We recently worked with Bret Evans to sell our condo in Redwood Shores. We had a pocket listing that was contingent on the successful offer on a different property. As a result, the sale was extremely time sensitive. Despite these obstacles, Bret was able an offer that was over the ask price within two weeks of listing. While that buyer later backed out due to a delay on our end, Bret was again able to generate a multiple offer situation on the condo within 24 hours by reaching out through his network so that we would not lose our offer on the other property. Without Bret’s work, we would not now be living in our new house.

I am an engineer working in sf and just bought my first house in Foster City with Bret and his assistant Lulu’s help. I am writing this review two weeks after the deal was closed so that my excitement will not overwhelm my rational mind.
I started looking at open houses with my fiancée from the beginning of June. Bret showed up almost every weekend in the following 3 months and tirelessly introduced every house to us. He helped us to read through the disclosure (they are not short at all) of every house we are interested in and very carefully reminded us the problem which may cost us a high price to fix. At the end, he helped us to get our home in a very competitive neighborhood by a pre-​offer with a right price to avoid multiple-​offer situation.
As a buyer agent, not like some others who want to finish their job on the buyer side as fast as they can, he never pushed us to offer. In contrast, he always honestly pointed out potential problems when we were thinking about an offer.
Someone has said, the most important job of an agent for a first-​time buyer is not to win a bid among 20 offers, but to educate the buyer to get an idea of what type of property he/​she wants to live in. Bret, in this perspective, is an excellent teacher. He grew up and lives locally on peninsula for so many years. From Millbrae to San Carlos, he can tell stories for every city. We just moved to bay area for half a year, but with his help, we aimed our target at Foster City and Redwood shore very quickly within the first month.
We are native Chinese speakers, Bret sometimes could not catch our points very well. But his Chinese assistant Lulu did excellent translation between us. My parents visited us from China in the summer and went to most of open houses with us. When Bret were talking with us in English, Lulu translated to my parents and took are of them very well.
Overall, if you are looking for an honest and efficient agent, you SHOULD visit Bret. If you speak Mandarine but are still looking for a native agent, you MUST find Bret and Lulu.
