MM Comfort Systems

I had an existing Lennox forced-​air furnace and wanted to install central air conditioning. I was referred to MM Comfort Systems through a friend who had a good experience.
The person who came to do the estimate was very thorough and methodical in calculating the AC capacity needs of the house. He verified that the floor registers would be sufficient and came up with a placement location for the outdoor unit.
The installation was scheduled for three weeks later. Just one week before the installation, I found out that I needed to have the furnace moved to make room for an upcoming remodel. MM Comfort Systems was able to get the change order in and do all the additional duct work and furnace rebuild on the original installation day.
The quality of the work that the installers did is top notch. The Lennox SL18XC1 unit is quiet and efficient and my house has been a comfortable 72 degrees ever since. The furnace and coil were rebuilt in the new location with the most professional-​looking (and leak-​free) duct work my house has ever seen.
I had no trouble contacting anyone at any time, they were very responsive to emails during business hours. I have recommended them to several friends since.

We had a great experience with this company. I highly recommend them for your heating and cooling needs.

Wonderful Installation work. I used MM to install my a/​c and furnace. I liked them so much I’m also having them service my furnace as well.

Price is ridiculous for the service. He came out and charged me $ 250 to basically say there was nothing he could do. His communication skills were very poor. Not consultative, suggestive, or accommodating.

Wonderful customer service all around. From making the appointment to the day of service. Arrived on time as scheduled — answered all my questions and performed annual service on a/​c. I have confidence in this company. I used MM to install my a/​c and liked them so much I’m also having them service my furnace as well.

MM sold us a real lemon in 2008 — a brand new premium Carrier Infinity 4 zones and all. They came back multiple times to replace major parts and we were ready to replace MM as our furnace company. Well, Carrier got in trouble for those furnaces and after some frank exchanges with MM, MM installed the redesigned system last year and made good on their guarantees. I wish we didn’t have to develop such a deep relationship with our furnace company, but they restored our faith in MM.

HORRIBLE COMPANY! DO NOT USE! They’re a rip-​off and their customer service is the worst ever.

Do not use them for your oil furnace. After spending 300 dollars for them to clean it, we have another company out 2 months later saying they didn’t clean it right. When I called to ask about it they only cover their work for 30 days. RUN!

We recently had our furnace serviced by MM and received excellent customer service. Jeff was friendly, professional and answered any questions I had. We also had MM come out to provide a quote for AC throughout our house and had another great experience. Their pricing is competitive and Vince explained everything in great detail. We are so happy that we decided to go with MM for both our furnace service and AC installation. Our expectations were definitely exceeded — great from start to finish. Highly recommend.

Jeff was very polite and on time. He installed a water heater and left everything tidy when he left. Very efficient.

The customer service is terrible. Since it was through Costco I thought they would be good. But I ordered the furnace at the beginning of December. The person selling the furnace was on time and was very good about emailing and calling to make sure we had the paperwork in and everything paid for. After that they went dead on their end. I called repeatedly to schedule them to install the furnace and NO ONE called back. I left message after message with the installation manager but I repeat NO ONE called back. I talked to the operator and she finally told me that the installation manager had quit but they had someone new who was taking the calls, but she finally agreed to put me through to the other installation manager who was a real live person. I’m thinking — so you put me through to the voice mail of someone who had quit and was obviously NOT taking calls and NOW you put me through to someone real after I keep pestering you!!! So the guy schedules me for 8 this morning. I get a call last week to call and confirm. I call the number and hear ad Verizon message saying the number has been DISCONNECTED. I call the office once again and leave a message that 8 is okay — who knows if they got that message — it’s like calling a black hole. At 9 this morning no one is here and I call them. First time I’m forwarded yet again by the office operator to that voice mail. I call again and insist on talking to someone real, I get someone real but I’m put on hold and eventually I hear the click and silence. I call back to the operator and say the person hung up on me and she finally gets a hold of the elusive installation manager. After a month I’m finally talking to her. She says there was confusion about who the work was done for because my name as well as my dad’s was on the paperwork. She says she’ll call the installer and see if he can come in later today. Meanwhile I’m thinking if I’m having such a hard time right now, what’s it going to be like if it’s even installed and I need help?! I call Costco and luckily they have good customer service and I cancel the order through them. After I cancel then I start getting called from MM. It’s funny how they are very communicative when they are trying to make a sale, but once they have your money it’s like they don’t care about actually getting the thing installed, and then when they are going to lose their money, then they start calling you.
Recommendation: No, don’t do it. Read the reviews, they don’t lie.

I am really disappointed with the service installing my heat pump. I went with MM after they did our old house; it was great. When we moved, we decided to use them again. However, they charged our credit card in advance of work (and after i was told i would be notified before charging), and during the install it was discovered that the original proposal could not include things like using our Nest thermostat, and we had to go with a piece of junk Honeywell one.
We had to wait for city inspection before we could turn it on. Once we were city approved, I called to finalize the install and we got it on the books. My wife took time off work to wait all day for this to be done. When the electrician showed up we found out that he was not scoped to do all the work needed, nor could he turn on the system. I called their installer who did not know that the master electrician had quit, nor did the installer seem to understand what work was needed to turn on our system.
So, now we will go through the Thanksgiving holiday jacking up our gas bill with the inefficient furnace, and I get to take time off from my job to go through an additional four hours of needed work.
I totally get that people quit. I get that Accounts Payable can get get overzealous. I get that things changed once the wiring in the house was further investigated.
I am disappointed because there was a total lack of communication on MM’s part. I have to keep calling to get an update if work will be done today. I also am shocked at the total apathy at the position i have been put in. I am sure they do good work, they did it for me… but i cannot say that they do so consistently.

We recently bought our condo and decided to go with MM Comfort Systems since they had installed and maintained our furnace for the previous owners. When we had a problem, they were courteous and prompt. Plamen (the service operator) was very helpful and polite. On the two occasions he came out, he not only fixed our A/​C unit, did a thorough maintenance check, installed a wet switch and went on an electrical wild goose chase set by another contractor. I don’t know if the pricing was too much but for a reliable job and great customer service it was worth it. Definitely a positive experience.

We too found MM Comfort Systems through Costco. We scheduled with the company, in-​store, for a weekday evening. The day before that appointment, the salesman contacted us, asking if we could reschedule as his son had a game that evening. We rescheduled for a Saturday evening, which was very inconvenient, as that was all the salesman had available. We kept our evening open and at 9pm, realized the salesman was a no-​show. We texted him and heard nothing.
The following day, we called their main office and left a voicemail to complain about the lack of communication and the no-​show. The day following the complaint, we received a phone call, not from the main office, but from the salesman apologizing, saying he was sick the night of our appointment and overslept. He asked us not to call the main office again. We then scheduled a third date for a consultation.
Once the salesman did finally make it, he quoted us a price which we later discovered to be ridiculously high for an air conditioner replacement. Given the lack of professionalism shown by both the main office and the salesman, we declined their quote and went with another company, which was half the price.
This company is to be avoided and the small number of extremely positive reviews are very suspicious, given the overwhelming number of experiences like ours.

They were okay. A bit expensive. duct cleaning and servicing of furnace were two separate crews/​appts and two decent sized bills.
Not sure we’ll be calling them for our service next year. The crew guys were okay, pretty tidy and friendly. Nothing that compelling either way.

As a Sammamish home owner, I’ve been using MM Comfort Systems for years now, and have always had a positive experience.
MM Comfort’s Service Technicians are the best I’ve been able to find on the Eastside. They are friendly and efficient, and are quick to come by whenever we call in for a repair.
I would recommend MMCS to anyone looking for a new furnace, or even just a consultation to learn if you can heat/​cool your house more efficiently. Also, they partner with Costco which is great if you already have a membership there.

We recently purchased a house and had to replace the heating system. This company is on the pricier side but they are well worth it. The technician that came to our house arrived when they said he was going to (I hate waiting around) and worked really hard and fast to get the job done — he even stayed way past his 8 hours to get it done that day (which was nice since otherwise we would have been without heat). We were also able to schedule them quickly. You get what you pay for!

***Note that my review is based on a service from 2011. I thought I had written this review, but apparently had not. A recent service on my furnace reminded to check them because we discussed M&M’s service with the current service provider.
During November of 2011, our heater stopped working. Turned out it was a cracked pressure tube. When the technician arrived, I made it a point to let him know that I was unemployed, so please don’t do anything that isn’t necessary. The tech told me that my ignitor needed to be replaced. He charged me $ 181.70 for the part (part number 767A-​372). At the end of the service, he hands me my old ignitor and tells me to keep it as a backup. This price didn’t include the labor for the service, that is listed on a separate line of the invoice.
After he leaves and some quick online searching, turns out you can purchase these for under $ 50 brand new. Also, I have learned that the ignitors either work or don’t work. You don’t need to change them if they are working.
So I wanted to say thanks to M&M for taking advantage of my lack of knowledge on furnace parts and charging me an unnecessary $ 181.70 (plus tax) while I was unemployed. Really appreciate it. Maybe the tech was a bad seed, but based on the other reviews I see on here, I don’t think this was an isolated event.
Based on my experience and other reviews on here, stay away from M&M, unless you have money laying around in piles.

Way overpriced.
I paid $ 99 for a evaluation of my furnace that stopped working (even though I had already told them its because of a failed relay on the board). They came and after 20 minutes, affirmed my diagnostic. The tech then spent another 25 minutes calling their office to see if I was covered under warranty (it wasn’t). I get the bill for the $ 99 diagnostic and find out their tech tacked on another $ 50 for extra time past the first 30 minutes! On top of it all, they said to replace my furnace card since it was no longer covered under warranty, it’d be about $ 850. So let’s recap: $ 99 + $ 50 + $ 850 = $ 999 to replace a furnace card.
I take issue in that they didn’t disclose that they were going to charge more for anything beyond 30 minutes. In fact, the tech seemed to drag his feet in letting me know the situation — I’d come down to check on him and see him standing around listening to the furnace turn off and on/​flipping through a price book/​on the phone with his office. If your time was going to cost me past 30 minutes, I sure as heck would’ve been standing there with my eye on my watch!
Here’s the kicker: I obviously turned down any further work with them and decided to do the repair on my own. Bought the part for $ 86 off amazon, waited 5 business days for it to arrive (a long time when your furnace is out in the winter), and installed it in 20 minutes! And I have ZERO experience repairing furnaces.
My friends, we are obviously in the wrong business if folks can be charged outrageous prices for a job that takes less than an hour. This company technically tried to charge me $ 1000+/hr for labor. Be smart when dealing with them.

Don’t use MM Comfort if your time is valuable in any way.
We had MM install AC in May in our new construction home, referred by Costco. The first guy came out and took all of the measurements, photos, etc. and estimated it as a 1 day job, crew of 4, $ 6,500.
3 weeks later the installation team came out, I scheduled a day off from work. They took a look around and said they didn’t have everything they needed and they’d come back later in the week. I take another day off later in the week and they show up late, but do get the work almost done. They had to come out for a 3^rd day for a few hours to finish the job. Yet another day off.
Fast forward to November. Oddly now my heating isn’t working right. The upstairs is 10 degrees hotter than the downstairs, and as a result the heat is running constantly. It was fine last winter. Maybe it’s due to the MM AC installation, maybe not. We scheduled them to come out today, a 2 — 5 PM window, I took a half day off of work, and they were a no show. We called, they said the guy was busy on another job. They didn’t bother to call us, and now they can’t come out for another week.
These clowns don’t deserve your business, they certainly won’t have mine again. I will be making a point of letting anyone in Costco that’s talking with their sales team know my opinion on their services as I walk out of Costco from now on. That’s how irritated I am.
