Amy is an awesome realtor and a great person. She first helped us over 5 years ago sourcing a renter. Recently, we wanted to buy a condo in San Carlos and she managed to find us the perfect condo (off-​market). The condo met everything we were looking for (which I didn’t think was possible for our budget and timeline but she did it), she listened to our needs and was fair and realistic, gave us good advice and strategies. She is well connected and well respected by her peers and is essential in a realtor in this market for buyers or sellers. I would highly recommend her.

This review is well overdue and will not do Amy any justice to represent her integrity, loyalty and endless efforts to satisfy her clients. Amy helped us by our DREAM HOUSE about 2 months ago in Emerald Hills. We desperately wanted to move into this specific neighborhood because we love it and all of our friends are nearby. Amy went to serious lengths to make sure we got exactly what we wanted without compromising. She still kept us down to earth on what was actually feasible but didn’t stop us from dreaming and getting more than what we ever anticipated.
Let me start from the beginning…
We started looking for an agent in the Redwood City/​San Carlos/​Belmont area having just sold our condo in San Francisco living temporarily in San Carlos. Needless to say, we were itching to get out of our tiny apartment. Using only referrals from trusted friends, we interviewed 3 agents. Out of all three, Amy was the only person that wasn’t trying to «sell herself» to me. She actually gave me some excellent interview questions to ask the other agents… things that I hadn’t considered before. Like, «do you double ended sales?» or «how do you manage clients of yours that are looking in the same price range?» basically, they all get at the same question which is at what point will the agent be working in my best interest or their own. Honestly, she lacks the typical selfish, aggressive, lazy behavior I had encountered with other agents through this process. I half worried whether her pleasant personality would interfere with fighting for us to get what we wanted… boy was I wrong. She’s assertive but oh so professional that EVERYONE wants to work with her in the business. These connections put us at a serious advantage. Though we did put out 5 offers before getting our 6^th offer, that was merely a monetary issue, meaning that we didn’t have a lot of money. That being said, she got us a house that was less than asking! At one point she wanted to help us get something so bad, she offered up her own 5K to put on top of our offer just to give us an upper advantage.
Searching for a house is an intimate, stressful endeavor and takes time, Amy made sure that we understood that she would never push us to buy a house unless she truly believed it was what we wanted. She actually talked us out of quite a few places! We needed that honesty because when you’re stressed out and you really get exhausted of looking, you become very disillusioned. Somehow you lose sight of what you really wanted and settle for sub-​par. Amy never let this happen. She took us out so many times to see new places that hadn’t even had open houses yet and kept us focused.
Buying our house was not a typical transaction, she had to deal with some unusual and unprecedented incidences. Like the sellers agent screaming profanities at her on the phone, hanging up on her, insulting her, being extremely condescending and unprofessional to the point where the other agents manager had to carry out the rest of the sale. She also made sure that potential issues that came out of our inspections were taken care of so we weren’t stuck with a «new…broken house». Through all this she kept her cool and our spirits up. After all this, we felt like we had gained a very close friend. We really love her!
The thing is, I would have never expected so many bad things to come up when trying to buy a house and still be able to to enjoy the process. She’s just so efficient and competent at her job and communicates so well that we never felt it could get any better or easier, even under the worst circumstances. Amy is more than absolutely amazing. She knows everything, everyone and has such a warm, strong, supportive, loving personality. Though we don’t envision buying a house any time soon, in my opinion, Amy is the only agent anyone should consider. We will still call her for advice and house help. She’s just that good to her friends and clients even after their sale/​purchase is done.

I first met Amy through friends almost 20 years ago. She helped me find a rental house. A few years later she helped me buy a house. She tirelessly took me around to houses in all different areas on the peninsula.

Amy helped my partner and me buy a house in San Carlos 15 years ago. A year later, she helped my parents (who lived out of state) buy a house in Belmont. Last year, after my mom passed and my dad moved to a retirement community, she helped sell that house. Market conditions and negotiations were different in each case. Amy understood the market and gave excellent advice.
She is very good at figuring out what her clients want (my partner and I had very different wants from my parents, e.g.) and working flexibly in a variety of conditions.
In all our transactions, she went out of her way to help with more than just the sale itself. She hired and supervised contractors, who did high quality work and were trustworthy. One of the biggest worries for me (physically and emotionally) was how I was going to clear stuff out of my parents’ house. Amy arranged for an estate sale and brought in an antique dealer for the more valuable stuff. She even picked up stuff at my house and added it to the estate sale.

Probably nothing sums up my experience with Amy as much as the straight facts: she sold us our first home, back in the mid-​90s. We called her again to list that home for sale 15 years later. And I plan to buy again within the next year, and yep — Amy again.
Let me unpack that a bit:
A first-​home purchase is so emotional, so confusing, so terrifying. Amy’s patience and humor helped to deal with all three. When it turned out there was all kinds of emotional baggage and misbehavior on the seller’s side, Amy shielded us from all of it. She even contacted the seller’s agent when she felt the house wasn’t in acceptable condition to turn over to us. (Only heard about that after all the dust settled!)
Fast forward to us being in the sellers’ seat, and this time, my ex and I are mid-​divorce. Trust me: even if you see your divorce as pretty straightforward and business-​like, Stuff. Will. Come. Up. Amy helped us to navigate some very uncomfortable waters, steering firmly forward the entire time.
More importantly — and this matters no matter what your personal situation is: she put the house on an absolutely moribund market, got us multiple offers, and sold it in eight days. EIGHT DAYS when real estate was dead in the water!
Now with the market ticking upward and inventory tight, I’m turning to Amy again to find another quirky, unusual home at a price I can live with. (I’m sure she does just as well with mundane, cookie-​cutter housing, but — because she *really listens*, she knows what to show me and what not to bother with. ;)
One more thing tells you a lot about Amy: in all these years I’ve known her, I’ve watched her deal with buyers and sellers of every economic status. She works exactly as hard for a multi-​millionaire buying a family compound as she does for a young family squeezing every penny. She loves getting people into the best home she can find for them, period, and no budget is too small.
I admire her greatly and endorse her work without qualification.

I was really happy with Amy, tho to be fair as a first-​time home buyer it was the experience with the process I appreciated more than anything else. Amy took us around to see a variety of homes in our price range, and kept up on the latest new ones that came onto the market.
We ended up putting an offer on one of the first ones we saw, which went through, so we were probably pretty easy clients from her point of view.
We’re not looking to move any time soon, but when the time comes, I’ll definitely have Amy in mind.
