Simbas Auto

I took my 65 mustang in and they said my carburetor was bad. I had it replaced and then my troubles with these incompetent morons began, they installed the carburetor and left the air filter post inside the carburetor intake and set the air filter on top crooked with the wing nut sitting on top to fall in. They charged me $ 500 for the carburetor and I find it base price for $ 337.95. They connected the pcv valve hose to the back of the carburetor which the manual specifically states not to do, it is for power brakes. They left a hose from my engine just loose next to the carburetor! These people are incompetent thieving pieces of crap.

Amin, the Manager is great. Fit me in, without an appointment. Made a fair price estimate, his Technician Jeremy did excellent work. Job well done, would recommend to anyone.

I’ve been going to Amin for almost all of my car repairs since he started working at the Redmond 76 location, and not only is he the nicest mechanic you’ll ever meet, he has excellent skills and very quick service. I have never had any problem with any repairs that he has made on my Acura and he has done all my annual services for years now. I would definitely suggest Simba’s repair service if you are located in the greater Redmond area if you are looking for a more personal, friendly, and local repair service rather than taking your car to a large dealership repair shop.

The owner is a nice guy, really nice but the mechanic is not someone I would ever let touch my vehicle. He looked my husband in the face today and told him that transmission fluid does not expand… Really? Wow I can’t believe they hired some one that dose not even know that :-(. They replaced our transmission and over filled it. Now that we are having problems with the transmission they won’t even really drive it. They say it’s fine with out checking? Then the mechanic told my husband he was an idiot for thinking that the fluid expand with heat… who is the idiot? Also who talks to they’re customers like that? Best advice I can give stay away!

I heard good things from this shop and needing to get my clutch replaced. Simba’s service charge was much, much below the dealership’s price for service and I figured I would give them a shot. I ended up finding out why… Unfortunately I had my clutch go out twice in two months after their work. I was told because «I had them install an aftermarket part that is the reason the clutch failed.» I feel that excuse a complete crock. Especially when this company makes OEM clutches for all major car manufacturers (Japanese, Domestic, European) and it was an organic, single-​plate clutch… Nothing too complicated or special. I was told also by the shop that I had picked a «good clutch kit» after the work was done on the initial replacement and they asked me what manufacturer made it.
After it failing the second time (and having to pay for both of the jobs, not to mention the same two OEM (i.e. official dealership) parts that failed… I had them do the work yet again. I had them drive the car immediately after ‘fixing’ it the second time to see that a problem was still there… He said «oh I should have test drove the car». WHAT?!? After you install a transmission YOU NEED TO DRIVE IT to make sure it is operating normally. Not to mention, after two failures it only makes sense to make sure the work was done properly…
I eventually took my car to a dealership and it was fixed. Now the clutch pedal is working much, much better with no soft/​hard mix of clutch pedal travel as well as no clutch grabbing issues that plagued the other two jobs. Either it wasn’t bled properly or there were other install issues that I am not aware of. I now go to other shops that install and warranty their work regardless of the parts chosen. The ones that don’t hide behind the «you supply the parts and get no warranty» BS… I learned a lot from this place and it is a wake-​up call in trying to save a buck on service fees.
Pros:
–Amin is a genuinely nice person and his customer service is great. He was kind enough to offer me a couple of rides and I have no complaints when it comes to his customer service. This may be contradictory with my review but I have no problem with him, I just wish he had a better mechanic.
–There is a very quick turnaround and they work nights which will make your car be done and available much faster.
Cons:
–I don’t think the mechanic understands transmissions (I wish I had read Luka’s review before going there) and if they do not test drive the cars after major car maintenance and two failures, then god knows what other corners the mechanic cuts in his work.
–They dented the metal plate around my shifter when dropping the transmission out of my car.

I recently decided to have Simbas Auto complete an oil change on my car. The technician working on my car was awesome. He even recommended new wiper blades on my car which he installed at no cost to me. I couldn’t believe the level of professionalism shown at Simbas Auto. I highly recommend my family and friends (and you) to this place. You can trust that they will be honest, reliable and fair. For me they went above and beyond. Thank you Simbas Auto !

Excellent service.
I adore people who take pride in what they do, and this man cares about his customers and his work. Went in for a standard oil change, he made sure he quoted me exactly so there were no suprises.
Finished when he said he would, and he went above and beyond by cleaning my car and taking care of a brake problem I was having free of charge. Thank you, kind sir.

Outstanding service!
Simba has become our car service place of choice for both our cars. We used to service the Prius at the Toyota dealership and for the Volvo we have shopped around at many places, most often being either unsatisfied with the quality of service or with the prices which seemed unreasonably high. All of that changed with Simba. Amin the owner is very focused on giving you the best possible service and that means the following — fixing the car quickly, doing it well and being very reasonable with the prices. Recently I had to change the Turbo on the Volvo — I gave it to a service place in Bellevue and they kept the car for 6 months before finally fixing it. But they didn’t fix a leak in the tubes which caused the engine coolant to drain very quickly. So they did a half baked job while giving me a hefty bill. When I took it to Simba, he immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Amin has over 30 years of experience in this business and it shows. They recently moved to Redmond from Mercer Island and guess what — many of their Mercer Island customers bring their vehicles to him. Not a surprise at all. A gem of a business!
