Acoustical Ceilings

We hired Bob who definitely did not supervise his work. He did a couple bedrooms and a closet for us or about $ 1200. They left the place pretty messy and had two spots in one of the bedrooms where the texture was thick and in globs. It looked really bad in that area. Fortunately he did give us a partial refund for that room only but that doesn’t change the fact that the room still has that issue now. Also to make matters worse, we had an issue with a painting contractor who apparently is friends with Bob and we ended up having to take the painter to small claims court. One of the only defenses the painter had was that we «threatened to go on Unilocal with the company that did their acoustic ceilings». I think it was pretty unprofessional of Bob to discuss confidential matters of his clients that then get used in court. We won our case with the painter by the way. I hope Bob doesn’t share personal conversations you have with him with other contractors! Beware! I’m giving 2 stars because he gave the refund but should prob be 1 for not overseeing his work and talking about us.

So far not impressed by this company. I had no option but to use this company as my condo’s HOA sent them to repair holes left by the HOA selected plumber who had to repair a leaky pipe in my unit.
Scheduling the repair was fine except that I was a little surprised to be told to call back the day before the scheduled day of repair to confirm the appointment. Huh? Isn’t that normal protocol for a vendor to contact the customer and confirm? Whatever, fine. I confirmed but was told it would be a one hour window between 8 – 9 AM which was different from when I scheduled the appointment and requested 7:30 AM and they said that would be fine.
Day of, the repairman was a no show during the advised 8 – 9 AM window. I called Bob the owner (no answer) then texted him to get a status update when no one had shown up by 9:15 AM. At 9:25 AM the repairman called me and advised he was 20 minutes away which obviously wasn’t the case since he arrived at 10:10 AM.
After the repairman surveyed the areas needing repairs, he advised that he may not have enough drywall to repair all the holes. WTF?!? I advised him there is a Home Depot not even 10 minutes away so please do what is necessary to make it happen today as I could not afford to take another day off from work for them to return to finish the repairs.
The repairman reevaluated the repairs and miraculously determined that there was enough drywall to finish the job in one day.
Next issue, how long will it realistically take I asked? The repairman advised an hour and a half. Really, that’s great, are you sure? Oh yes, an hour and a half he tells me again.
Well, apparently time works differently on planet Acoustical Ceiling… three hours later and they finished.
The repair work was good the clean-​up not so much. They shot texture on the walls and seemed to think my carpet and flooring also needed it. I was cleaning up their mess after they left since I didn’t notice it before they signed off.
Also, I’m still waiting (two weeks later) for a call back on getting someone to paint the repaired area. I was told by the repairman they would do that if the paint was a generic white or even the popular Swiss coffee which they carry. At this point, I just bought the paint myself and wrote them off as I don’t want them back in my condo.
I’d say you have a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ shot at getting a good outcome from this vendor. I give them two stars for the actual repair work the rest of the experience was a negative for me.

I recently hired this company to do work in my bedroom. The first time we scheduled (which was one week in advance) the appointment was set for 1 – 3 pm. I got a call at 315 that they were on their way. At 5, still not here. Finally they show up around 5:30, not prepared to do the job (they didn’t have the proper equipment). So after waiting all day, we has to reschedule. Upset about this, (I had a painter scheduled to come the next day) I called Bob, who was very unempathetic. I should have known to use someone else at that time.
They showed up on time at the reschedule. I thought that they did a great job. My ceiling and lighting looked beautiful. However, after the staff left, I noticed money missing from my wallet that I foolishly left out (I was in and out of the house and it wasn’t in my view all the time). I turned the house upside down trying to look for it– not wanting to believe it was taken from me. When I called Bob to report it– he have me nothing but excuses and told me that he had a «hard time believing his guys would do that». He even had the nerve to tell me that I misplaced my own money.
Would I REALLY have called and taken my time to call an owner if this didn’t happen??? He said he would be meeting with his staff the next morning for more details, and would call me back first thing to «figure this out». It’s been a week today, and he sure charged my credit card, but has he bothered to call me back? WOW. Customer service is extremely important in this day, where competition for business is at an all time high.
If Bob had called me back and professionally handled this situation, I wouldn’t be here writing this review. I think it’s important for people to know what kind of business you’re dealing with here– once they have your money, the customer service ENDS. Look elsewhere!

We have used this company twice. First experience was great. popcorn removed ceilings re-​textured and painted. looks great.
Second time not so good. hired them to pull out light boxes in two bathrooms and kitchen and replace with recessed lighting. also re-​texture all walls and ceilings in both bathrooms and kitchen… what should have been a two day job turned into about four days… second they put all the light fixtures in place while everything was still wet.duh.than the patch job they did not stellar.
You can clearly see the patch job. the light over the kitchen sink is not sitting correctly. also the areas where cabinets were removed per the owner «do not worry you will not see those marks» Clearly they are still visible as well as the marks where the bathrooms mirror was. I am typing this as I have waited since 2pm for them to come back to correct these problems… Unfortunately no show and no call.
Very disappointed I would be very careful with hiring them to do work…
Their customer service skills leave something to be desired!
