Sky Zone Trampoline Park

I wrote a not so nice review of this place shortly after they opened due to issues with disorganization and poor communication regarding the fitness classes. Since I eventually went back to give them another chance and have been going regularly since, I figured it was time for an updated review. They’ve been better about keeping their website current and making sure the class times posted are accurate.
The fitness classes are a great workout and the instructor is energetic, fun and friendly. She’s able to modify moves so that they are appropriate for all fitness levels and she’s constantly adding new moves to the class so that you get a lot of variety. It’s more than an aerobics class-​she also adds moves to work your core and arms. If I we’re reviewing just the class and nothing else, I’d make this a five star review!
The reason I deducted one star is that there appear to still be issues with staff communication. Often the people at the front desk are not able to answer questions and often you’ll get different information depending on who you talk to. Thankfully, there haven’t been any more miscommunications about class times but there have been some regarding the class passes. This is problematic because they constantly change the cost of the passes so it’s a crapshoot as to how much they’ll cost oh any given day. This isn’t a deal breaker because the class is cheap even without buying the ten class discount pass (8 dollars a class normally and 64 dollars for a ten class pass) but it is a tad annoying. If you want a fun and unique workout though, I do recommend overlooking this issue and checking out the Dky Fit class!

We had a blast bouncing around in a trampoline aerobics class last night! At $ 8 for socks and the class, it was a steal. Juhana was our instructor and she was engaging, encouraging, and provided a variety of activities for a great core workout.
In addition to regular weekly classes, they have free jump areas, dodgeball, and other fun obstacle trampoline areas. It’s also a great place for parties.

My kids really enjoyed going here. The staff was very friendly and it was clean. I like how they separate by size, makes it less possible for kids to get hurt.

We went for the first time yesterday and loved it. The staff is extremely friendly and patient. (One example, I heard a safety guy say gently, «Make sure you’re not running, sweetheart.») And maybe we got lucky, but the clientele was equally nice that day. It was busy, but not crowded with no wait time. The place is laid out so that I could enjoy watching and recording my kids wherever they went. There was even a toddler area for my 15 month old daughter who was thrilled. And the food area was very pleasant with smoothies and dippin’ dots. The reason some folks scored it lower is the reason we enjoyed it so much — safety. There’s one person per trampoline so my kids could comfortably try new tricks without worrying about being stampeded. (We were always a bit nervous at Defy Gravity.) The dudes are already pleading to go back again today. This time they want to stay longer and bring more friends.

I came to visit my sister and we wanted something fun to do with my three year old nephew. We came on a Tuesday so it was a good BOGO deal, but if I came and paid full price, I would have been incredibly disappointed. We couldn’t even jump with my nephew. He was 3 so he had his own separate toddler area and although there was no one there, we were still restricted from doing anything with him. He could do the foam pit, but that was it… He couldn’t jump with us, play basketball, dodgeball or anything else they offered… yet we still paid the same price as an adult for him. I agree that children’s safety comes first and it’s not the safest to have adults jumping with children, but with the amount of different areas they have, I’d think that there could be some type of family jump assigned. Based on this visit, we paid $ 27/​hr basically to coax my three year old nephew to try and have fun for an hour. And that was a BOGO trip! I would have been even more highly disappointed had we paid full price.
I’m not sure of his name, but the guy that was at the toddler area did everything he could to try and keep my nephew engaged, but anytime my sister and I even tried to step away, my nephew didn’t want to be with a stranger with no other kids around. This employee went above and beyond to do his best, but this is sometimes very difficult with little children. Unfortunately, this was the only thing that I enjoyed about this trip.
I think this indoor trampoline park is a great idea and I respect the safety and rules for children visiting this park, but I have to say that I will not be going back or recommending this to anyone with kids under the age of 5. I think that if people are paying the same price for their toddlers as they are for themselves or older kids, there should be more for them to do– add a basketball trampoline with foam basketballs so it’s safe for the little ones, add more games to their area, add a family area, etc.

This place is a BLAST for adults and kids. Worth the money, and yes worth the rules and restrictions they put on you. I mean, you don’t want to have a 240 pound man cracking heads with a 6 year-​old kid. I read a few of the most negative reviews and that was the chief complaint– too many rules. Well, it’s a business, and businesses get sued when people get injured. That being said there is plenty of fun to be had without making it dangerous. I’ve been to every indoor trampoline park in Raleigh and this is the only place that didn’t make me overly concerned for the safety of my kids.
If you are a dad and you want to be your kids’ hero for a day, take them to Sky Zone

Well I showed up for my weekly jump last Monday accompanied by my friend and another along with his 3 children. The Sky Zone has changed its hours and is no longer open on Mondays. We were all so disappointed!!! We have all switched now to Defy Gravity which is open on Mondays. Sky Zone you lost out.

In the world of trampoline parks this is right down the middle. I understand that safety is a MAJOR concern in these environments. That said, I think this location is best suited to older teenagers and adults. The limits for toddlers and younger kids during the day and early evening are so extensive that their overall play is limited to 2 zones in the entire area. I wouldn’t come back here with my 2yr and 5 yr old boys.

Paid a hour but stayed 30 mins. Kids thought the place was too structured. Too many rules. There is an employee at each station for safely but you have to go one at a time. Have to jump with your age group. Kids wanted to play together. They wanted to leave after 30 mins… Age 5 and age 11

WOW!!! This place is wonderful. Wonderful for kids, wonderful for adults. They have dodge ball, basketball, foam pit and free bounce. If you do not want to jump, just take a load off and use the free wifi and have a snack and the employees will take care of the rest. Awesome place!

I came to skyzone for the skyrobics fitness class. Oh yes, fun and working out all rolled into one! Isn’t that what we are all looking for?
Your first few minutes on the trampoline gets a little ridiculous as a flood of excitement rushes in and everyone (including me!) starts bouncing and giggling before the class even begins.
The facility is large and has multiple trampoline sections that are beyond the size of your typical backyard trampoline. From what I can remember, there was one for small children, one where you can play basketball, and a third or even fourth that I could not see well. In addition there is a section that has about 18 or so little sectioned off trampolines for individuals. This is where we did skyrobics.
We had a class of 16 which is a pretty decent size. I was in the last row in the back and had no trouble seeing or hearing the instructor. The class started with a warm up involving bouncing and simple movements to get us used to the trampoline. The actual class involved a lot of bouncing while doing familiar exercises such as jumping jacks, lunges, et cetera, and a few such as push ups, sit ups, and plank where we did not bounce at all but our balance was surely tested on what felt like a giant marshmallow. At the end we did a sort of circuit training with multiple stations using the trampoline and the bare floor of the facility.
I managed well throughout the class. It was a full body workout. At some points I did feel some disequilibrium, but it was not severe enough that I needed to stop. There were also some moves that are a bit intimidating like butt drops or trying to touch your toes while your in the air but I lost the fear as I did more. I do not like to do exercises that put a lot of pressure on the knees and I felt like the trampoline’s elasticity did alleviate that stress from the normal exercises. However, please still do be cautious if you have any medical issues.
The instructor was awesome! I wish I could remember her name but I need to hear it a few times before it sticks. Well, in any case she mentioned she was the only instructor for skyrobics.
The skyrobics will be a nice addition to my workout routine so that I can switch it up now and then. Also, so that I can bounce on a trampoline :)

Very clean with nice snack bar and lots of pleasant, young attendants. Not crowded at all for a week-​end afternoon. But our boys are 6 & 10 and the only activities for them were individual trampoline jumping and the foam pit. The attendants did a good job of keeping jumpers separate. A basketball & dodgeball area were opened but older kids were playing games in those and seemed to know each other. Maybe a party or church group? Our guys were smaller and not comfortable playing a competitive game with larger boys. They find many things to do at Defy Gravity and we stay until the last minute. We had hour passes but in less than 30 minutes both boys were ready to leave. While Sky Zone seemed safer that may have been due to less people and less activities. From now on we will stick with Defy Gravity.

Made a reservation via phone for 6 and was told I could add more if needed when I arrive. They couldn’t find my reservation because they use a paper card filing system and I wasn’t allowed to add more people. Luckily it was adults and not kids that wanted to be added. They really need to get more organized and clearly know protocol before stating it to customers.

Great fun for everyone. Not too crowded. Plan ahead, if you just show up you may have to wait an hour or more to jump.

At the end of the day, it’s about the kids and my 3 LOVED it! Could use more starting for parents, but overall great! Clean, considering do many people. Coffee, Jamba Juice, Cliff Bars, Jet’s Pizza… Not bad for a concession stand! Highly recommended! Be safe!

This place is a wonderful birthday spot for your kids. I had my son’s 8^th birthday here last Saturday and everyone had a great experience. I was very impressed by our host who took care of everything for us during our 2 hour stay. Although they have a few rules on the trampolines that my kids were a little bummed about, I, as a parent, think they are perfect! Whatever keeps those kids in one piece! They really do care about everyone’s safety here.
Another awesome thing about this place is the cleanliness of the park! It doesn’t stink at all! I witnessed managers walking around picking up trash and cleaning the tops of the trash cans. The one cashier at concessions was constantly wiping down the counter. Bathrooms were in pristine condition. Very impressive!
Overall, I think this place would be great for any family to come! I would definitely recommend coming here

Trampoline places like Sky Zone take me back to the days of jumping around like a insane child at The Discovery Zone or Chuck-E-Cheese…Even though i’m pretty sure neither of those places had trampolines… Either way the feeling of utter nostalgia comes to be in the best possible way. There’s no denying it, jumping around makes you feel like a kid again–
–Even if that jumping around is for an exercise class. I came in tonight for their SkyFitness class, where apparently you can burn 1000 calories (or something around there probably) in one hour! Last week I attended a free GravityFit class at DefyGravity and while I loved it $ 10 for an hour class was a bit too much for me… So straight to Sky Zone I go where classes are a steal at $ 5 for an hour! Yay savings! That being said I came in fully comparing the two from start to finish, and there are some VERY obvious differences in classes.
First off Sky Zone has about a million other things going on while SkyFitness is happening. They don’t shut down like DefyGravity does which means you’ll be trying to listen to your instructor while a pack of 10 year old boys run around screaming their heads off. They don’t even turn down the blaring mix of One Direction, Journey and insane rave music (I think the person controlling the music may be drunk or just slightly crazy considering how bipolar the music is lol).
Another tick against Sky Zone in relation to DefyGravity… The instructor has no portable mic which makes listening to instructions TWICE as hard now. You could tell she was really trying to be loud but Sky Zone should really throw her a bone and get her a mic like DefyGravity does.
But it isn’t all bad (after all my rating is «Yay! I’m a fan.». Even though I couldn’t hear the instructor at all I feel like my workout was waaaaaaay more effective here. She really kicked our butts while mixing in the fun boucing around you come to expect from a warehouse full of trampolines. I left feeling tired and feeling the burn which is what I was hoping for! And of course who can forget the fact that I got this kick butt (and fun) workout for $ 5. HALF the price of their main trampoline competitor. Just for the fact that I can come twice as much for the same price give them the edge!
While Sky Zone has it’s setbacks when it comes to their fitness classes I think they do a pretty awesome job working with what they have. I will definitely be back soon for another class soon and hopefully to go jump in that oh so tempting pit of foam blocks too…

We had a great time at Sky Zone! My nieces and nephew were in town visiting for the Thanksgiving holiday when I saw a Groupon come through for Sky Zone. I had been to one, or a similar concept, before in another state, so I was a little nervous because I remembered the experience as kind of chaotic and more like the Wild Wild West.
Needless to say, my sister and I bought enough Groupons so we could jump to try to watch over the kids to keep them safe. Nobody had time for broken bones this visit! We were so pleasantly surprised at how well-​organized and supervised the park was. There were plenty of workers (maybe college-​aged) who were truly concerned about safety and took time to explain each section. Each admission came with a brand new pair of jumping socks, which really made the germaphobe in me very happy. The kids thought the socks were fun and liked the bright orange.
The Groupons were so easy to use and made it a very affordable outing for some last minute fun. There is a snack bar if you are hungry, and I thought it was so great that there were water fountains! I really didn’t feel like dropping $ 20 on bottled water, so it was nice that they weren’t nickel’n and dime’n ya at every corner. My parents came along and bought some chips as a snack, and the chips were reasonably priced for an entertainment venue. My mom did wish they had coffee, but she loves coffee and expects it everywhere. :)
All in all, the kids loved it and were so worn out.

Located in an industrial park off Capital Blvd. near 440, Sky Zone is super convenient to the Belt-​line.
We went on a Friday night and it was busy, but not at capacity. I appreciated the ability to complete the waiver online and have it emailed to me with a bar code, rather than having to print it out.
This was our first time there and my teens grumbled that there were some big differences between Sky Zone and Defy Gravity– such as only one person per trampoline, whereas at Defy Gravity is it a free for all with jumping. The other is that there’s no club night (ages 15+) where lights are dimmed, disco ball lights and loud music.
My teens loved that the space was separated into toddlers, kids and then teens/​adults. Also the basketball net and dodge ball room were super fun.
Overall we found Sky Zone to be bright and clean and the staff friendly. Each jumper is given a pair of Sky Zone socks to wear and take home, included in the price, which helps with cleanliness and is smart marketing. Also there is hand sanitizer stations scattered throughout.
Sky Zone and Defy Gravity are basically located in the same area of Raleigh– both are off Capital, and have the same pricing. Having said that, there are differences and it is worth checking both out.
Groupon has a deal 2 jumpers for $ 17 for one hour of jump time on Tuesday-​Thursday. One hour is typically $ 14 per person.

They are getting ready to open and I can not wait. The owner of this location (near Iceplex off Capital Blvd) is a former Pediatric Nurse, so she knows 1) Safety, 2) Fitness /​Health, and 3) KIDS! But this won’t just be a place for kids, because I fully intend to make Sky Zone a part of my regular workout routine. Burn up to 1,000 calories/​hour having fun? YES, PLEASE!
