I’ve been seeing this doctor for several years, or I should say that I’ve been seeing his PA because it is nearly impossible to get an appointment with him. On my most recent visit, I scheduled an appointment at 2:00, which is their first appointment following lunch. I had just changed insurances so I was advised to arrive a few minutes early to complete some paperwork. When I arrive the office was locked up tight. After waiting for 10 minutes they finally opened except that only the staff for another doctor were in the office. I asked where Dr. Curits’ staff were and I was told they were in a meeting. After waiting 30 minutes I inquired again and was told they were still in a meeting. Why would you schedule appointments at a specific time and then proceed to have a staff meeting at that time while your patients are waiting on you? That’s very rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate of people’s time. Unfortunately it seems to be a common philosophy in the Medical profession that patients can be made to wait for extended periods of time regardless of their appointment time as if the doctor’s time is more valuable than anyone else’s. Fortunately for me I am a PPO patient so I can go anywhere and I will go elsewhere due to this experience. I feel sorry for the HMO captives.

I have seen this doctor many times over the past few years as we deal with a mystery disease, complicated by heart disease which has led to bypass surgery. His diagnosis is always right on the money. What he can’t deal with gets a recommendation to a great specialist. I cannot tell you how many times I have been thankful for his diagnosis and treatment plans. He takes so much time with his patients that he is often running behind. So, be prepared to wait when you arrive for your appointment
