The Salon On Haven

I came here based on the Unilocal reviews, and I was not disappointed. I had a vision in mind, and my stylist Jackie delivered! I came in with a longer styled cut and brassy highlights weighing it down, and left with a cute long bob that is so complimentary. She listened to what I wanted and did such an excellent job. I will definitely be back!

I’ve been to several salons all over from MA, NC, and CA. This is by far the best out of all. Definitely found my go-​to salon for all my hair needs.
Jess is a miracle worker. She is very personable and listened to all my concerns and wishes for my hair. I had horrible roots from previous highlight jobs. Jess transformed my hair with a beautiful balayage/​ombré. My naturally black hair looks very natural with the caramel color which is exactly what I wanted. Jess definitely knows what she is doing!

This salon, and in particular Kelly, completely transformed my hair. I was an over-​processed blonde with a lot of gold (natural hair is dark brunette). I wanted to go darker with an ombré and tone out the gold. Not an easy thing to do in one session but Kelly pulled off a miracle and I couldn’t have been more pleased with the results. It was precisely the look I wanted. She was patient and thorough as we went step by step through the whole process. A shoutout to Liz, her assistant who was also awesome!
While I was there I discussed having extensions added as well. Kelly explained the process, we picked out colors and less than a week later I was back in the chair for part two of the transformation. Kelly knew exactly what she was doing and I was amazed at how quickly she put 100 strands of extensions in my head! It didn’t hurt at all (although she kept checking to make sure I was ok). The colors she chose were a perfect match and she blended my existing hair so that the look was seamless.
The salon is neat, clean and in my two sessions running completely on schedule. Lot’s of convenient parking nearby and reasonable pricing for the quality of work. I don’t write reviews nearly as often as I should but can’t help but write this because Kelly was so fantastic to work with. I’m happy to have found my new salon!

Kelly is my stylist and she is amazing. When I first came into the salon, I’d had a battle against my blue black hair that simply wouldn’t go blonde. For probably 4 – 5 months I’d been going to another salon and they were only able to lift me about 3 – 4 shades from black. Within two sessions Kelly had me at a beautiful blonde with minimal damage. I am extremely happy to have found such an experienced colorist and stylist. The salon is very clean and the receptionists are pleasant. It’s so refreshing to go to a salon and be treated like the top priority and receive such great service.

Let me just start by saying Jackie Mello is an angel from the hairstyling heavens. I have been going to hairstylist after hairstylist for years without ever feeling completely satisfied with my look. Jackie is a fantastic listener and boy, does she deliver! She really took the time to listen to all of my concerns (and let me tell you, I have a lot!) and graciously explained each step of the color correction process. Homegirl has some serious skills! The salon is impeccably tidy with a warm and welcoming atmosphere!

I must say I am a little biased, as I worked at this amazing salon for the past six years. It was such a pleasure going into work each day, excited to be with my coworkers (you don’t find that often in majority female atmospheres!), and each day was more rewarding than the day prior.
The owner, Jacqui, does an incredible job ensuring clients are relaxed, sales are well-​thought out, season specials are offered, and the salon is kept in tip-​top shape. I decided to move on to education development within the beauty industry, and I cannot say enough about how much Jacqui ensures her stylists are set up for success with educational opportunities. Complete with an associate program, you can be sure your stylist has had PLENTY of training. I have moved to NYC, but still crave going home to get my color done!
The salon is perfect for any occasion — color touch-​ups, quick trims, dramatic cuts, spray tans for vacation, waxes in a bind, blow outs for a date, makeup tips, and especially your wedding day! If you are the least bit unsure, go in for a free consultation, and I am positive any stylist will impress you with their knowledge and put you at ease with their friendly manner.

I have been coming to The Salon on Haven to see Kristin since moving to Reading this past fall and can’t say enough about both the salon and Kristin. First, the salon is always very clean and everyone who works there seems very friendly and happy to be there!
As for Kristin, her sweet personality instantly makes you feel comfortable in her chair. She is very confident in her abilities and gives her clients just the right amount of attentiveness to make us feel that we are in great hands, but without feeling smothered! She is the first person I have ever let color my hair, I started with just blending grays, but recently trusted her to add some subtle high lights… I have always loved how they look on others but have always been nervous to try it for myself but knew she would do a great job and they turned out amazing!
Recently we were discussing permanently straightening my hair, which is naturally frizzy with unruly curls. It is something I always have thought about doing but was always nervous and didn’t trust anyone enough to do such a delicate, permanent process on me hair. until I met Kristin. I totally trusted her and got them done over the weekend! It was a long, 4 – 5 hour process and she saw no other clients during this time. She was meticulous about the application and the results were amazing! When I left the Salon she was so excited about how it came out too, because she seriously loves her job! I just washed it after following her instructions not to touch or get it wet for 4 days and the results exceeded my expectations! For the first time in my life I am able to air dry my hair and have it look like I just spent an hour plus drying and flat ironing it! It is amazing and I am so glad Kristin made me feel

Love this Salon! Amy, Kelly and Tara are all excellent. Wish they had travel size products. Definitely recommend, cuts are top notch and color is excellent. Try it!

My stylist was in a rush and did not give me the cut I asked for. It looks sloppy and she never asked me how I liked it. I felt completely rushed. Usually the stylist asks during the cut if it’s enough take off, how do you like it, etc? She said nothing, just rushed away. Tomorrow I will be going to another salon to get it fixed.

All of the girls are very sweet and equally as talented. Michelle has been cutting my hair on and off for a few years now and I am always delighted with the outcome. The salon is a bit pricey but I assure you it’s worth the money!
I’ve had everything from color correcting and spray tanning to extensions and bang trims done here — always a happy camper!

My stylist Jessica Olsen Waitt is brilliant. I live South of Boston and travel to Reading to get my hair done. I have known Jessica when she was in hair school. Immediately upon graduation she began working at Salon on Haven. I loved how nice the girls were and how clean the Salon is.
I can have allergic reactions to certain Hair color, Jess and the owner of the Salon keep Goldwell stocked for me and Jess works her magic. I always have people comment on my hair. I highly recommend this Salon and Jess! She is superbly talented!

I had a disaster at another salon earlier the same day and called Salon on Haven looking for an emergency fix. They fit me right in and Tara was so extremely nice and careful with my hair. She did an awesome job and fixed everything! Huge thank you!

I found this little ‘Haven’ one night during an instagram #hashtag deep dive. I was tired of having my hair done by pricey Boston stylists who pass you from person-​to-​person, chair-​to-​chair like a badly choreographed Broadway dance routine. I have visited ‘Haven’ 3 times for both cut and color and have left extremely satisfied each time. They listen, take their time and deliver beautiful results! My hair is finally the length and color that I’ve been trying to get for years. Pro tip: See Amy Jones.

I recently moved to the area and was told to go to Salon on Haven. It’s nerve-​wrecking getting a new stylist, but Kristin C was great. I got highlights, a cut, and style, and left feeling wonderful. She recommended products but wasn’t pushy about it. The salon is neat and modern-​looking. Prices are not cheap, but reasonable for the high-​quality work they do. My hair looked gorgeous and I’ll be back.

BEST SALON EVER. On May 10^th, 2014 I had the absolute delight of having their stylists Michelle F and Kelly G to my house to get me and my bridesmaids & mom ready for the big day. They were upbeat, positive, flexible and did an AMAZING job! I was so happy with not only how my hair looked, but how great EVERYONE looked! All night everyone kept asking, «Where did you guys go to get your hair done?! Who did your hair!?»
They were so professional and took the time to really listen and make everyone feel comfortable!
Was it a bit on the expensive side? Yes. But you get what you pay for; and I got AMAZING service!

Modern and upbeat atmosphere. I see Amy Jones and she is amazing! My hair looks great every time I walk out the door. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

Modern and clean atmosphere. I went for the first time. The stylist really CARED. I have curly hair and it is hard to find a salon that knows what they are doing with that. I wanted a certain look and I feel great about what I came out with and that almost never happens. I also had my four year old with me and it wasn’t a problem.

I love going here! I see Jessica Waitt and she is fabulous! She does my cuts, waxing and cuts my son’s hair (starting at 12 months old).
The staff is friendly and attentive. They also offer fun classes on topics like Blow Drying your hair. I took this with Jessica and had so much fun. Walked away with new stills and a great swag bag.

I love this salon! I got an up-​do for my sister’s wedding and it was PERFECT! Ally asked me if I had any ideas and once I gave her a very general outline she filled in the blanks and the end result was amazing. Soft, romantic, and stayed in all night!
We also got our make up done. Each of us in the bridal party got our make up done by a different person at the same time and every one of us had a gorgeous face all night! Natural and fresh– perfect for an August wedding.
Each stylist is talented and smart, quick to pick up on what you want and, at the same time, give you what you need. If you’re looking for a place to make your regular salon, THIS IS IT!

I love this salon. I first went here in April to get lashes put on for my Vegas trip. The salon does not mention this, but my lashes lasted about 5 days! I had my haircut by Janelle in August, and she was amazing. I recently moved about an hour south of the salon, and I plan to stay. She did such an amazing job, I tried a few hairdressers to try and get the perfect bob, and she did it. I’m obsessed with my haircut and get so many compliments on the cut itself. Kristin did my spray tan last night and it came out amazing, she was helpful, told me to call her if it didn’t dry well. I just love this place.
