This was my first time getting wood from them. The service was simply outstanding! We needed someone to stack the wood for us. Many of the places I called wouldn’t do it; others wanted to charge too much. I’m always leery when dealing with someone for the first time but they exceeded my expectations. The wood burns great and the price is reasonable! I highly recommend them. Great people.

I see you have once again asked what you could do. I mentioned to the person on the phone hat what upsets me the most is the fact that the truck was not big enough to hold proper amount of wood. How many customers have you shorted without them knowing. You could check every delevery with that truck and refund them. That would be a start!
Follow up to comments made. Please I did measure the truck and when I asked the lady on the phone even told me that you stack the wood over the truck because it’s smaller than the measurements you mentioned. Which by the way is illegal to drive with an uncovered load in CA on the freeways. And yes stacking the wood on pallets would have been nice or maybe covering it which you didn’t do. It did rain that week which is no excuse. Your job is to provide dry firewood. You should know what to do when it rains. Don’t blame the weather for your shortcoming.

These guys sell great wood at a great price, aged and ready to burn right away.
If you have room to store it, this is where you want to buy. Charcoal is great as well.
Delivery, stacking is extra but worth it.

Prior to getting my order from BB farms, I had a bunch of problems dealing with other firewood vendors. They couldn’t give a date, wouldn’t answer the phone, wanted money upfront (and then didn’t deliver!), etc. File it all under «pain in the ass». BB Farms was a bit more expensive than most other places, but absolutely worth it.
Service was Flawless. They communicated efficiently, scheduled for a 2hr block on Wed morning, and per my request, showed up early. Wood was moved and stacked and they left no mess behind. It was all like clockwork and I might not’ve been as impressed except that every other vendor I’ve contacted was a huge hassle.
Product was Flawless. I ordered the «Pizza Cut» almond firewood. Pizza Cut means that instead of large pieces, the wood was split a bunch more times; this means I can stack 20 small pieces in my firepit and get a instead of 4 massive pieces that won’t light. Wood was seasoned and burns great. Wood was clean; no dirt. I had measured out ¼ cord and ended up with about 30% more than expected (possibly due to the extra Pizza Cut splitting). And as an unexpected bonus, I got a huge sack (like 50 lbs) of kindling that was left from the splitting process. Wood lights well and burns wonderfully with plenty of flame and no smoke.
I live in the city and have an average sized firepit in the back. If I have people over on Saturdays, I like to stack it silly full and get a raging fire with flames shooting 8ft out the top; it makes for an impressive spectacle. After half an hour, it dies down a bit and there’s more heat and less flame, great for marshmallows. In another half-​hour, it’s a bed of coals 12 inches deep. The coals are hot enough to grill steaks (best charcoal I’ve ever used).

Great customer service and outstanding firewood. The man that delivered took the time to clear a path along side the wood pile in the driveway to prevent anyone from tripping. This is the second year I’ve bought firewood from this company and couldn’t be happier!

Very good wood. Very good service. Very nice people. Decent price, though not sure if it is the cheapest once you add in costs for delivery and any stacking you might want; that said, they do mix in ¹⁄₃ oak, where some competitors that seem cheaper are actually giving you only walnut and almond. Oak is usually a more expensive wood, so I think the prices are about the same for the value in the end.
I’m happy with this purchase. They even threw in a huge bag of kindling at no extra charge, just as a thank you. And also gave me a couple pallets so I could stack the wood off the ground. The driver also taught me how to stack it on the pallets so that it would be stable at several feet of height. (I decided not to pay the extra $ 35 for stacking and just do that myself.)
I built a great fire last night. Smelled great, toasty warm, and very little popping. Only one of the logs popped any, actually. I got a half cord, so it will probably last me through the winter, but I will definitely be a regular customer from here on out. Next time I will probably pay the $ 35 to have less labor to do myself. It took me an hour to stack everything, and I make more than $ 35 per hour, so wasn’t the wisest decision in retrospect.

wow, what is with people today! MY order was in and I was told I will receive my order on Tuesday! then the boss of the company told the person I was working with on the phone that it is to far to deliver for just a ¼ cord of wood! If I get a whole cord they would deliver! Richmond to Hayward! 45 min away! OMG that is so far away! Are you kidding me? The gentleman on the phone was very nice! They do charge for delivery, so I don’t understand the problem!

So I just order a ¼ cord. This company was the only one that answered my call and was able to get me wood within 2 days. Plus, super nice and customer service by phone was great. I’m hoping the wood will burn nicely.

We just got a cord of almond firewood delivered to our house in Menlo Park. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Incredibly pleasant, responsive people to work with. The firewood is fantastic — burns hot, uniform sizes, clean (not buggy or dirty). Truly a five star experience!

Up until now, we’ve always used Nero’s firewood… but someone told me about Bear Bottom Farms and I was game to try them.
Their prices were slightly better than Nero’s but their service was significantly better. I had order stacking and their driver didn’t just try to dump the load and stack it any-​old way they wanted to (which had been my experience with Nero’s…repeatedly) he actually pulled right up and unloaded each piece into a cart and stacked it perfectly to my requirements. Great attitude!
AND…they had forgotten to put the kindling I ordered on the truck before it left their facility… so, one of the guys who works in the office actually personally dropped it off on his way home that same night!
A lot of people in my area love Nero’s but I just got sick of their attitude and having to manage them every step of the way during stacking. Bear Bottom Farms is my new firewood provider.

While I use Unilocal all the time I rarely write reviews unless I can just rave about a business.
Bear Bottom farms is a stellar firewood supplier. After TWO years of calling firewood sellers on craigslist only to have them either tell me that they can’t drive their trucks in Oakland (what?!) or just flake completely, I decided to call someone who was professional enough to at least have a website and some references.
Not only were Marianne and Don both helpful and delightful to deal with, they actually stayed in contact with me, stuck to their schedule, and thanked me for my business! Imagine that!
Their delivery guy pulled his huge truck right up to the curb in front of my house with no problems. Though he had to carry the wood up a flight of stairs to the stacking rack, he was pleasant and professional and swept up after unloading and stacking.
The only reason i dont give Bear Bottom the full five stars is that they are kind of expensive. That said, I’d rather pay more and actually HAVE wood than pay nothing and get nothing.
I will DEFINITELY be a return customer.
