This place ROCKS! it truly has such an incredible selection of novelty beers and wines! I am really into European beers, Abby beers and they have a wonderful selection you will not find everywhere. The peeps are so friendly too and its nice to just hang out.

Pretty disappointing service on my third time in. Bugs flying all throughout the inside and the outside was even worse. Tried to sit inside and ended up with three bugs inside my fiancé’s glass of wine. Asked them to swap it out with a bug free wine, apparently that was a ridiculous request as it was declined immediately. Pretty disappointing can’t get a drink without bugs in this facility. Won’t be coming back any time soon.

We have been here several times. They are always well informed and make great recommendations. Their prices are reasonable and hey always have a great rotating tap list. We love their patio seating as its a great place to sit for a pint, order food from one of the nearby take out locations (who will deliver) and play games with friends. Make sure to park in the back as the main parking lot can be quite full. They also allow dogs on the patio if you have a friendly quadruped.

We really like Malt and Vine for it’s relaxed atmosphere and the option to sit outside (very beergarden-​ish).
The selection is pretty good and I love the good choice of European beers. The only thing that really annoys the heck out of me (hence only 3 stars), is the attitude of the guys serving the beer. I love German hefeweizen and there is an art on how to pour it to make sure the yeast on the bottom is dissolved and you need to pour this beer with a crown of foam. Every single time I got there, they literally ruin the beer by pouring it like any other beer from the fridge. I asked them if I can pour myself or if they could do it the traditional way (45 degree angle, pour most of it, shake the rest to loosen the yeast on the bottom and pour with a nice thick crown of foam)… the only thing I got was poor attitude and wasted my $$ because the beer doesn’t taste how it should. They were really rude about it and told me that they do this for some time now and know how to pour a glass of beer.
Guys, I am not here to insult your beer pouring, I am telling you in a nice way, that this is not how it should be poured and try to improve the quality of hefeweizen you serve. It is wasted money if it’s not done the right way and the yeast is stuck at the bottom of the bottle and get’s thrown out. This is simply a nice nudge in the right direction to get you guys to master this kind of beer as good as all the others.
Next time, less crappy attitude and just accept how people want their beer to be poured. I think if I buy it, I should have a say on how I like it.

Malt & Vine is a unique venue that is not quite a liquor store and isn’t quite a bar. It would be more like if a microbrewery and a ⁷⁄₁₁ had a weird love child. I come here a lot, usually because the beers served here go particularly well with a gyro from the place next door.
Awesome things: Rotating selections so you won’t get bored, outside seating, unique and huge assortment of bottled imports that are difficult to find around the area, friendly and knowledgeable staff members, allows food to be brought in from restaurants around the area, whoever is managing the music selection has really good taste, excellent location for Eastsiders.
Not-​So-​Awesome things: Prices can be steep for beers on tap (probably necessary if they want to pay Redmond rent), extra charge to drink bottled purchases on-​site, can get really crowded right after 5 pm, limited indoor seating with slightly awkward table placement, closes relatively early, sometimes the selection can be unbalanced. The last time I came here there were 4 IPA’s on tap and no brown ales, ambers, or bocks. IPA’s are like the easiest thing to find in the PNW (it practically rains IPA here), so I feel like that is some wasted space for other types of beer that could get more exposure.

Malt and Vine. What can I say?
As a store for specialty beer, as well as ciders and a limited selection of wines, Malt & Vine can’t be beat. As a place to get a pint to drink on-​site, they don’t have a lot of «ambience», but the people behind the counter know their stuff — and you can bring in food from anyplace nearby (Gyros, Teriyaki, Korean BBQ, Romio’s pizza, and even McDonalds are nearby). And on a nice day, the outdoor tables are a hit.
Glad to have them in Redmond.

The crowd was dominated by single male geeks intent on their PC or smartphone screens. The crowd became more varied as the afternoon passed.
BEER: 4.5. An unhoppy Austrian pilsner made me happy. On tap. Steigl was the name, though it is rotated with other good European pilsners such as Bitburger. My partner had Framboise — if that had been on tap I’d rate the BEER a 5.0.
AMBIANCE: Inside: 2.0. Tables are next to loudly humming refrigerators.
Outside: 3.5. South-​facing next to a bike trail, on asphalt in the small rear parking lot.
SERVICE: 4.5. Bartender kindly offered to keep the Framboise that remained in the bottle in the fridge until my partner was ready for it.

shame on me for not writing a review sooner! while i am not a serious regular, my friends come here on a weekly basis (for years) and i’ve been here more than i can count, doug the owner has always been a great host, beer expert and has made this place a local hot spot. they have a great selection of beer and wine to purchase, kegs options and great rotation on tap (wine and beer). snacks are available to purchase but you can have your local restaurant deliver food to you if you are hungry (pizza, burgers, sandwiches).
friendly and leashed pets are welcome and a back area for outdoor seating is open on non-​rainy days. a water cooler is also avail for those who need to hydrate. drink your beer there or take it home-​up to you.
clean establishment and friendly folks behind the counter.

Recently discovered this gem of a place and love it already… great place to relax and grab a few drinks… really good selection of beer and wine.
Do remember though that folks under 21 aren’t allowed.
We will keep coming here regularly since it’s so conveniently located in the heart of Redmond.

The perfect place for a relaxing beer. 27 taps and as many bottles as you can imagine (I think it is near 1000 but I don’t actually know.)
The staff is great and Malt n Vine is known as a good place for a beer at lunch if you like. Taps are a mix of local, Belgian, international cider and 5 wines. They have a wine selection that I know nothing about.
No food, but they carry menus for local delivery and have terryaki, Korean and a Gyro place right next door that will bring your food over.

Great concept and a wide selection of beers both on tap and bottled! Smaller wine selection than I wanted, but the variety of beers certainly made up for that. Although I didn’t order anything, my boyfriend got a beer and he loved it. Their prices are fair too.
The concept is really awesome. It’s a bar/​store that you can bring outside food into. The place was pretty packed tonight. I wish we had stayed for more than one drink. I would have loved to sample everything!

This is a good place to bring in some carry-​out from some of the businesses close to Malt & Vine and have a few beers for lunch. It’s reasonable close to my work location so this is the primary reason I checked out M&V. There’s plenty of seating where you can lounge and enjoy your lunch.
They have a reasonable large set of taps (figure around 20) with some of the best selections of beers. I have to say they are good at choosing some of the beers I enjoy.
I normally don’t buy bottles, so not much to say about this part of M&V. This is a layout similar to what you’d see at Chuck’s on the Seattle side, but not as kid and dog friendly as going to Chuck’s.

Only complaint I sometimes find myself having is that this place is so awesome, sometimes it’s too awesome, and there’s limited seating — you do the math. If you don’t mind standing for a couple rounds before a spot opens up, then no worries! There is an indoor area as well as an outdoor area.
Regularly pleasing craft tap selection (I require gluten-​free and as such stick to the ciders), which you can always get a rough idea of on their website before stopping by. Really good bottle selection as well.
Also, awesome service! Everyone there has always been laid back and friendly.
No food is served there (except some bagged snacks/​chips), but you’re welcome/​encouraged to bring in food outside (tip: use the Eat24 app and get delivery brought to you, voila!).
If you’ve been to Beer Authority on Lake City Way, this is a similar type of joint.

I just found this place almost by accident yesterday and I was pretty stoked with what I found here. I walked in and was pretty impressed by the selection of beers they had. I love beer, but I am not a «beer expert». I would say half of their selection of beers I’ve never even seen before.
Service wise, they were awesome too. I said «I have a strange question… but if I told you I was having coconut chicken for dinner what beers would you suggest?» The dude came out from behind the counter and spent 3 – 5 minutes talking me through a few options and helped me pick something out. It was a perfect pairing BTW.
Looking forward to getting back here and bringing some friends. Why hang at a boring Starbucks when you could enjoy a pint of some really great beers?
It also looked like they even had a better selection of Drafts that you can fill your growler with, than Bevmo. However Bevmo does seem to be a few bucks cheaper across the board.

Malt and Vine really is the coolest beer place on the Eastside, including all the breweries and tasting rooms we have here.
As a bottle shop, they tend to get bottles slightly faster somehow than other retail spots and their selection seems slightly better as well. I am a beer chaser and I always tend to find something at Malt and Vine that I can’t find elsewhere. For an example, a couple of months ago, I was able to find bottles of Mother of All Storms. This somewhat limited release beer comes out in Novemeber! Anyway.
As a beer bar, they tend to have something somewhat rare, good locals, cask and/​or nitro, and some foreign stuff on tap at all times. Something for everyone I would say. Their seating is pretty limited but when their patio is open (when the weather permits) there is no better place to be. They also throw great events. When Seattle used to get Russian River, Malt and Vine was one the few (if not the only) venues that got Pliny the Younger. I was fortunate enough to (skip work and) attend the very last event Malt and Vine held before Russian River pulled out of Washington. They had Pliny the Elder also on tap so the attendees could do a side by side tasting. It was a very well organized event. I also have been to Stone Brewing night where folks from Stone came and tapped some of their rarities (like 2007 Bourbon barrel aged IRS). Anyways you get the point.
They take credit cards but no one under 21 is allowed. This is the only thing I do not like about this place. Dogs are allowed in the patio. I am not a dog owner but I have seen dogs there.
Highly recommended!

Really I would put this at a 4.5 if only I wish they would do something about the paint (white walls?!?). But I digress… This place has a fantastic variety of beers and the best part is the plethora of restaurant options that deliver! Eat from just about anywhere you want and have all the best beer at your convenience.
But if I may add, if you’re going to have food delivered, don’t be a douche. Pick up your mess. Don’t expect the bartenders to bus your table. They serve beer and let you eat outside food as a courtesy. Don’t ruin a good thing :)

My husband has been coming here since July of 2013. After he told me how great it was for a few months, he FINALLY brought me in October. ;)
This establishment caries a fantastic selection of beer! Whatever mood for beer you are in, you will find that beer here!
We come in just about every other week. We alway take things to go, stay for a beer once in a while. Earlier this year we started asking the guys behind the counter for recommendations & we haven’t stopped asking since. We’ve had a different beer every time we’ve gone & have never been disappointed.
Tonight Curt gave us some AWESOME recommendations! We took 3 different beers to go. 2 of the 3 beers we took home tonight that we hung out & tried while we were there tonight. Curt really knows his stuff. I’d try any beer he is excited about!

I am definitely a fan! First, let me say that I am known to be picky on my beers, I don’t like them PNW hoppy bitter stuff that makes me cringe. So that being said, I have frequented here for some time now as many Happy Hours are held at this location on some part of the company I work for. So far, our vendors love the outdoor layout during the summer and the selections of beer are outstanding!
We enjoy the eastside theme of bringing your own food and then grabbing some drinks here. (OK, just added another star while trying to think of the bad things I have experienced here the last 20+ times I have been here… and they have been good to me so far!)
They have great service and communicate very well! They know their products and try their best to accommodate everyone. I have also attended their Friday tasting days and it is pretty darn amazing for what you get for such little money to experience the variety that is alcohol.
This place is very consistent and has never disappointed. Not a fancy atmosphere but, that’s what keeps this place low key and friendly feeling. You can grab and go or just pour and stay. Many options, many beers/​wines, great people, nice theme, always consistent. Pretty good parking (shared mall) and adventurous (changing selections of tap). Thanks! it keeps me on my fun toes as to what to try next at this establishment.

I don’t like beer. Never have, never will. But recently you awesome Unilocalers recommended a specialty beer for my upcoming Thanksgivukkah festivities, and I was advised to go to CostPlus. There, the sales guy said they were out of this brew, but he recommended Malt & Vine.
So I called M&V and the nicest guy on the phone said yes, they have that beer there in stock. And he said they were open until 10 pm (this was on Sunday!). And when I got there, man, I had no idea so many kinds of beer existed. People were drinking at small tables and the chatter was lively. The guy behind the counter couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful.
I got a great deal on some holiday variety packs of the beers I came for.
From now on, if it’s beer I need, this is the place I’m coming to.
