True Rest Float Spa

Perhaps my husbands experience was an anomaly — but he was not able to relax at all… well — that’s not entirely true… the moment he would relax and close his eyes, the clanging/​banging of the weight machines from the fitness center next door would come through the walls.
When we let the gal know before we left, while a halfhearted ‘im sorry’ was thrown out, it came hand in hand with a suggestion to book again for a later appointment time. Really? To us that said — «I know your first experience sucked — but hey, come back & spend more money… it *might* be better next time.» You’re kidding, right?
Really disappointing experience for him — and a big disappointment to spend the money & gift this to someone only to know it wasn’t enjoyed.

This is the second time I’ve been here and it is an interesting and wonderful experience with a helpful, knowledgeable, and awesome staff. The environment is well kept and inviting so that you feel relaxed even before the float. This is a must for those who deal with certain chronic pain conditions. At least worth a try. I know I’ll be a repeat customer.

This experience was one of a kind I must say. We were greeted by the friendly staff which was nice. They are very welcoming. We arrived early, I must say which is rare for me. Im always on my time.
They asked if we wanted to wait in the Oasis Lounge to relax being that I was early. and have some Orange Blossom tea, I was down. Already feeling this place. Excited to get started.
What to expect: A short 5 – 6 min intro to the founder and benefits to this session and what will take place. Must say started to get anxiety but my daughter talked me through it. Honestly I was doing the most, maybe.
Video is over. The courteous staff guides you through the facility. So your comfortable with the facility. You go to a spa room where your briefed on ear plugs, a petroleum rub for cuts or scrapes, asked to shower, the facility provides shampoo, conditioner and a shower gel, as well as a very thick, lovely, white towel Bring a wash towel if you’d like I did. Body lotions, blow dryers are on site too.
You have 5 MINUTES to get showered before your session starts. You make it work. .
Now it gets real. You have a 5 minute relaxing intro music to get you relaxed. In your pod you have a floatation neck pillow that I really liked try it. I liked positioning my arms up above my head, seemed to relieve neck pressure and relax better. Arms felt heavier to my sides. You have your choice of color in your pod as well to accommodate your mood. RELAX now let science do them. I really did try to force my arms down to see if I could. lol.
Staring at the Pod for so long or not so long I eventually drifted off to sleep unaware. I was SO relaxed, you know when your arms or legs twitch… yup happened 3 X. Now I’m up. Thinking … How cool is this. !

Following my session. I swear I felt ever so good, energetic and If I could have sold tickets just on my experience alone. There would be a HUGE waiting list.

Wasn’t sure what to expect, I will say that at the end I felt completely relaxed and rejuvenated. It did take me some time to get comfortable though. It wasn’t until the end (last 20−15minutes) that I was able to really relax. My hubby and I booked another session as I think you need more than 2 times to really get the full experience. Overall enjoyed myself, felt relaxed after. The oxygen bar is not worth the money though, seems like a cheap knock off of other oxygen bars I’ve used. The scents were weak and could barely feel anything coming out. It was free the first time so it didn’t cost us to use it. But I wouldn’t pay for this particular service. Also it would have been nice if the tea was warm. But I still enjoyed my «iced» tea and water in the relaxing room. Can’t wait to go again and I did book another float.

Came here with a friend and had no idea what to expect, sure I goggled «floating» but was in awe of what MY experience would be like. Staff was professional and friendly, the relaxation video in the beginning is a little too long for me (20 mins) but it did the job. A bummer about the location of that relaxation video room is that it’s located right outside of «freshen up» area where they provide blow dryers, cotton swabs, lotion etc. (you can hear the dryer while on that room) :(when you get into your private float pod room the floors are super slippery so be careful! I had a few cuts on me so the Epsom salt ate that up and managed to get some in my eye but the pain went away lol, the float experience itself was awesome! I felt like I was weightless, out of sight out of mind completely in tune with myself. I felt energized but ready for a great nights sleep (which I had indeed). At the end I tried the oxygen bar, the hot tea provided and was given a little gift bag with lavender salt for home. Overall awesome experience I will do it again!

I really liked doing this. The rooms are really clean and I loved the showers. There is an oxygen bar afterwards that you can enjoy. It was a unique experience that I would do again.

Although not for me because it makes me feel sea sick my husband loves it. The facility is so BEAUTIFUL and I love everything about the place except the float part but that is just me, and I’ve tried a few times. If you can do it the benefits are great! Good luck, wonderful place!

I have gone to the float spa about 5 times now. The experience always leaves me feeling refreshed. Without a doubt, this is something everyone should experience at least once. You have to go with the right frame of mind though. Try to forget about what’s going on outside the pod. The orientation video is very helpful for getting ready both mentally and for preparedness.
I have been using meditation techniques while in the pod, and I think I actually fell asleep last time. Not sure if that’s good or bad…
As for their customer service, the staff are friendly and accommodating. I had a mix-​up with payment that did take a long time to be resolved. I corresponded with Gizel, the owner and manager, and she was in the middle of opening two more locations, so it’s understandable. Eventually, Gizel was able to get everything resolved to my satisfaction, so thank you, Gizel.

If your looking for some relaxation this is the place. The attendant was very welcoming and full of information. First timers watch a short video, and tour. I wasn’t sure how I would like this since I have a fear of water. Deep water. I was surprised how well I handled the floating and relaxing. I closed my pod and kept the inside light lite. I used the inflatable head rest to hold my head up cause I didn’t want my ears in the water even though I was wearing ear plugs. The music played for about 10 mins then went off. It was me, myself and I to relax. I got out after 40 mins, showered and blow dried my hair. I noticed how my shoulder was pain free temporarily. It felt good. I would recommend trying this place it’s quite the experience.

This is my first time floating and it was amazing. I don’t know if I actually fell asleep or what but I felt fantastic! You must arrive early for your first time where they will explain how it works. Pretty simple– you shower in your in room shower, ear plugs if you’d like (I did and the sounds of my breath actually were pretty relaxing) you hop in and can shut the pod or leave it open. I shut mine and felt no claustrophobia because the ceiling is high. The salt water will definitely point out any cuts you may have but they provide Vaseline to put on any before hand. You may keep the light on or go totally dark. The pod is really easy to open and you are only in ten inches of water. They recommend really clearing your mind so if it starts to wonder count your breaths. It was so cool how you just floated so easily– it was pure relaxation. I did the hour which was the perfect amount of time. After you shower and relax in the lounge with an oxygen bar (free first time) and tea and water. I really want to do this again! I had the groupon as a gift but they offer monthly packages too.

From the moment I walked in, to the moment I walked out, the host was nothing but friendly and accommodating. The place is impeccably clean and the whole experience is very relaxing.
It was my first visit, so I was asked to arrive about 30 minutes early to get the forms filled out and watch an introductory video about the floating experience. Once I was in the float room, I took a quick shower and began my float.
The actual float is very nice. The water in the float pod is warm, but not too hot. 45 minutes passed by fairly quick, but I still enjoyed it. After the float, I showered off all of the salt water and went to the lounge area and had some tea. There is also an oxygen bar that some people were hooked up to.
If you’re looking to escape your busy life for an hour, I think this is a great place. You can’t beat the Groupon deal for this, and you’ll feel sooooo relaxed afterwards.

This place was a great spa to check out at least once because it’s true that it does give you ultimate relaxation. When I entered, Harold greeted us right away and went over what we were about to experience in our spa treatment along with a few other guests. Since this was our first time, he took on us a tour of the place and brought us to a room to watch a short video. The video talked about what to expect, what to do and not to do while in the rest spa. Once we were done with the video, another young lady that worked there showed us to the rest spa room and explained how the spa pod works.
She then placed all of us in our individual rooms to begin our spa treatment. First they ask you take a shower which is actually pretty spacious and they provide the shampoo, conditioner and the body wash. They say to take another shower afterwards as well. It took me a bit to relax but immediately I started to float, took a couple deep breaths and before you know it, I was in such a relax state. They play music about 5 – 10 minutes to start and the light automatically turns off in the room. You can close the pod or leave it open. You also can control the light in the pod. You have about 45 minutes of floating in the spa and then they turn back on the music 5 minutes prior to the end of the session to lightly wake you up to stretch and be ready to exit the pod.
After you take a shower, you walk into another room where you can try their oxygen bar to breathe into and sip on water or warm herbal tea. There is also a station to blow dry your hair, provide q-​tips and lotion. All of us came out refreshed. My wife absolutely loved it too as we were there to celebrate Valentine’s Day!
I would highly recommend this place and will be doing it again. Great service and overall experience of relaxation and zen feeling overall.

Floating is about sensory depravation. Having no sound, feeling (Water is at skin temp), sight, and hearing for an extended period of time causes your brain to slow down and enter an awesome state of meditation/​reflection as you «float» and (SHOULD) come out extremely relaxed.
This place doesn’t understand the first thing about floating, and is just a chain. This makes it more sad, as you’d think they’d understand the needs of Customers looking for an experience like this.
I combined a Groupon and first time Customer deal (~$ 20 off) to get a 2 hour float. They give you 30 min extra in between because they only sell 1 hour packages. The 30 minutes is free because it will sound like a high school just got out of class (All the other Customers blow drying hair, talking, slamming doors, etc). When I set up my float, I let them know I was an experienced floater, so of course they put me in the 5^th room that is right next to a gym — The other side is a pizza place. During my 2.5 hour float, the outside lights in the room came on 5 times, taking me out of the float experience each time, and wondering if someone came into the private room each time. Then I’d just wait the 5+ minutes, staring at the ceiling for the lights to turn off.
Then there are the gym noises of someone dropping weights about every 5 minutes throughout the entire float. The owner let me know «They are using the equipment improperly». I guess I needed to get out of the pod, walk over to the gym and ask if they would start using the equipment the right way?
They also offer a free oxygen bar (Normally $ 10) which didn’t work. It did when it was just me, but a 2^nd customer came to hook up to the 2^nd tubes and cut off any oxygen to my hoses. The attendant said «Oh, I’ll have to check that» and then left the room for the rest of the time I was there without fixing it. Got about 2 minutes of this «relaxing» experience.
I let the front desk know about my HORRIBLE experience, and they said they’d move me to a different room next time (For around $ 180 for 2 hours next time? No thanks) and then tried to sell me the monthly package, since they know I’d love to do this again. (WTF?).
I did email the owner, he offered just a free 1 hour float in a different room (You have to know to specify NOT to get the NO LIGHTS NO NOISE ROOM to get an actual float experience apparently). The owner admitted there was a known electrical problem, but thought it would be a great business decision to still sell floats at full price.
He offered a free 1 hour float (½ of what I paid before) and said his Roseville manager would reach out to me the same day, since he was having a meeting with her the same day. I waited 4 – 5 days (Fail again) and asked if I should be waiting for a response, and then he asked for my contact info (More fail — You have it, and are sending me emails…) and then 2 days later a manager emailed me, only to ask when to set up my 1 hour appointment. No apologies or concern. So much fail.
This place doesn’t understand what floating should be, and I’ve decided against taking them up on the offer.
I could have spent the $ 100 at the next door pizza place (Lots extra to buy rounds for strangers at these prices) and would of had a more fun and relaxing time. Save your money and go somewhere else that isn’t a chain and without the noise and distraction. There are few other places around Sacramento that I suspect didn’t make a business decision to move next to a gym and pizza place.
Oh yeah, it’s also $ 3 more for a towel, since the $ 79/​hr to float in a pool with gym weights slamming around and lights turning on throughout the float isn’t enough.
The worst part is that I’d gladly pay the price they’d set for a multi-​hour session if they actually could deliver on being a float center, but they are way off the mark. Time to find somewhere else that cares.

As a mom to an energetic toddler, I’ve been crazy tired lately and was researching ways to help combat it. I came across an article on float therapy in Sports Illustrated and after watching youtube videos about it, I thought i’d give it a try.
I. LOVED. IT!
You float for 45 minutes and prep for 10 before and 5 after but the 45 minutes felt like I’d been at rest or meditating for at least an hour. The days following my session, I felt energized and ready to tackle anything.
The staff at TR were awesome and friendly and the spa itself is beautiful and very clean.
I highly recommend checking it out and they even offer specials for 1^st timers or you could try finding a Groupon for it as well.

This place was fantastic! I came here with a living social coupon. A friend of mine got it for me, due to a lot of sleepless nights and stress, she thought it’d be a wonderful idea for me to go. Well I went.

Got bored
Which the video does tell u that you may get bored. But I got bored at the very end. Which was okay.
I sat up because I got bored and then the music came on.
But the best thing is. I’ve been sleeping at night. It really does allow u to find your center and relax!
I wish it wasn’t so far. I would go back regularly, like once a month or so.

Floating has been on my bucket list for a while, so I was stoked when a friend shared a Living Social deal with me so I could try it out at a discount.
The verdict?
This place is magical.
I had no idea what to expect going in for my appointment. The front desk had me watch an introductory video (which gave a very helpful suggestion to count breaths while I’m relaxing during my session), and then the helpful front desk employee gave me a tour and showed me how to operate everything.
And then the magic began.
Both my first and second time, I counted to 300 breaths before my brain truly let go. But even with the mental cogs turning, my body was completely at ease, and my chronic stress left my upper back and shoulders.
The last 10 – 15 minutes, my mind completely let go, and I floated in and out of sleep.
Once the wakeup music started, I exited out of the pod, showered off the salt, and floated to the post-​float room (recovery room? return-​to-​earth room?), read others’ reviews, drank herbal tea and tried their oxygen bar.
So blissful.
My first experience was enough to return for a second float, and my plan is to start their monthly float program (something that they didn’t even try to upsell, but I want anyway).
I’m ready to go back just writing this.

Well I went back in after several months and I’m glad I did. I saw a lot of positive improvements over my previous post.
IMPROVEMENTS
The check-​In and out is still only being done by one overworked person… But I am told they have a new hire starting Oct. It is part of their overall plan to move some rooms around. (See photo). Yay! Badly needed.
It appears they turned the temp down in the pods– no longer stuffy when closed! It feels like the warmers turn off when float starts. Of course, the water temp is cooler this way and cools slightly below skin temp by the very end. But if you’re still you will not notice it much. And being able to close the lid makes for a much better sensory experience.
STILL CONS
They still charge extra for towels. Or they’re supposed to anyway. I get the impression they may not be sticklers about it. But still, just provide fluffy warm towels already! A wet salty towel is a bummer to carry around. It’s an easy way to make the experience more luxurious.
The noise is still a potential issue. I was in room 4 and it was perfectly quiet. My friend was in room 2 and she had some noise issues. Didn’t seem to bother her excessively but it was a quiet Sunday night. Might be a bigger problem during peak hours in the other businesses.
Overall I would recommend giving it a try! I, once again, sleep like a baby afterwards and feel absolutely fantastic!
