To ensure a successful installation you will want a technically competent professional that helps you select the window and installation method that best solves your problem, meets your budget and projects the image you have of your home.

Our goal is to provide you with all the information to ask the right questions as you interview prospective installation contractors. We hope to have the opportunity to visit with you to learn more about your needs and provide you with a complimentary quote that meets your budget.

We carry all the top brands including: Milgard, Marvin, Andersen, Amerimax and Simonton just to name a few. We install wood, vinyl, aluminum, fiberglass and composite windows, bays, bows, garden windows, patio doors and French doors. We also sell and install entry doors in wood and fiberglass. We specialize in both retrofit and new construction installations skillfully installed by our own crews (no sub-​contractors). We also offer window/​door related contruction which would include: new openings, headers, cut-​downs for egress, cut-​downs from windows to doors, stucco patches, and painting of windows, doors and trim.

History

Established in 1972.

Established in 1972 by Mr. Lee Taylor, A-​Taylor Made Window manufactured and installed aluminum windows he had designed.

Steve Kenyon purchased A-​Taylor Made Window in 1986, upon Mr. Taylor’s retirement. Steve graduated from Golden Gate University with a degree in Business Management and had worked for IBM nearly twenty years, with half of that time as a System’s Engineer, installing Construction and Manufacturing programs for smaller companies in the East Bay. In 1989, A-​Taylor Made Window became one of the first Bay Area companies to fabricate and install vinyl windows. By the end of the 1990’s, as a result of the rapidly changing window industry, A-​Taylor Made Window discontinued all manufacturing and expanded its window contracting to include multiple brands of windows. Cathy Kenyon joined the company in 2003, after a decade of working as a dental office manager. Cathy is the focal point of all contact with the company from the initial phone call through scheduling.

We were moving into a home in Moraga that had an existing window next to a sliding glass patio door and wanted to replace both with a 4-​pane sliding glass french patio door. We didn’t know where to start, and a lot of companies we contacted wouldn’t do any permit work nor do the construction work to fit in the door. Our initial consultation with aTaylor Made was reassuring — Keith let us know that they’ve gotten permits before in Moraga (which is known for a complicated permit process), and they have a construction crew that does all the work we need, no problem. In addition the quote came in well below another quote that we received from a company in Pleasanton where the guy was asking me to go to city hall to retrieve the floor plans, get the permits myself, and do some of the work required to pass inspections. They took care of scheduling the measurement with my agent while we were closing escrow on the house, let me know when they had received the permit from the city of Moraga (about a week) and when we called to ask the status and ask that they install the door before we moved in, prioritized our install to the week before our move date. Their team showed up promptly, protected our new floors from damage, and completed the work in 2.5 days. We called them to address a few minor things and they promptly addressed those as well. When we had the Moraga inspector to do the final inspection, he said «this is some mighty fine work you guys had done here.» They even adjusted our final cost after we called to let them know that a couple of things that were included in the initial estimate ended up to not be needed (install a new header, minor electrical work). We wanted one area to be patched and textured after the job was done that was missed, and they sent someone over within 2 days and he adjusted one of our doors so that it was sliding super smooth. I highly recommend this company and will definitely call on them again for any other window/​door projects that we need done.

From initial estimate to technical measurement to final installation, the company reps and workers were great. Constant communication, first class workmanship, great product — all at a fair price. Replaced all of the windows on an older home. The difference in appearance and comfort is amazing.
The installation was done professionally, clean-​up and care of the house was first rate. Can’t say enough about the work. Extremely pleased with the final results.
If I were to ever replace windows, A-​Taylor Made Window would be my first call.

So thrilled by the great new windows which I had installed yesterday and today by A Taylor-​Made Window.
The two guys who did the installation, Hank and Gerardo, were really nice and helpful, with great attention to details! (I think they also appreciated that I had lunch delivered for them both days! :))
I have a 1922 Craftsman style small bungalow house in Oakland, moved here 15 years ago, and should have replaced the windows then! They were VERY old single pane aluminum windows, and to have the new double-​pane windows today is awesome!
The original salesman I worked with, Dave Buller, was fantastic. He really helped me to understand all about new window options, and what was possible within my very limited budget. I was so confused about offers from big national companies, and his knowledge was extensive.
Cathy and Steve Kenyon, the owners, were very helpful and communicative all along the way.
I strongly recommend this local company!

This review is long overdue, as we had our work done awhile ago. However, with the recent El Nino rains, I can say with 100% certainty that the work done by A-​Taylor Made is first rate. They took the necessary time and effort upfront to ensure the specifications were correct, so everything was done correctly upon installation. I would absolutely recommend this company to any homeowner. Happy in the Hills of Berkeley where the wind and rain hits hard!!!

I really enjoyed working with A-​Taylor made window.
We redid a poorly installed French Door with a sliding door about six months ago and just getting around to writing a review.
They did the work quickly and on time. Kathy is great at customer service and worked with us to make sure the job ran smoothly and according to our specs.

Why are you still reading my review? If you need windows, call these people and be happy. I’ve used the A-​Taylor Made team 3 times in the last year and have not had a single issue with them. They always show up on time, do what they say they are going to do and do it professionally. As someone who hires a lot of contractors, these people are a blessing. I call them, tell them what I want and I know it’s going to get done. Seriously just call them already. Cathy, Maria, Steve, Bill, Dan and EZ are great at what they do.

We selected A-​Taylor Made Window after interviewing many window installers over a period of two years. Steve was the first person we contacted, and in the end the choice was clear — we went back to Steve and didn’t look back for one minute! Steve and his entire staff (office personnel and all installers) are the nicest, most responsive, and most helpful people one can humanly expect. They are generous with their time, professional in their approach to installation, and courteous. And above all — trustworthy! Our project was relatively large (37 windows!) and we had installers all over the house over several days. Not a single thing was missing or misplaced. They protected our floors and furniture, covered everything of value, and cleaned the premises at the end of each day. As expected with any installation of this magnitude, and given that the house is over 77 years old, there were some unforeseen issues that have crept up during the installation. A-​Taylor Made addressed each and every issue to our complete satisfaction, and without a fuss. We would recommend A-​Taylor Made Window to anyone without hesitation.

This Unilocal review is specifically for the experience we are having with Steve. We originally hired him to complete our windows in 2012, and they still are not finished. He inconsistently sent workers out to work on our house, which pushed the completion date further and further out. They still have not washed our windows, we still have large hand prints on our high windows. They incorrectly installed window trim that they were not familiar with and it became warped and began to peel off of the house. After months of trying to contact him, he finally sent workers out, again inconsistently, to repair the damage. They repaired the damaged the cheap way and did not replace the flashing and protective covering around our windows, which caused severe leakage in our home. Again, we tried for months and months to contact him to report the damage and he finally agreed to repair the damage but we are still waiting for him to begin. He ripped open our walls to check the damage over 6 months ago and has left his scaffolding up outside and has not been back to repair the windows or the damage that his workers caused inside our home.
Surprisingly, throughout this entire process, he has been asking us to write a positive Unilocal review for him…
Being on the corner of our neighborhood, we have been asked about our windows and we always tell them «use anyone but A Taylor Made». Our experience has been awful and we are still waiting for our windows to be installed correctly 3 years later! Had Steve been honest and repaired the damage that his workers created in an acceptable time frame, we would have had a vey different opinion about this company.
We still have his scaffolding up outside our home, we aren’t sure why he leaves it here if he never plans to fix his mistakes.

I found A-​Taylor Made Window by going on Unilocal.I had two other companies come out to my home for a window quote and A-​Taylor Made Window was our 3rd quote and choice to install our new windows, from start to finish I can not express how happy I am with the final product. Not only did the windows turn out very beautiful but the staff that did the install were super neat and tidy throughout the whole day of install. The office staff was also professional and friendly which also made for a great overall experience. Even if you do not go with this window company it is worth getting a quote from them !

I had four different contractors bidding to replace the windows and a patio door in my condo. A-​Taylor was not the cheapest, but impressed me with a detailed quote and attention to my needs and expectations. The crew was attentive, always sounded knowledgeable and on the top of the schedule. They replaced our windows in Fall/​Winter of 2013. We had three other quotes and were really happy to choose this one. The options were all clearly presented (they even convinced me to go with vinyl windows instead of fiberglass– a down-​sale!). They were very professional fast and clean. All parts of the process from quote to the installation were great. They even retied the window treatments back the way they were before the installation. A small touch but it showed their professionalism and attention to detail. One worker shared with me that he really liked working for this company, a family run business. He had worked for another window company and said A Taylor Made treated all their workers well and everyone likes working there. It showed. I happily referred this company to an acquaintance, and highly recommend them.

We had A Taylor Made Windows replace three old aluminum windows in our house in August 2014. They always arrived when they said they would, were pleasant and friendly, and I am very happy with the windows.
What stands out for me is that I had an issue with the way the installer was doing something with the windowsill. He wasn’t doing it the way I had agreed on with Bill. I called the office, and Steve (the owner) drove to my house to talk with me and the installer and he straightened it all out. Steve is exceptional at customer service.

Our house has some serious settling and so the windows are crooked. They worked with it to make sure that the windows fit and worked. They were professional and tidy and thoughtful. We are very pleased with our recent experience with A-​Taylor. We replaced 5 windows in our 1940’s home, including a large picture window. All of the people at A-​Taylor we dealt with were courteous and professional. The large picture window was a challenge but Alex came up with a solution where we could keep it.
The install took place all in 1 day and we couldn’t be happier with the results.
After buying a foreclosure property and doing extensive rehab on our house, it is such a joy to work with people you can trust and who put the customer first.

I purchased a house that had 19 old aluminum windows that needed to be replaced. I gave A-​Taylor Made Window a call and they sent Bill over right away to give me an estimate. Bill was very patient with me as I was a first-​time homeowner. He carefully explained the different types of windows I could choose from and how far window technology has improved in recent years.
A-​Taylor Made Window’s bid was in the same ballpark as another company, but I liked their employees and customer service better so I decided to go with them. I’m glad I did. Everybody was very responsive to phone calls and emails during the entire process. Anybody who has dealt with contractors knows that this makes everything so much easier.
There were a couple minor issues that popped up during my install. The first issue was that they realized one window opening needed to be made bigger in order to meet code. They told me that was their fault for not catching it before giving me a bid so they didn’t charge me any extra for it. The second issue was that one of the windows they ordered was the wrong size. They came back a week later to install the correct window. They fixed both issues quickly and painlessly so I was still very satisfied.
I highly recommend anybody who needs windows replaced to give A-​Taylor Made Window a call.

I highly recommend A Taylor Made Window if you are considering replacing windows. Their work is top quality and all of their staffs are polite, responsible and easy to work with. Bill, Steve, and Cathy are extremely nice, responsible, polite people. I was ripped off by a contractor and left with unfinished windows. But A Taylor Made rescued us from obtaining permit from the city, bringing all the windows installation up to the code, and finish them beautifully. Their installers are their full time employees and extremely skilled and nice! (Be careful with contractors who claims that they can do windows, they just hire random guy who is not regularly employed, and they lack skills and knowledge to do the windows)
As I am finishing remodeling whole 2000 sqft house, and going through bad experience of being ripped off and mistreated by a bad contractor, I really really just want to emphasize to hire people who are specialized in each specific area. Don’t let one contractor take care of everything. And I highly recommend A Taylor Made if you want to get everything right from the beginning. Their price are extremely reasonable. A contractor might entice you by giving you a cheaper quote, but they lack knowledge and at the end, you save your sanity, time, energy and more by hiring these people.

#1, I want to invite Cathy over for Sunday dinner. that woman is just so sweet & friendly! super helpful & always on the ball with follow up, getting answers to your questions, etc.
#2, Bill is incredibly knowledgeable, patient & clearly loves his job. this dude lives for windows & doors. seriously. there was no upselling or pressure. he spent over an hour with me on the first visit answering questions & going through all the options, even after I told him we were just wanted an estimate & were not sure we were ready to get any work done.
all the guys that came out for the installation were top notch. got the job done in the time promised, everything was cleaned up afterwards, etc.
we ran into a few little snafus (door frame issue & inspector misinterpreting a city code), but they were taken care of immediately. Steve, the owner, stepped in to make sure everything was handled properly.
the windows & doors look great (and did not break the bank, either). we are 100% satisfied!
