The pizza here is delicious and I have never had a problem with the servers. I’ve been coming here since I was a kid and will continue to come whenever I visit Rehoboth.

When I got to the counter, the cashier was figuring out something with the manager for a good 5 minutes. Then we ordered my tomato pie and consistently told this girl NOCHEESE because I’m lactose intolerant. We waited for another 45 minutes for our pizza(after it sitting on the counter for awhile and us saying something about our order), opened it up, and it was cheese– filled. Great. I went back and said something and to their defense, they said that I requested the cheese with pepperoni. Um no, I told her no cheese 5 times. Suggestions for their«Grab N Go» Service: 1. Train your staff better on how to use your machines so they don’t mess up customers orders. Cashiering is a stressful job and to put someone blindly on the register with no help is a disaster. 2. Don’t ever blame your customer for your mistake. Good customer service won’t do that.

Came in last night about 1, they were still open but the dining room was closed for the evening. My son had to use the bathroom and the cashier explained that 1 person ruined the bathroom usage for everyone because they assaulted an employee a while ago. I get it, things happen but I feel that when you spend 27 dollars for a pizza you should let someone use the bathrooms. Isn’t this a family hotel?

Great pizza place… Only it is way more than just pizza. There are many food choices, there is a bar attached(and they will even bring drinks to your table), and open dining room glass doors that face the ocean for an incredible view of the boards and beach. Love it. The pizza was crispy and cheesy with a great presentation(swirled sauce). Must go.

Best pizza in the world coming from a true Italian! I’ve been eating here since I was a kid and I’m so grateful for Unilocal that I get to finally give them the stellar review they deserve! With a paucity of reviews, I’d caution you not to be dissuaded by the 3-star rating as the pizza here is definitely a solid 5-stars. If you like mushrooms, I highly recommend ordering it with extra mushrooms – it’s crazy good! There sauce is to die for and there crust is just the right amount for those carb conscious people! This is a no brainier if you’re looking for great pizza! It promises not to disappoint! Living in LA now, this is my favorite restaurant to hit when visiting my old stomping grounds!

Family friendly pizza place; great if you have kids. The pizza is good mostly because of nostalgia — though it does seem to hit the spot after a morning on the beach. We pair it with garden salads, which were very fresh. Grotto is always a must visit spot when coming to Rehoboth.

Wish I could give zero stars. This place is filthy. We left without ordering and walked around the corner to the Grottos on Rehoboth Ave, which was much nicer.

Pizza was delicious! We got a large pepperoni and it and quickly. The service was great. Our server, Ben, was attentive and friendly. The only issue I didn’t realize was toppings past cheese, are $ 3 each. I didn’t read the menu so it’s my fault but I was surprised. I would definitely eat here again but I would order cheese pizza :)

The BEST pizza in Rehoboth! I love sitting by the boardwalk with a beer and pizza! A must if you are in the area!

Pretty much THE pizza place in the area and with limited choices during the off season at 9pm it may have been a gamble but starving people can’t argue with an open sign and the prospect of pizza. The pizza is not the best but its acceptable and filling. Their signature pies come loaded with toppings and a side of some boneless wings weren’t bad either. The wings were not made in house so their nothing to go out of your way for, but if your hungry and you want more than a pizza they make a nice accompaniment. A pie and a dozen wings fed 4 people very well. Service was great and very attentive for a late Thursday night as well. Don’t expect any NY style pizza, this is based on being almost on a beach in a tourist town with more drunk people than sober people to feed. It gets the job done and is done pretty well.

How awesome! At the Midway Tanger outlet Grotto had a food truck. This was perfect since there aren’t any food options there except for the crab sandwich food truck. One slice had me hooked. After shopping we were so famished we had to have a whole pie. Service was great! A whole pie only took 5 min. Does that mean the crust was precooked or they just reheated a whole pizza? Maybe our timing was just perfect. Well, it was fresh with just the right ratio between sauce and cheese with each swirl. I definitely prefer the thin crispy crust verses the chewy crust on typical pizzas.

This pizza is so gross. Anyone who lives north of Delaware is going to find this stuff unbearable

The only thing I’ve had at this location is their gelato. On a hot day, it really is refreshing to have something sweet and cold. I’m lactose intolerant and I was truly excited to see that they offer not one, but 2 choices of dairy free gelato flavors(Strawberry and Lemon). I asked the young lady at the counter if I could get a medium size cup and if she could mix the 2 flavors for me. She happily obliged. Both flavors were very tasty! and CREAMY! but non dairy! yay! Strawberry seemed just a tad bit too sweet. If I were to go back, I’d only order the lemon. But all in all, it was good! Nice location — right on the boardwalk and across from the walkway to beach.

Gettin my swirl on. It’s not the greatest pizza on earth but it is a staple and our condo is right next door so how could I NOT have some Grotto on this trip?! We ordered the Grand Fiesta pizza and the Marguerite pizza. The Marguerite is my favorite and lower calorie than the others! #pizza #grottopizza

best pizza ive ever had? no. good enough that i ate it three times during a 36 hour stay in rehoboth? yes… a few slices of that swirly cheese pizza and a garden salad reeeeeeally hits the spot after bumbling around on the boardwalk for hours(or beefing up your leg muscles by walking on those god damn sand dunes)

After our meal last night, I feel compelled to warn others against coming in here. Service was super slow; other people got up and left while we were there, having never been acknowledged. They were lucky. My husband’s burger barely resembled meat. It was obviously a frozen patty that had been microwaved. It was a light grey-brown. My boli was so hot, I could barely touch it for several minutes. It was edible; my husband ate the other half so he could have something. The children said their slice of pizza was good. The server never asked how the food was or why my husband sent back a burger with one bite taken out of it. All of the food came out at different times. First the burger. Then a few minutes later, the boli. Then the kids’ slices of pizza. What’s a real problem here is cleanliness. The place is overrun with flies, even in the restroom(don’t get me started on the restroom). At first I thought it was a fluke, maybe because they have an open door. But we’ve eaten in other places here that don’t have that problem. My son accidentally spilled a glass of ice(of course his water was empty; don’t expect refills) and since it happened before the food came, I pointed it out to the server. She just shrugged and said, «Okay.» I said that he’d like a refill on the water. No response. I added that I also didn’t want her or anyone to slip on the puddle. She said, «Thanks.» No one ever came to clean up the puddle and it was on the way to the restroom. If they don’t care about the customers falling, they might at least care about themselves. As we left, I noticed the incredible amount of garbage(food, napkins, etc.) under the tables where someone had eaten. It was completely disgusting. In one case, we’d seen the family that had been at the table and they didn’t put the garbage there. Someone came along with a broom and swept discarded napkins under the table instead of into the bin. I shudder to think what was happening in the kitchen. To our delight and surprise, no one got food poisoning. I honestly expected someone was going to be sick after our experience. The sign out front says«Grotto’s: a restaurant.» It verges on false advertising. There are too many good options around here to waste your time and gamble against having digestive distress on this place.

Alright– these four and five star reviews must be plants from . I’m reminded of that line from Seinfeld where they say«this is not harder than putting on your pants – so my question is, who is putting on your pants?» Pizza on a boardwalk? The bar is low. I mean low. How hard is it to make an acceptable pizza? Apparently harder than putting on pants because everyone working there had pants. This is pizza that if you paid $ 4 for an entire frozen pie cooked at home you would toss the leftovers rather than save it for later. If you told me this was Red-Barron I’d wonder if you were right. I’m not a pizza snob – but this crap – how do they have so many locations?

Let’s lay our cards on the table about Grotto Pizza. They are everywhere in Rehoboth Beach. The wait staff are all kids under twenty. It’s beach food, PLAIN and SIMPLE. Literally. That said, I tried Grotto’s for the first time in the many years I’ve been traveling to RB. If you must choose one, visit the boardwalk Grotto’s. I had slices of cheese pizza and an antipasto salad. Again: plain, simple. The food came out. The wait staff was nice. I got a check, paid, left. I decided to visit again for lunch the very next day. Same deal: wash, rinse, repeat. The food was tasty, inexpensive, and I was in and out. Bottom line: This is a beachside family restaurant. You will see small children here, you will see people in bathing suits and shorts and who should probably put on more clothes before 1) stepping into a restaurant; and 2) showing me more skin, wrinkles, flab and fat that I ever wish to see again on a bunch of unattractive people. But I digress. Linda, the front door hostess, is a charmer and a wonderful woman who acts as a den mother and knows how to keep things moving and pleasant. Make sure you say hello to her. In fact, you’ll come back for her as much as a good, cheap meal.

I only get out to Delaware once a year. So, I wait for Grotto all year long and they never disappoint. The pizza is perfect for a hot day at the beach. I love the way they spread the sauce on top of the cheese. Who thought of this??? Enjoy a slice on the beach with some Thrasher’s fries and a Coke and then some Dolle’s caramel corn for dessert. Basically a perfect day!
