Located in the heart of the beach cities, we have a strong passion for dance and its benefits. Our mission is fitness and well-​being and we offer an extensive range of programs for all levels, as well as dance parties and special events. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, you can learn and grow in a friendly and comfortable environment! Our fantastic staff of top professional instructors will focus on you as the dancer, and even in a group class you’ll receive our personal attention. From salsa to foxtrot, from swing to cha cha, from private couple’s lessons to social dances, we do it all with beginners and competitors and everyone in between!

You Can Dance Studio is proud to be a part of the South Bay dance community! Our dance studio was created by mom and daughter team, Irina Trebunskaya and Anna Trebunskaya, with the idea that people in the Beach Cities could find a place for all their dance needs!

Meet the Business Owner

Irina T.

Business Owner

Irina is the co-​owner of You Can Dance Studio with her daughter, pro DWTS dancer Anna Trebunskaya and was also her childhood dance instructor. Irina has a rich dance background as a competitor, instructor and manager of dance institutions. She was a Russian professional champion finalist and a U.S. Pro/​Am champion.

After a successful tenure as head instructor in Chelyabinsk (a well-​known Russian home for world champions), Irina opened and ran a dance studio in New York City. Her heart and passion is reflected in her teaching, instructor selection and teacher/​student mentoring. She has gone on to become a certified master of dance in all four styles: International Standard & Latin, American Rhythm & Smooth.

Rating is merely on customer service, or the lack of.
I sent them an inquiry online beginning of this week. I understand that it takes time for people/​company to respond. But it’s Friday now and I still have not received a response. Why offer a contact us section if you have no intentions in getting back to people.
This is my first and only impression of this dance studio.

Matt Mancuso was fantastic in choreographing our first wedding dance! We selected the upbeat tune of ‘Shut up and Dance’ by Walk the Moon, of which Matt worked splendidly to outline dance steps that met our personalities and capabilities. He was fun, energetic, and easy to work with. We would highly recommend taking dance lessons from Matt in preparation for any event!

So far it is great! We bought a 6 private lesson package in preparation for our wedding in August. We are working with Matt. He is really pleasant and very helpful. He is one of the best dance instructors that I have had and makes you feel very comfortable even though we are novices. So far, I feel confident that we will WOW our guests at the wedding.

You Can Dance Studio is an excellent venue for your next corporate event. I am the president of the Aerospace Employees Association Dance Club and we have been holding our dance classes at this studio for the past 5 years. The classes are taught by world class professional instructors who are experts at developing a solid dance curriculum as well as providing a fun and exciting way to bring people together. I highly recommend You Can Dance Studio as a venue for your corporation to experience the benefits of social dancing and as a means to better well being for your employees.

Just finished a beginners salsa class with my inexperienced boyfriend. Matt did an amazing job teaching him the basic steps! He is now on his way to being a salsa dancer :)
I would recommend this studio to anyone who is salsa deprived (lol), need a refresher course, or just want to have a blast.

Small, friendly, energetic dance studio ideally located in Hermosa Beach for me.
Instructors are talented, knowledgeable and patient with students.
Fantastic prices for the amount and quality of instructions. Monthly parties allow you to practice what you have learned. Good workout while meeting new friends.

This review is definitely overdue… My husband and I took dance lessons with Robert Porch before our wedding. Robert was absolutely GREAT! We wanted to do something a little different and more upbeat and fun than your traditional first dance. Robert put together and taught us a dance that was perfect for us! He made us look like we knew what we were doing and that we were actually good dancers! Everyone should take at least a dance lesson or two before their wedding and I HIGHLY recommend Robert!!! I can’t wait to go back and take dance lessons just for fun! Thanks Robert Porch!

When my fiancé and I decided we wanted more than an awkward/​boring first dance to a slow song, we went to You Can Dance Studio. Our private instructor Robert was very enthusiastic and wonderful! He created a dance that two VERY beginner dancers could follow, remember, and perform. And we learned it all in 9 lessons! To see how we did check out our videographer’s vimeo page. my new favorite salsa dance studio :) They’re fast paced so you need to know what you’re doing. I’ve taken several ‘beginners’ class elsewhere and I felt like I was wasting my time. I’m really glad my sister introduced me to You Can Dance! The 2 for 1 special is such a great deal!
The teacher, Adam, is a great salsa instructor and his dance choreography is different every time you take his class. He’s patient and he’ll make sure that you’re not left behind.
Guys: if this is your first time taking the class, don’t be discouraged. I’ve seen few experienced ladies in the class who’ll get a lil cranky if you can’t lead. Keep in mind that you’re taking a beginners class, you’re there to learn how to dance. If you take couple classes then you’ll get the hang of it.
Parking: i would recommend residential parking

I started classes there a few months ago for the Salsa Beginner class and I have to say it is such a fun group! I look forward to my Monday night, Salsa Dance classes! The teacher, Adam, is so patient and adds a variety of choreography that even if you have never danced before or are an experienced dancer (like myself) you never get bored!
Here’s the thing: Guys, we need more MEN! Don’t be shy, c’mon on out, we need you! Trust me when I say this is a beginner class so if you think you have two left feet you will be amazed at how well you can pick up the instruction. The ladies there are so happy when new men join us because it means we each have a partner… the women out number the men and well, it’s no fun for me when that happens.
So, yes, I do have a vested interest in recruiting more guys to come out ;)
Look at it this way, it is THE only time another man, besides my husband, is physically THAT close to me: D
We look forward to having you join us on Mondays at 7:45pm. You can pay as you go or buy a package. The classes are on-​going so don’t worry about waiting for a new session to begin. It is an ongoing class.
Oh, and P. S., the studio is beautiful, clean, professional, and classy!

I take my little girls here for tap and ballet. I also know they offer music classes here too. They take kids of all ages and the staff is very professional A There teacher is amazing and my girls love her. Both say they want to be dance teachers when they grow up now. lol. Recitals are super cute and well organized the last one was at the redondo beach performing arts center and was awesome.

At the last minute last year, my husband-​to-​be and I decided to take ballroom dance lessons so we wouldn’t look like the low Leaderboard scorers on Dancing with the Stars. He, being a professional couch-​sitter, and I being a wanna be hip hop star could have been a potential disaster at our first Wedding Dance.
We had previously received flyers from this studio, so we scheduled an introductory class.
The studio itself is small and cozy. We were paired with Max, a possibly Ukrainian king of all-​things-​ballroom with a slinky physique and heavily tanned an almost psychedelic golden orange hue.
Max began seeing how we moved together then apart. And then he immediately took us into his wedding choreography. After 2 more lessions, we looked and felt pimp enough to pull off this dance in front of our friends and family.
AND WE DID IT ALMOST PERFECTLY BUT HELLA CONFIDENTLY with the help of You Can Dance Studio!
Dance like nobody is watching you, and if EVERYBODY is watching you the rumba may save your life ;)

Very friendly dance instruction in Ballroom and Latin dances. They have Rueda parties (salsa in a circle) which is rare.
I have been taking ballroom classes at the studio with the performance team for half a year. I like the pacing of the class since I have dance experience and can pick up the steps relatively quickly.

My wife and I took classes to learn a choreographed first dance for our wedding. We absolutely loved Alina and loved learning the Rumba at YCD.
Alina was a great instructor. She taught us a lot of really fun moves. She was also really funny. I think her best line was, «Scott, you know the 5 year olds I teach make the same mistake!». Ummm… yeah, THANKS! :) Alina was really flexible with scheduling appointments around my crazy schedule (I travel for work). And most important, the first dance was flawless!
We were actually so well prepared that we were able to adapt on the fly when our DJ played an acoustic version of our first song, rather than the studio version that we’d been practicing. The intro to the acoustic version was different, but we were able to adapt on the fly and we were quickly back in sync with the lyrics… a big thanks to the excellent (and really fun) training at YCD.

I am a beginner in dance and wanted to try out Ballroom Style dance. I found You Can Dance Studio on the Internet and gave them a call. The receptionist helped me find the appropriate group class for me that suited my schedule and skill level.
I went to the class and had a blast! I wish my work schedule would allow me to go every night. Luckily my package of group classes can be used when I have the time. I even went out to the club and showed off my sweet Salsa moves.
There prices were Great and the teachers made me laugh. Matter of Fact I’m going back tonight.
I recommend this studio to anyone who wants to get into Ballroom Latin or social dance. It worked for me.

Our wedding is coming up soon and we have been trying to find a dance studio. My fiancé is a bit picky and he finally enjoyed the instructor found here at the YCD Studio! Yay!
We went to an introductory lesson last night and we both had a great time. The steps were explained in a great way and the instructors were VERY patient.
Highly recommend this studio if you are looking to improve your dancing skills or are like us – trying to get your moves down for the «first dance»…
