This was one of the best experiences that I have ever had with an auto mechanic. My boyfriend and I showed up desperate to Cary’s on our way to Shasta-​Trinity National Forest for my boyfriend’s birthday. Mike asked us to wait (and gave us a Roku controller to watch Netflix on) and told me that based on my description of my thermostat going into the red and coming back down, he didn’t think it would be an easy fix. He looked at my car almost immediately, checked everything, and then came back and explained what he had done, why he had done it, and that he did not see any obvious problems. He had one of his guys check the air in my tires (just to be nice!) and sent my boyfriend and me on our way without charge. I was expecting to pay quite a bit because I’ve been ripped off by mechanics before. But he is trustworthy! He takes pride in what he does (you can tell just by talking to him for a minute). I won’t forget how good this experience was. Gives me a little more faith in auto mechanics.

After being quoted for $ 1200 at Les Schuabs I brought it here for a second opinion. Best decision! He looked over my Subaru Tribeca and only charges me $ 350! What a difference! He’s amazing fast friendly with tons of knowledge! Glad to know that there’s still honest mechanic out there. Thank you.

The owner gave me a great deal on four brand new tires, and the service was quick and efficient. He didn’t have them in and had to order them, and it was unfortunately over the weekend, but they were there for me on Monday morning. I could understand how some people would find the owner a little abrasive, but he’s a sweet guy, and he runs a good shop.

My boyfriend had gotten an estimate to fix his car a few months ago, but knew he would have to wait until he got his tax return to be able to pay for it. Last week I made about 10 calls to different shops around town to compare estimates and find the best deal. Not only was Mike at Cary’s Automotive kind and helpful, but his estimate was far lower than any of the others I had gotten. The repairs took a little longer than anticipated, but heck, that could be for a variety of reasons that just can’t be helped. However, Mike stayed after closing, made sure the car was done and ready to go, and waited for us to come in and pick it up before he ended his work day. On top of that, the total for everything ended up being about $ 100 less than the estimate. Their pricing, helpfulness, and hard work was greatly appreciated!
