Driving back to California at night Car broke down pulled up Unilocal looked for a shop liked the reviews for Martins so had the car towed there.
Had the honor of meeting Chuck who stared looking at my car 20 Mins before he started work and he set me up got it fixed and I was back on the road by 10:00am…
This is a great business and I just wish there was a shop like this in my home town!

Was searching around town for a battery and Chuck hooked me up with the best price. Beat the dealer price by $ 50 and didn’t upcharge at all. I recommend this place for the staff cannot vouch for the mechanics but I wouldn’t mind coming back. Thanks Guys for the Help!!!

These guys are outstanding.
I bring my highly modified offroad rig here, and they are the only guys in town who are able to pinpoint problems and provide me with a cost effective solution. I’ve never had any issue with this shop and highly recommend it.

Would rather have given them half of a star just so it makes the ratings. There must be more people that have had horrible experiences with this shop! My husband took his truck in two months ago to have an oil leak fixed (which is still under warranty). When the truck lost oil pressure, he had it towed to the shop, where Martin and his crew got nasty. They declared that it couldn’t have been anything wrong with what they had done without even looking at it! They are refusing to look into the WARRANTY work and want to incur more costs with more excuses than one can even keep up with. At this point, we won’t have them touch it. We will seek legal council, and take it to the dealership, where we are asking for proof that they have lied about the original work they claim to have done, and to get our $ 500 UNDER WARRANTY money back!

Easily one of the best mechanics in town. Always great work, always a great price. They NEVER do work that is not needed, and ALWAYS call to get permission to do any work they find during the normal course of their work. And they are human. IF (on the RARE occasion) they own up to that and fix the issue for free. I have NEVER had an issue with their work, their professionalism, or anything else… Use these mechanics!

I was in town from Oregon for Hot August Nights and my 65 Chevelle busted a alternator bolt inside the head. I was up a creek without a paddle. I called around and nobody could help me out tell the next day or two. I found Martin’s Auto Service and they said «no problem we will get you fixed right up bring it on down.» They took my Chevelle right in. They only charged me for one hour of service when it took them four to fix it. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and AMAZING SERVICE. They saved the day and my trip! Thank you! Highly recommended.

Martins Automotive is great and friendly. Get you in quick and their prices are reasonable.

A close friend was having some major car issues. Martin’s was recommended by AAA. We called and explained that we would cover the costs as she is on a set income. Not only did they take us on a timely manner, they found all of the issues and due to the circumstances, they lowered the costs for us and resolved the problems. Everyone working there was professional, kind, and very knowledgeable. We could not be more happy, If we have car problems, ourselves, we will definitely go to them. I actually went to this place, because of the reviews on Google and Unilocal.I had a suspension problem and I first took it to Les Schwab and my former regular repair shop The Auto Clinic. I’ve always considered the Auto Clinic excellent, but this time around, I think they tried to pad the bill. Martin’s fixed my car for what amounted to half what Auto Clinic offered and on top of that, when I picked up the car, they said it actually wound up costing about $ 85 less! These guys were highly professional and friendly, and on top of that honest. You can’t get a better deal than that. Also, a word of advice, don’t use Les Schwab for anything but replacing tires and wheels. They know sh t about anything else.

Took my car there on short notice, Chuck and the guys were very helpful, fixed my car and were pretty reasonable with their prices. Have another repair and plan to take it back soon. Was a lot less than the other big box guys that are not dealers–

Martin’s Auto Service was able to fit me in with just a day’s notice to get my transmission serviced and AC charged up before leaving on a long trip. Their work was quick, professional and very reasonably priced. I will be returning for sure!

I found this shop by accident a number of years ago. The owner Marty was very helpful and I felt I could trust him to do the work right and at a fair price. I’m happy to bring my business to him!

While visiting Reno from San Francisco, my water pump went out on my Ford F350. The guys at Martin’s Auto Repair were able to get me in on the same day that I called. Repair was completed by the end of the day. Was very impressed with the honesty. Labor per hour charge was reasonble. I would recommend Martin’s to anyone needing car/​truck repair.

Marty and the crew go above and beyond the ‘call of duty’ and we’ve been very impressed with all of them. We live about three and a half hours away from Reno but we haul our vehicles over to Marty for both big and small repairs, he’s honest and reliable and knows his stuff. Oh, and did I mention he’s a heck of a nice guy and fun to go wheelin with?

My family and I have been going to Martins since we moved to Truckee in 2000. A Honesty Trustworthy Auto Shop! I didn’t even know those two went in a sentence together, But Marty and Larry are exceptional men.
I have been fotunate it enough to own 3 jeeps, therefore, We have experienced much of Marty and he is highly recommended!

My car refused to start one afternoon and after having a local mechanic take a look at it he recommended that I tow it over to Martin’s. Martin and the guys quickly found the issue — the second switch in my ignition had gone out. They found a good part at a good price (Jeep doesn’t sell these parts separately, only the entire steering column for about $ 1100).
When it came down to it, I owed Martin about $ 140 and it only took 2 days! Martin is a wonderful man and helpful. I would recommend this shop to anyone!

Vehicle was ready when promised, and the price was par for the market. Close access to the freeway. But now onto the real story…
Martin is a great guy who I discovered while on a four wheeling trip. I had a transfer case linkage issue which rendered the vehicle immobile. He climbed right under, and found/​fixed the issue, and helped me get back on the road home. Would not accept money, offer for lunch… just a handshake and a smile.
He also showed me the problem and gave me instructions on how to fix again if it ever became loose.
Found out later from other friends that he owned a local shop, and decided to give them a try. Was happy with everything from the estimate to the completed work.
