I found Active Family Chiropractic through Groupon/Livingsocial. I have Dr. Budd as my doctor; I fall in love with him. He is very patience and explained to me in term that I can understand. He educated me about spine and open my mind. After the second times visiting him, I felt a lot better. I didn’t have as much pain after seeing him, thank you Dr. Budd. Unfortunately he is no longer there. I haven’t see a new doctor yet. I will update after I see the new doctor, whoever that may be, I have trust that is good and can continue to help me. I have a lot of questions; and I was nervous and a bit shy to keep asking questions but Dr. Budd make me feel comfortable and explained throughly for me. He went over what is wrong with me and what he can do to help and what we can do to prevent it. I love the place here, from the environment to receptionist to doctor –they all make you feel welcome — like family(just like their name). Daniella is who I usually contact with regarding scheduling or anything, and she tried her best to respond in time. I love everyone there. This is not a complete review; I just want to throw this review out there that this place, especially Dr. Budd have save my left arm. This place is located in Reston, near Home Depot and a coffee shop(not sure the name).

Love love love the staff here. Dr. Mick and his wife, and Dr. Budd are awesome, funny, caring, uplifting, not to mention completely professional and extremely current on their knowledge. And I’m not just talking about the spine. They offer healthy ways of losing weight, home rehab and exercises, core stabilization and strengthening, etc. I honestly could care less the cost, I genuinely enjoy coming here during my week. It’s like a break from the stress of the day. I have referred a few people here with success as well. I have improved my overall health and am mostly pain free. If you need a chiropractor, HERE is your answer!

Friendly people. Their personalities alone would rate 4 – 5 stars, but I’ve got to step back and evaluate them as a customer. I think better communication would have made the difference between 3 and 4 stars. I was referred here by a coworker during their Valentine’s special, «Doctors with a Heart.» Basically it was a $ 50 discount from out-of-pocket expenses for first-time clients. Family-oriented is a good way to describe them. Part of the waiting room is sectioned off for kids, equipped with toys and a TV. An aquarium and browsing material is also available for idle eyes. First thing I noticed, they’re only open 3 – 4 hours a day 6 days a week. They claim flexibility on scheduling adjustments, which is kind of a relief. When inclement weather looms, they notify clients of closures by email morning of, with about an hour’s notice. Dr. Jason(eye candy, cough cough) hosts a monthly Saturday event for women who can bring a friend, which entails wine-tastings, chocolate sampling, and massages. Glancing over their calendar, I spotted evidence of a Valentine’s Day party as well. He forgot my name twice, but understandable after how many appointments they go through in a day. While he was assisting Dr. Mick with his case load, I inquired about the joint cracking urban myth, and received reasonable advice regarding moderation. Education is a big part of their program, other than exercises and physical rehabilitation/adjustments. They show you how to read your own x-rays, and give examples of how they choose to evaluate you. Unfortunately this means that consultations are broken up into two sessions: a private office hours session for x-rays and testing, followed by an outside-hour group learning session for new patients. Waiting on someone to watch a slideshow is kind of a bummer. Insurance information wasn’t called out in full, and there were disparities between the payment plan options I discussed with Dr. Mick and what the receptionist Jenny handed me. I opted to go with occasional maintenance visits instead of a corrective plan; they offer a 15% discount for corrective plans when paid in full up front. And really, I have a giant bowling ball head, I’m not that surprised the weight has straighted my spinal curve a little.
