Here’s the rest of the story. I purchased the design from Signature and required cabinets from Ikea and used another contractor. Once they got about half way into the build they showed me that the design didn’t quite match my dimensions. I measured for myself and they were right. They had to extend a wall a few inches, (and didn’t overcharge me for the work) and made everything fit (just!).

BTW, Unilocalers– I’ve since been told by IKEA that Sig Srvcs no longer contracts for them. Guess they finally figured it out.

PLEASE — DO NOT hire this company. They installed an IKEA kitchen for us about a year and a half ago and we have had nothing but trouble. Leaks, cabinet doors that won’t shut properly, walls that were not repaired correctly… headache after headache.

I can not stress enough to stay away from Signature Services. Every step of the way has been a nightmare. I wish I would have read the reviews BEFORE I embarked on this road of misery.
I met with the designer in January and after I instructed him with door pulls/​handles I wanted, he chose different handles and never told me, showed me, nor asked for my approval. Of course the name of the handles were in some bizarre Swedish word, so I never caught it, and thought the entire time that I would receive very basic, stainless steel handles, which would match with my new kitchen — backsplash and appliances. Instead, when I came in on the last day (after the kitchen was fully installed), I had 38 door faces with the ugliest CHROME door pulls that I had never seen before. I have been arguing with SSG and IKEA since March and it is now the end of June. SSG refuses to do anything about it because I signed off on those obscure handles. I was told by the installer that I could think about switching the handles out for other ones, as they wanted to leave my house, but the problem is that the holes are 2.5 «and they are the only handles offered by IKEA or that I can even find online with 2.5 «holes.
Long story short, they have been rude, threatened to sue me because I haven’t paid the final 10% payment, and have even sent a demand letter to me. They refuse to admit any wrong doing or even meet me ½ way. Also, the designer who made the error no longer works for them, so he didn’t weigh in on the situation.
Stay away!!! This is the best advice I can give. They are unprofessional, rude, and once they receive their money, you are no longer a client and they certainly don’t care about their final product, reputation, or customer service. It’s been the worst experience for me, and I feel so sad and frustrated every time I am in my new kitchen.

As with another reviewer, I am giving one star because the designer who assisted us was nice. We used Signature through Ikea only for design services, where their staff measures, helps design the kitchen layout, and specs the cabinets. Using this service was a terrible mistake. Once we began the kitchen remodel, we ran into a number of issues with the design. A doorway was measured as 32″ instead of 40″. The kitchen island was oversized for the space. There were a number of poor design choices identified by my contractor, an independent designer (who we hired midstream), and Ikea staff. The end result is that we lost money having cabinets built that we could not use. I’ve made multiple trips to Ikea to exchange and purchase new cabinets during the remodel. I thought I was paying for a service to minimize headaches and improve the design and it was quite the opposite experience. Ikea did refund the cost of the service, but I am still coming out short in the end.

I think it’s interesting that the majority of reviews are one star. That alone says a lot. I, too, have a one-​star recommendation. The company guises itself to be professional — until there is a problem. At that point, they will do and say whatever to make the customer be in the wrong. They don’t take responsibility for any mistakes that happen on their end. They don’t return phone calls when promised, but they are very prompt in calling to get a payment. I was told by Dan, the demo man, that he didn’t need to tarp off any areas of my house because there would be no dust involved in his demo. When I came home from work there was dust EVERYWHERE. I had to ask that he clean up. He would have left it as is. My disconnected stove was covered in dust as was everything else. I am now in the process of trying to get my stove to work. Signature Services disconnected my stove for the demo and when they reconnected it, it wouldn’t start up. Could all that dust be the problem? They say the pictures they took of my kitchen show that my stove is really old. How can they tell how old it is when it’s covered in dust? And as a matter of fact, it’s not old. They don’t want to pay for repairs because they insist the problem is on my end. Why am I not surprised? They left me without water for my sprinklers, and it took them almost a week to come and turn the water back on. Maybe I should know how to do that myself, but I don’t. I was assigned to Courtney to be my go-​to person, but every time I called she was never in. They disconnect all the plumbing to do the work, but they never tell you that you’re on your own to hire a plumber to reconnect your sink, faucet and dishwasher. They will do it for you —- at a price of $ 600!!! The whole company seems really shady to me. With all the one-​star reviews, I’m surprised IKEA is still using them. I plan on putting a call into IKEA and the Better Business Bureau as well. I’m very disappointed in them.

When my neighbors told me I get what I paid for from IKEA, I took my chance because I really like the high gloss cabinets they sell.
Since my counter top crew messed our job up, I have nothing but understanding & cooperation from Chris, the scheduler to help me out.
When the installer, Alfred came back to finish our job, he took great pride to make sure that every door, ever drawer is aligned correctly, everything is to my satisfaction.
I had contemporary cabinets custom made twice before, this whole experience with IKEA cabinet was a winner!

Well one reviewer actually got an apology. We did not get an apology after an unethical, dishonest employee actually stole material from another part of our building. Outrageously inappropriate response from Signature services group. Does IKEA not see this crap! And way way way overpriced. We paid two workers 150.00 an hour each! The «supervisor» was lazy and dishonest. Hire an honest handyman.

I had lots of reservation since I used to associate ikea with low price and inferior quality. signature service group has totally changed my perception. Rhandi, the installer did a beautiful job. He even corodianated with iran at ikea carson to add a piece to the set and personally picked it up so as to save me the trip that night. He and his assistant Jake were very professional. They kept the dust to the minimum and cleaned bup well after each day’s work. I hate to say that the ikea kitchen looks better than my custome Italian kitchen.
During the whole process, Ryan and J.R. From the office responded to my multiple inquiries promptly.

Cannot say enough good things about Shanon and Matt. They are super helpful, knowledgeable, and the customer service is awesome. I wish I had more places that they could help me with.

The process for getting an appointment was very frustrating. However, once you get past the cranky appointment girls, Signature shows off their true skills.
My new kitchen is amazing, better than we could have imagined.
Sarah, the designer, came up with ideas we had never thought of, knew our style and took Ikea cabinets to a whole new level. This step is money well spent. Do not skip it.
Evan, the planner, came out and took us though install process, customizations and further refined the design. We called him several times and he always made himself available for questions and anxiety support.
Ivan, the installer was top notch. He made custom tweaks to make everything look clean and perfect. He knows he stuff for sure. He even sent us back to Ikea to get some differrent doors that he thought would fit and look better. He was right. We were very impressed with Ivan.
There’s an issue in their process for sure. But all we want in the end is a good looking, well designed and well built kitchen. Installed by professionals. We were very glad we decided to hang in there and give these guys a chance.

Wow, I am surprised to see all lthe negative reviews! 2 ½ years ago these guys did our kitchen, hardwood floors and electrical/​plumbing rework. Overall we LOVE our kitchen. The hardwood floor is a perfect match with the rest of the area and even though there were bumps along the way I would use them again. Tim our general contractor was great and so was the crew, yes there were a few new people that would show up, but not in a way that work couldn’t get done.
I would say that signature services needs to do a better job in communication and being more responsive on a timely manner. But we love our kitchen and I would hire them again.

My experience with Signature Services Group has been nothing short of awful. We had problems with scheduling, price and communication. And nearly two months later I am still waiting on a refund of my $ 1750 deposit — I had to contest the charge with my credit card company. IKEA should not be recommending this company to do installs.

I don’t know where to begin. It’s apparent from other reviews that my experience is not unique. This company has the worst business model I’ve ever seen. Every day, I had a new person to deal with. There was no consistency. And each time I had to educate the new person. This led to numerous mistakes – big, costly mistakes – because no one transferred information from one to another. I dealt with no less than 12 people. It was ludicrous – would have been comedy had it not been so painful. The space planner they provided in the beginning made big, costly mistakes. When they began installing – 3 months after the contract was signed – they ruined my newly refinished floors (not refinished by them) twice and only paid for the repair once. They measured the drywall modifications incorrectly and I had to pay for the corrections out of my pocket. They didn’t return calls – had to harass them – and then I was made to feel like I was asking more than the agreement. The one redeeming thing about them, and it’s really not about them, was the cabinet installers. They were pros. But I learned from them, and most all of their subs, that no one is happy there. The chaos and disorganization is universal. The management has no idea of how to run an organization, timeline management, customer service, personnel, accounting… nothing. I honestly have nothing positive to say about this company other than about some of the aforementioned subs. And they are victims too. Regarding costs, I’ve carefully audited the charges, only to realize they were trying to charge me $ 1,700 more than the contract. I can go on because the list is long, but the sum of it all is that it was a disastrous experience and I would never do it again. And Ikea will know about this at the highest levels.

I can not stress enough to stay away from this company. Their craftmanship is fair at best and their custumer service is horrible. They installed a kitchen for me 2 ½ years ago in did not install a panel that attached to my dishwaster correctly. It took a couple years, but the piece ended up warping because they had not sealed it before attaching it. This was clearly required since it was attached to a dishwasher which would produce a lot of moisture. It clearly spelled out the need in the installation instructions as well. Well they did not do this and when it came time that the piece needed to be replaced they refused to come out and reinstall correctly, stating that they only warranty their work for one year regardess of any neglect on their side during the installation. Wow! This caused a major headache since during the 2 year period Ikea had changed out the color of the wood we used so they did not have a replacement piece that matched our kitchen. Luckily the Ikea kitchen manager, Heather, is a rock star and was able to find an old panel in Canada and have it shipped. That said, I do recommend IKEA and their product but PLEASE have someone besides Signature Services install the kitchen, just because they sit inside the IKEA does not mean they do good work or are even recommended by IKEA.

Never use this company! I figured that going with Ikea’s recommended installer was the way to go. Horrible mistake! They never return phone calls, do an incompetent job, and don’t show up most of the time. It took me over three months to get a small kitchen installed — two of which were spent without any running water on my first floor. I paid $ 300 extra for «total project management» which is a complete scam. I couldn’t even get the project manager or contractor on the phone. Weeks would go by without anyone answering our repeated emails and phone calls.
Every single step was done incorrectly — from design to installation. We had to eventually fire them and bring in our own guys to finish the job.
It was a complete and utter nightmare every step of the way, and Ikea should be ashamed for partnering with such a horrible company.

Our experience with Signature Service Group has been terrible. They designed our kitchen which is very small but they missed a few items. Fortunately, the Ikea people caught it and added the items manually. Then they told us that since it was a small kitchen it would only take one day to install. But they forgot to mention that assembly is done by a different team and also requires a day.
After spending 2 days at our house they were not able to complete the job (note, we only have 17 cabinets). When I tried to schedule my next appointment I was told that the next available date was 3 weeks later! They just pushed us aside and moved on to the next project.
So, 3 weeks later a different team came and STILL couldn’t finish it! They spent the whole day counting the inventory and fixing the mistakes of the first team. I had to run to Ikea to buy some additional items. Also some panels were not cut correctly and now we need new ones. Our cabinets are misaligned: the pantry is almost 5 inches lower than the other cabinets (Signature Services designed it, we also paid an up-​charge for the modification).
And nobody at the company seems to care. I emailed the project manager with no response. The project coordinator hasn’t called to address the issue and schedule the next appointment. I guess it’s going to be another 3 weeks…
Terrible company that doesn’t respect and doesn’t appreciate their customers. Ikea made a mistake giving this company an exclusive right to install their kitchens.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Stay away from this company, far, far away.
From the start they were slow to respond to my request for their service. I had to repeatedly call and email to set up the first meeting, the measurement. When the guy came out and measured, he said I should have already had my second appointment set up, which we didn’t and that took a few more days for them to get back to me on this as well. I finally got my two design appointments, which I only had one choice to choose (I had to miss work) from or I would have to wait two weeks (their website says 9 – 11 days from start to finish).
I show up for my first appointment and Sarah was very nice. We changed some things around and I was on my way in about 10 minutes since I knew what I wanted before I even went in. She told me I could come back on Wednesday (instead of Friday, she was extremely open, which sure wasn’t the case when I was making my appointments) at any time and we would finish it up and she would give me the plans. I go back and she gives me SOME of my plans and a print out of my parts. I have to email to get the rest of my plans. I go into Ikea and pick my parts and start on the construction journey.
I build all my lower cabinets, and don’t really feel they match up to the plans but figured the photos were junky anyway and I just had more of a gap than I thought. One of my multi drawers doesn’t line up and I can’t figure out why (turns out I have two DIFFERENT drawers to choose from in this pack a bought, but no one told me this). I have granite put in and I start on my uppers. I have all my uppers completed and go to fit them and it doesn’t fit. Sarah said there may be an issue, but the cabinets were well into my window so there was a measuring error (a service I paid for!). I look at my plans and look at my kitchen again and that’s where I realized EVERYTHING was wrong.
My uppers were 36″ cabinets (which were way to big) and my lowers were 30″ cabinets. Now, my plans had everything at 36″, so not only were my uppers to big, my lower cabinets weren’t even the correct size! I knew something looked funny, but again THIS IS WHY I PAID SOMEONE. I had no choice but to leave my bottom cabinets since I had already put the granite on top, which upsets me since now I have these gaps that really shouldn’t be there for the rest of my life. Even if the big 36″ cabinets did fit, they wouldn’t have matched the bottom.
I called multiple times and no one gets back to me so I go in to Ikea to talk to Signature Services about this and the girl at the front counter was extremely rude to me, saying it was probably my fault and telling me repeatedly that I needed to calm down even though I was just trying to explain why I wasn’t in the wrong. Sarah came in, looked the plans and the pull list and told me they had totally messed up. Said she should have double checked and was very sorry. She changed my upper cabinets and told me that I could return my fully built ones (which I had to make a couple of trips seeing we only have small cars, we had to rent a uhaul to buy everything in the first place). Once again, we couldn’t fix the bottom, so I was hoping to get some kind of reimbursement from them seeing they botched my kitchen!
To top it all off, there were various parts that were never explained to me where they were supposed to go and when I inquired about them after the fact it was too late (Didn’t know that there were filler boards). Sarah said she usually gives notes but said once again she totally messed up on this. I had to go back to Ikea at least 5 times to return parts and have to go back again since they sold me 6 toe kicks and I only needed two, something I don’t really understand.
So all in all, this was a total waste. I could have measured better and picked out the parts better on my own (seeing my kitchen originally was the same cabinet 6 times with a sink and two smaller upper cabinets). I asked for a refund and they weren’t going to give it, but my husband has worked for a contractor before and knows what customer service should be and eventually got it out of them. We also got out $ 75 coupon, only good towards our kitchen, which we bought three weeks ago. Sigh.

We have been waiting three weeks to finish off the half completed install of our kitchen and have been told Mid June is the next available, they are ridiculous
I would strongly suggest you run as fast as possible in the other direction as with the exception of the actual crew (who were v helpful) nobody seems to give a fig. I would also warn against their ply of passing you from one person to another to another to another, each one of whom tells you that it’s not their responsibility and that you need to talk to someone else.
If you do use them E MAIL and document everything ad they will also deny conversations happened or promises were made by them
This company is an abject mess

Signature is a vendor that Ikea recommends or «punts to» for Ikea kitchen installations. They provide design/​measurement services and will refund a bit of that money to be applied to the actual installation work if you proceed with them. I used their design service and the experience was so lousy I pulled the escape cord, there were red flags all around during the design phase that I dared not continue.
I bought the 4 design consulation service — which includes 1 measurement service and 4 design consultations. Measurement consultation was fine. The design consultation was pitiful. The coordinator told me that the first consultation would be at home, turned out it was at Ikea. Right hand doesnt talk to the left hand.
At the end of every session, we summarize the set of change requests and open questions. They seem to go in one ear and out the other. In the next session, we would have to remind about the changes and re-​ask the questions. In essence they will agree to pretty much anything you ask for to get you to schedule the work. You think they are the orchestrating everything including buying other materials not from Ikea, but actually they’re not. You have to buy your own stuff and ship them even at Ikea, they just provide you with the shopping list. They keep pushing precision stone for countertop, but they just dont communicate or work well with each other. Precision couldnt get the quote to Signature in a punctual way, and to this day the final quote I have from Precision still has the wrong countertop material and missing a sink. I have no idea who is responsible for templating the cutouts.
The design calls for walls to be knocked out, which means extra flooring would be needed to patch up where the wall use to be. Did they ever bring up this point? No. I had to bring it up. Eventually that detail also fell to the wayside. I can totally see them do the entire installation and then realize at the end — oh by the way, you need flooring to patch up that spot. Call us when you’ve received it and we’ll schedule to come back.
After our final design session, we waited and waited for our final design and quote. Never got it. The designer never picked up the phone and never returned our calls. Eventually I had to go back to the sales to complain and ask for the final design and quote. They promise to make it right. I get the quote and it still had mistakes. What the…
They’ve dragged their feet so much, I gave up.
The reality is that they’re like Ikea, mass manufactured and all about the volume. Thats fine if they can keep their designs right and schedules tight, but they couldn’t. They’re not your single point of contact, you have to do a lot of the legwork. Thats fine, but you dont even know who’s doing what and they arent crystal clear or upfront about it. This creates a lot of room for misunderstanding and «oh I thought you were going to buy/​take care of that». They just want to get you scheduled, and figure things out along the way. Really a recipe for disaster.
UPDATE: what’s with the «OUR RATING DOES NOT REFLECT OUR OVERALL REVIEWS» response? Man up and improve. I didn’t get any follow-​up or efforts to make it right.
