Cheapest place in town ($ 15.95 without even needing a coupon) and the service was super quick and professional. They even had someone with a safety vest and traffic sign help me back out onto Mill Street, which can be tricky. Only downside is that the parking lot is very tiny and they only appear to have one testing machine, so this could be a problem if you came at a busy time.

I have a 95 Tahoe that has struggled in years past I recently replaced the distributor… and I was able to quickly get in and out very efficient and I passed !

Have gone here for my last two smog checks. Both times staff has been professional and effecient. Has taken less than 10 min total each time. Price is very reasonable and competitive. They will even submit your registration to the DMV for you for only $ 5 additional.

Got my smog done here today. The gentleman attending me was very polite and it only cost about $ 18. Quick painless smog.

Totally terrible customer service! I took my car in for a smog and was told it was «rejected», even though I had done NOTHING to cause a rejected result (no disconnected battery, no work done to the car, no check engine light, nothing). Was charged $ 10 and told to drive it some more and bring it back. So I took it to another shop and it passed no problem. When we called GK to complain we were told it was only because we had driven it for a couple of days that it passed, and basically got totally blown off. I’m not sure if it’s their machine that’s malfunctioning, or if it’s operator error, or what, but the whole experience was very negative. Definitely do not recommend!

It’s never something you look forward to when you get that postcard in the mail, gently reminding you to renew your insurance and pay the man a lump sum to not pay another lump sum if/​when you are pulled over by some reason by an officer. An officer just doing their job; you just stare at your wallet in disappointment as a fly buzzes out, mocking you. And of course, not only do you need to renew you registration, but you also are required in Nevada to smog your car. Every year. Well, fret not my friends! Places like G K Smog Inspection make your life a little easier, and your designated ‘errands day’ had become a little more open.
It was a little difficult to find, partially because my GPS decided to direct me in a circle prior to my arrival. I was greeted right away and they did my smog check quickly. I should also add that it was a total of $ 17.95 for the check! This is the cheapest I’ve ever had to pay for a smog. They also gave me advice on using the dmv kiosk instead of waiting in line. Not only that, realizing that I will be a chore to back out of their driveway back unto second street, they graciously offered to stand on the sidewalk and direct me back.

This is a great place to get your smog check. They have two machines they run at the same time to keep the line moving. Staff are normally friendly and the price can’t be beat when you use a coupon from the Jack Joseph mailing!
I’ve been getting my cars smogged here for years and will continue to give them my business.
As an added note, the one gentleman that has been there for years is always very respectful to your vehicle, I’ve taken my hot rod here several times without any issues.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of reviewers: G K Smog is great. $ 16 with an online coupon and fast and pleasant service to boot. Hours of operation are 8 am to 6 pm, with a convenient location on 2^nd St just after the intersection with Kietzke. The only reason why I give them 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because it is a little awkward to back out of the inspection station after the test, especially if other cars are waiting behind you. Regardless, it’s the only place that I’ll go to for my annual vehicle test before renewing my vehicle registration! When I returned home, the test results had been forwarded electronically to the DMV, so I was able to renew my vehicle online without a problem.

Have gone for years. Fast and dirty. Bring you coupons. Then go register your car online yourself for free.

The only place in Reno Sparks area I’ll go for a smog. I have always had good service here. They are quick at getting you in and out for a smog. The price for a smog is very reasonable even without the online coupon. The techs are not very talkative but are always friendly when engaged.

I have been going here for three years now! Quick, fast, and DONE! Then off to the dreaded DMV! Only cost 18 bucks and some change. You pull up, they hook you up, they print your paper, you pay and your DONE!

$ 16 even for a smog w/​coupon. the smog was fast. im not sure about the no waiting part though… there were like 2 cars parked there and i couldnt go in cause the place is SO small. so i waited until they were done… so i was just parked on the side walk while waiting.

I used the review from anita and used the coupon for 16.95(which includes the smog and the certificate) from the internet and just showed them the coupon on my cell phone and was smog tested and paid in less than ten minutes. This place is down the street from the dmv. Small place, but cheap and fast and you can even pay to renew your registration at this location as well… Which makes it an even better one stop shop. I will definitely recommend this place to others.

Came in with a $ 16.95 coupon and that was my price. 5 minutes and I was all done. Going to go in with my other car today! Would highly recommend!
