We recently had insulation installed with SBP through the home performance program with SMUD. We found Jeff to be very professional and very conscientious. He always kept us updated on the process and any changes to the project/​timeline. He is very upfront and honest and will not try to sell you any product or upgrades that are not necessary. The companies that he contracts with seem very reliable and professional as well. In addition, he was always there at the beginning and end of the project to check the work. To top things off, we even got an additional $ 400 in rebates from PG & E which was not expected! The only thing I would advise on is that the HPP can take a bit of time for assessment and approval, so be patient with the process. We would highly recommend Jeff and SBC and will use in the future if needed!

Jeff at Building performance was awesome. They fixed our entire HVAC system, and sealed our house to conform with SMUD energy efficiency. It was a pleasure dealing with everyone of the workers that came to the house, and they were as polite as you could ever want.

I have to post this review because of the professionalism and kind assistance that I received from owner, Jeff Connor. We had a ceiling leak in our kitchen, coming from a hall bathroom upstairs. He walked me through the possible causes of the leak and instructed me on how to troubleshoot the problem. He was extremely patient and thoughtful with me over the phone. It turned out I needed an emergency plumber for the leak so it wasn’t necessary for him to come out to my home. He told me to contact him if I had any further questions and he really put my mind at ease. I am thankful there are still kind, honest and thoughtful business owners out there. I know I will contact Jeff in the future, if I require contracting services. He’s really a good man!

I second everything Barbara L said in her 9÷25÷12 posting. Jeff Connor was fantastic to work with. He totally destroys the bad rep many contractors have. Absolutely NEVER late which is typically unheard of with contractors. And yes, his sub-​contractors were also always on time, pleasant, polite, cleaned up after their work everyday even if scheduled to return the next day. I also agree about Jeff’s knowledge and he spends time explaining everything (very patient). Follow-​up has been superb even months after initial installation for «tweaking» needs. Not the «I’ve got the final check so you won’t ever see me again» attitude. (BTW, he did the full HVAC/​energy upgrades in my house including AC, heating/​furnace, all new duct work, insulation, etc.) Also, when looking at my house for initial estimate he noticed a crack and small bulge in the ceiling in my family room. Not related to the HVAC estimate but he pointed it out to me as a concern and upon further assessment it was discovered that my shower from upstairs was leaking. If he hadn’t bothered to point this out, eventually my ceiling in that area would have collapsed. (Yes, I hired Jeff to repair the problem.) Although I had other contractors come to assess my house for the HVAC, none of them noticed the ceiling issue, and if they did, never said anything. Despite the fact that Jeff was there for an HVAC estimate only, he was conscientiousness enough to notice and point out a potential problem. I’m now moving on to remodeling my kitchen as my next project and am getting an estimate from Jeff (he’s not just an energy upgrade contractor but can do it all). I would absolutely recommend Jeff Connor for any project you might be planning, whether energy upgrades or other. It can be difficult to find a contractor you trust and who is also easy to work with. I sure hope Jeff isn’t planning to go anywhere soon cuz besides my kitchen remodel, I’ve got a lot of other rooms screaming for attention as well … thanks so much Jeff for everything.

I recently did some energy upgrades and had a wonderful experience with this company. I had originally called to take advantage of a rebate program and was very impressed on how knowledgeable Jeff was about his industry. He really keeps up on current rebates and financing options which made our decision even easier! He was straight forward and did lots of things that I often don’t see from contractors:
1) He was never late… always on time and showed up when he said he would
2) He cleaned up the area after working every time (even when he was coming back the next day)
3) He managed several sub-​contractors on the job… and they were always on time. He also came back months after completion to check on our project and offer some tweaks to our new system (redesigned HVAC was one project he worked on)
The last one really surprised me… Have you ever paid a contractor and never seen them again after you cut the final check? Not with Jeff! I would recommend him with confidence for your home project.
