We recently took up the carpeting in our living room and found to our delight a beautiful floor underneath. However, after so many years, part of the carpet matting was stuck on the floor in several places. We called 3 different places to come out and give us a bid. including Gary from Bowers who we found to be very rude and not easy to communicate with. Once Daniel arrived and went through everything they would do, we were still unsure even though we liked him. Their prices are a little higher and so we went to their showroom to check it out. Daniel walked us through different types of flooring and really made us more at ease with what we chose to do. We have a small step from the living room to the foyer and Daniel’s men picked up our piano and set it there until the job was completed. We are so happy with our floor and couldn’t ask for anything better. And a bonus for us: when it was completed we still had the piano to move back down into the living room. I had called Daniel to let him know how pleased we were and he asked about the piano. I told him we’d get someone to move it back for us and he offered to send his guys out to do it. At first, I said no and then after he offered again (actually about 3 times) I took him up on it. We figured they would move it in a way that wouldn’t harm the floor. Sure enough Daniel and Andrew (another great guy to work with) came by one morning and moved the piano and we put it on coasters to protect the floor. We will definitely use this company again and will say that Daniel really stands by his work. Thank you Daniel for a great floor.

Let me add to the acclaim for Daniel and A Tradition Floors. Daniel’s initial bid was initially quite a bit higher than that of another highly-​rated company. But Daniel also said that he would match lower bids from other reputable companies… and he did! Before they started the job, Daniel’s crew put down stain samples for us, eventually allowing us to mix two stains to achieve our desired color. They actually did the job while we were on vacation. We returned to find our floors as beautifully refinished as we could possibly have hoped. We’re so happy with the work and with Daniel personally that we’re now planning to buy new upstairs carpeting from his affiliated company, The Floor Konnection. We may well also purchase some window coverings from him. Daniel does it all!

A Tradition Floors started a job with me months ago and I can’t express the satisfaction I have endured with them during this process. Daniel and his crew started on my the bottom floor of my 2 story house to convert ALL the carpet to a high quality wood flooring, which is at a halt due to my remodel, and I can not thank them enough. The process with Daniel was a breeze and his communication is one of the best I have experienced when it comes to dealing with a business.
I will definitely be using this company, as long as Daniel continues to be the owner, to continue all of my flooring needs in the rest of my house. 5 stars isn’t high enough to rate these guys!

A Tradition Floors just completed converting my stairwell and 3 landings from carpet to wood. They had to rebuild the stair skirt to accommodate the upcoming wainscoting; so there was a lot of work. The team of Doug and Andrew; who performed the majority of my work, are to be commended. They were respectful, considerate, really nice and cleaned up incredibly well at the end of every work day.
The owner, Daniel Meidinger, was very easy to work with. He returned any calls promptly and visited the work site on a regular basis.
It would be to your advantage to at least talk with Daniel for any flooring needs you may have. I had a great experience with them and would hope you would too.

Two weeks before I was due to move into my «new» home I decided the hardwood floors needed to be redone. I contacted Daniel and he came out right away to give me a bid. His bid was great and he was able to work me into his schedule and got it done before I moved. He and his crew were fabulous and very professional. He was there every day working or checking on things and stayed in contact to keep me informed of the progress.
I didn’t like any of the stains for the floor so he mixed one up for me and it was perfect! I’ve referred him to friends and he has already done a job for one of them and they were thrilled also.
I would highly recommend him for your hardwood floors.

I contacted A Tradition Floors for a quote to repair damage to my hardwood floors caused by my former tenant. Daniel’s bid was not only very competitive, he informed me that the company also sold and installed carpet. I decided to use the company for both carpet installation and the hardwood repair work. The new carpet is beautiful and the hardwood floors look almost news. (Several people have asked me if the wood floors were a new installation — they are 7 yrs old!) I highly recommend this company.

Daniel and his crew were all very professional, knowledgable and respectful about the whole process of refinishing my wood floors. His new dustless system is fantastic and magical! I will definitely use his company again.

It took me a while but I had to write a review. Daniel and his crew installed hard wood flooring throughout half my house.
First of all my husband and I could not get time off of work to be home for the installation so we left his crew our keys and they were alone the whole week. They respected our property and were extremely clean.
Our garage broke while the crew was in our house and we thought the crew did it. Daniel sent over a garage repair man that day and we found out it was actually wear and tear and had it repaired.
The job took a few days longer than we thought but during the whole processes of choosing the flooring and installation Daniel was a constant professional with amazing customer service. We gave him a bit of a hard time but the floors went in beautifully and the work was perfect.
At times I would think that Daniel is a saint.

I have just had my family room hardwood floors laid by A Tradition Floors. I am so happy at the way they turned out. Daniel Meidinger really knows his wood and his stains. He matched the new floors stain just perfect to match my other floors. Daniel and his crew were very professional and considerate towards my home. I recomend A Tradition Floors to everyone that wants a master piece. One other thing, Daniel is my nephew and is the 3^rd generation in the flooring business in my family. Daniel and his crew did a checkered floor in our restaurant, Il Palio, in the Loehmann’s Plaza shopping Center. It came out sooooo nice and really made the space. Since then we have used A Tradition for our personal use at home with a refinish and it came out great as well. Very professional and friendly.

I have used Daniel with A Tradition in both my homes. He has refinished the floor in half of one house making it look like a new floor. Thanks to Daniel’s expert recommendation to refinishing the floor I saved a ton of money as I thought the wood needed replacing.
My other house was a new install of distressed Dark Walnut. My home went from ordinary to awesome. Everybody that stepped into my home had great compliments on the new floors.
Attention to detail, being on time, clean cut, respectable looking vehicle, leaving the job clean and dust free is what separates A Tradition from the rest.

I hired Daniel to do the floors of our new house. It was all hardwood and he made them all shine. His price was extremely competitive and he delivered in time and quality as promised. Perfect!
He did such a great job that I hired him to do the floors in the Crocker Art Museum. We are getting ready for a grand reopening and really wanted the1860’s building to shine. Again, he excelled at caring for us and our floors. Everyone agreed that he did such a great job that we have him moving in to another room in the building.
