I guess I paid an hr for how slow they were moving.

The guys from focus movers did a decent job. They arrived basically on-​time and handled all of our furniture and boxes with proper care. Their challenge was made more difficult by the fact that the movers who loaded our truck initially (we drove our own), packed it in TIGHT and deconstructing it was like playing reverse Tetris. But they did a good job and worked hard!
The only suggestion for improvement would be to ask that the movers read labels more carefully. Most of our boxes were clearly labeled as «Kitchen» or «Bedroom» and some of our boxes ended up in different rooms. Not a big deal but just a suggestion.
Their pricing was very reasonable for labor-​only assistance and so I’d definitely recommend them or use them again.

Very disappointed that I didn’t check out Unilocal BEFORE I hired them. Jason, the guy on the phone is amazing but that’s where it ends. I hired them for full-​service (this included packing — pics below of all the stuff they left). Also, one guy showed up wreaking of alcohol and the other two were not fit enough for the job. It took longer, cost more and was incomplete. In trying to rectify this guess who has not returned my calls Jason. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!!

I called on a Saturday morning hoping to find someone to help me move some furniture around in my home. It was about 2 hours of work and some heavy lifting as furniture had to be moved up and down several levels. The person that answered my call said same day service was available and scheduled someone to arrive between noon and 2 p.m. I was called at 12:15 by the guys doing the move to tell me they would be there at 1:30.
The 2 guys who showed up were professional, courteous, responsive and HARD WORKING! These guys were careful yet focused on getting everything done quickly. Nothing was damaged and proper care was taken at every step. They were polite and I basically had to make them take a break to grab some water.
I plan to use this company on my upcoming move this year as they did a fantastic job. I took the time to call the dispatcher I spoke with earlier to tell him his guys were incredible. I rarely rave about service, but these guys were AWESOME!
I give them my highest rating and think you can’t go wrong utilizing their service. WELL DONE FOCUS MOVERS!

Look this company up under their York headquarters for the real deal. They are fantastic.
Efficient, timely, professional, fast. If you want a good door to door moving company, this is the one you want. They won’t mess around with your time or your belongings.

The good:
— Called the day before to confirm
— Rates were as promised
— They were on time and friendly/​professional
— Hard working — one guy was so sweaty from the work he looked like he just got out of the shower (also a negative — my stuff had sweat on it).
The not-​so-​good: (NOTE: I’m sure I underestimated the amount of items I needed to move which probably caused most of this)
— It took way longer than estimated
— Wasn’t told they only accepted cash until payment was due. Luckily I planned to pay cash anyway
— The guys told me they wouldn’t charge me for the time it took to go to the gas station to fill up their tank but they did
— My boyfriend and I had to help them load and unload — 2 guys clearly wasn’t enough help
— They didn’t bring their own water — I think they went through almost a half a case of water that day. Not a problem just thought they would be better prepared as professional movers.
— The truck had the company name of «Metro Pro Movers» I believe — a little confusing
Overall they guys were helpful and professional — no real damage other than sweaty boxes that I noticed. It was a hot August day and they were good sports about moving me into a 3^rd floor walk-​up.
