New Avalon – A Day Spa and Salon

Avalon day spa has closed, wanted to let anyone looking for me that I’m across the street at phenix salon suites!

If you’re looking for an amazing stylist then go see Shay! She’s been doing my hair for over 5 years and I couldn’t be happier. She always has great ideas and sees my vision with new trends. I am always wanting something new and she never fails to surprise me with an even better version of what I want. Go see her and she’ll take great care of you. Plus it doesn’t hurt that she’s pretty to look at

I have never had so many compliments on my hair! Shay is amazing. Color, style crazy good. I have had several different people apply straightening treatments on my hair and never in my life have I had one last so long appear so natural as this one. Highly recommend! :-)

Five stars to Tonya McNamee! She is a great hair stylist. She does beautiful highlights, and has more than fair prices. I went to her on a Groupon and will keep on going to her at full price. Well worth it and such a calm atmosphere.

WARNING! I received a gift certificate for $ 180 at Avalon for my birthday in Febuary. I’ve always loved the service, quality, and cleanliness of this Spa so I was excited to receive such a wonderful gift.
BUT it was taken over by new owners, and the new owner (Carol) refuses to honor any gift cards, or certificates from her own Salon… She said she wouldn’t honor it due to it being issued from the previous owners but would give me 20% off future services… Who does this… Urgh!!!
I tried to explain that being a previous small business owner myself, it would be to her benefit and business to honor all of Avalon Certificates — gift cards… Carol disagreed with my suggestion and told me she couldn’t and wouldn’t honor any of them…
Just be informed & For warned.. :(
Terribly Disappointed is an understatement

WAXING REVIEW ONLY:
Service is terrible. I got a wax and I had an appointment at 6:00PM they called me to move it back to 6:30 because she was booked. I got there at 6:30 and had to wait until 7 to see the waxer.
It took her almost 45 minutes for a brazilian… I usually prefer someone who is swift when doing these types of waxes. Kinda like pulling off a bandaid. The women who did mine was so slow, it was like a slow torture for 45 minutes.
And… she double dipped the wax stick which is just disgusting and usually indicates that I am NEVER coming back.
HAIR:
My hair stylist works here, I have followed her from salon to salon where ever she is renting from. Her name is Sonya and she is the best! If it was not for her I would not step foot in this place again.

5 Stars to Shay, she is amazing, I have been going to her for over 3 years now. Shay is so good I have referred 6 people to her and all have had fantastic service. Thanks Shay see you soon
