Terrible experience with mommy and me dance class. The instructor has no idea how to deal with toddlers. It was our first time so my 2 yr old was trying to acclimate and went and got a teddy bear, these soft things make her feel comfortable. The instructor grabbed it away from her, causing a melt down. We left the class and won’t be back.

My 5 yr old daughter attended this school for the 2013 – 2014 and 2014 – 2015 years. She did the ballet/​tap class and loved both of her teachers. The June recitals were always very smooth and efficiently ran with little to no hiccups. Very good job considering all the small children that are being led and organized to perform! A cd is provided of the entire show and costume to keep.
Overall my experience was great and I’d recommend the school to anyone in the area with a young daughter that would like to explore dance. We currently do not attend as we are exploring other extra curricular activities on the weekend and don’t have time for dance anymore.
Crystal, one of the staff, was very helpful when I called with help on my account. The company is professionally run and I’ve personally never heard of anyone who’s experience is not the same.

The school of dance and music has been teaching my 16 year old daughter how to dance like an angel since she was 3. In addition, they have given her valuable lessons about how to work hard, push yourself and the values of friendship!

My three girls have been taking dance classes with the School of Dance and Music since they were each 3 years old. The oldest, now 8, dances several hours a week and has had the pleasure of working with almost all of their ballet and jazz teachers. The Redondo location is just one of three, so there are numerous times and classes to choose from for each age group and level. The teachers are all fabulous, each with a long resume of accomplishments. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgable. Whether you are looking for a beginning class for your toddler to have some fun in or an advanced class for your prima ballerina to try out for, they have it all. For the more serious dancer each style has its own ‘dance company’ in which the students have a chance to perform at local venues. And the ballet company’s annual show at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center each Spring is not to be missed!

My daughtet started at age 3 and loved it! She is now 8−½ and still love love ballet with the instructors here at Redondo Beach SDM. The staff is helpful and friendly all the time.

I enrolled my granddaughter on the ballet/​tap class on Saturday mornings. Her teacher Miss Emily is wonderful and very patient. She herself deserves 5 stars. Unfortunately their billing department is not competent. I still waiting for an answer about a refund that was shorten without an explanation.

I love this dance Studio, they have wonderful teachers there and the staff is always so friendly. I am 22 years old and I can Definitely say that this studio is great for all ages. I love all of my classes that I take there as well.

Great studio and wonderful, dedicated teachers. We have been clients since 2006. it is amazing to watch how our daughters have grown technically and artistically each year.

My daughter has been coming here for almost three years and we love it! The friendly faces and helpful staff are just the thing to make for good end of a hectic day. Ive always wanted to take singing lessons so I finally built up the courage to take one. I looked this place up and called them… This young woman, Natasha, was So friendly and so willing to help me figure out what would work best for me and explaining the process. She set me up with an AMAZING instructor, Matthew. I was a little reluctant, but now after meeting him and taking my first lesson I realize how lucky I am to have been placed with such a talented, experienced, and driven instructor. Made me feel super comfortable. I can’t imagine having anyone else as my instructor. Thank you Natasha!

Best dance and music studio in the South Bay! Wonderful teachers at all three locations and excellent family communication throughout the year. My daughter has been attending classes here for the past 5 years — She loves it!

We have been at the studio for six years (or more?)…love the teachers… porfessional and enthusiastic, and love the staff… very helpful.

We love this studio!!! I have my daughter signed up for ballet and tap classes and we absolutely love it here! We’ve tried other local dance studio and this one is the best! There is no comparison! Staff is great and most of all organized and friendly! After only the 2^nd week of classes they made us feel like family! We have finally found our home! I know my daughter is in GREAT hands!

Last year my daughter was taking the 3 – 4 year old ballet/​tap classes over at the Hermosa School. This year when we tried to go back, her 4 – 5 year old ballet/​tap class was full, so we moved to the Redondo School.
We are signed up for single classes and I have to call every week to reserve my daughter a spot. Understandably, that makes us a low priority over a student willing to pay the monthly fees up front.
Anyway, I really love this location. Probably because there are less than 5 students in her class, so the instructor (Lucy) is able to give each child a little more attention. Lucy keeps the children’s attention for the whole class and watches their movements to help them fine tune their poses. She isn’t overly critical so that this is still fun for the children.
The Cost:
In anticipation of her fickle attitude, we are paying a little extra to have to take single classes, and we wouldn’t feel forced to go when we didn’t want to.
Their program is you pay one month’s tuition in advance, plus prorated tuition for the current month. The tuition is automatically charged every 4 weeks. You have to give them (I believe it was) 1 months advance notice before cancelling. Not a huge fan of this business practice so we just pay $ 22 per class, and miss classes here and there, which works well. We were given the option to either leave a credit card on file, or pay for the class when we show up. They are very accommodating.
I hope this time my daughter stick it out the entire school year. We are considering signing her up for the recital, in hopes that this will give her a goal.

We have been enrolled in Hermosa School of dance and Music since 2005. First, my daughter Lucy in ballet and Jazz, then my daughter Darby in both dance and violin, and at times even I have been enrolled in a hip hop class!
The Staff Has Always been friendly and helpful, I’m always amazed that with the amount of student running in and out on daily basis they remember not only our faces, but our names! They have been accommodating by always offering make-​ups. At times even calling to offer available open slots.
The teachers at Hermosa are incredible! Fun, cute, enthusiastic, and talented are just few words that would describe them. They work hard with their students, but everyone always has a smile on their face. One thing I’m truly impressed with is the student evaluation that is sent home toward the end of the year. The detailed comments, suggestions, remarks, and observations show how much the teacher know your child and care about their future success in dance and music.
The annual recital at the Redondo Beach Performing arts Center is not to be missed! This show never ceases to amaze me. It’s truly a professional presentation that showcases all the levels of dancers in their school. One moment you are laughing at the darling 3 and 4-​year-​old ballerinas in their tutus, and the next you are blown away by the skills of an advance Hip-​Hop Team.
I have had fun on both sides of the studio glass. I have brought friends to join a class with me and made friends watching our children every week. I am very happy to be part of the HSDM family

Redondo School of Dance and Music have the best teachers around. The instructors are all very warm and encouraging. Highly recommend to anyone.
I do want to warn about the office staff — unfortunately not that good and why I rated them only three stars. Not very professional. Twice I had waited on the phone for more than 5 minutes with only to call back to tell me «sorry, just call back.» Really?
Still recommend for the brilliant instructors.
