Number One Hardwood Floors did a very good job on my 100+ year old fir plank subfloors. Judging by the layers of paint on them, I’m not sure these floors were ever finished. They were in really bad shape. They removed all the paint and a section of parquet flooring, sanded everything down and refinished. The color of the stain and finish came out an amazing reddish brown. I agree with the other reviews that they were fast (2 days) and reasonably priced. They were also very responsive in returning phone calls. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is there were a few small areas where the finish didn’t smooth out and I didn’t agree with the explanation that it was related to the wood grain.

Number One Hardwood Floors is «number one». They are fast, timely, and had my hardwood floors sanded and re-​stained in 2 days. They also replaced some of the planks in my home that had really bad looking fillers (from the previous owners). My home is pretty old and the floors had not been refurbished in a long time so they had an orange hue to them. After refurbishing and re-​staining the floors look great and have a beautiful natural oak color which lightens my entire home. I love the new look.
