Hi I’m Larry Zito the business owner. A native New Yorker, graduated from Michigan State University in 2002 with a degree in Advertising. Returned to NYC to work and eventually run my cousins construction business. We did everything from roofing to rocking. In 2007 I started mainly dealing with the painting jobs we took on. Learned and developed my skills to become a highly skilled master painter. I then created my own painting business.

I put all my heart into every job I take on. It’s very important to me that all requests are met with the highest of quality and care.

Larry painted my apartment 3 years ago and his work was excellent and he even mixed paints to create a color for an area which turned out perfect. Recently, there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling and it needed to be repaired and painted. Again, he did a professional job and the ceiling and the freshly painted bathroom looks great. Larry is definitely a painter you can always trust to do a great job!

Called Larry the Painter to paint the living room, kitchen, master bedroom and bathroom. He arrived on time and within a few days sent me an itemized estimate.
He called a day before the scheduled start date to confirm the appointment. Upon arrival, he inspected each room and advised Miguel and Tomas of the day’s plan. The bathroom had recently been renovated and the contractor did not leave the walls smooth and there were gaps in the corners as well as other imperfections. He suggested that I look at the contract to know the contractor’s responsibilities. Larry spoke with the contractor and advised him that there were major repairs to be done before he could paint. The contractor agreed to pay for the repairs. I only had to pay for the work that was previously agreed. Tomas
spent four hours repairing the bathroom walls. He did an amazing job. Since Tomas was busy with the bathroom repairs, Miguel painted most of the other rooms in a timely manner. I was very happy with the quality and cleanliness of the work. I look forward to hiring them to paint the hallway and second bedroom.

I found Larry the Painter through Unilocal,and he proved to be the perfect choice for painting our new home. Not only do we love the paint job, but we get compliments on the work every time people come over.
Fairly priced (and in line with other estimates we received), Larry and his team worked diligently on our home with a goal of doing the job right. Instead of cutting corners, they put in extra hours to ensure every inch of the place looked pristine and welcoming. Some parts of the job wound up being especially complex, and he also wanted to add a few other touches we hadn’t discussed. He didn’t charge any extra for such work and did it because that’s how he felt the job should be done (I did at least attempt to cover the extra work done).
Ultimately, Larry and his crew took care of the job in a way that reflected how they’d do their own homes. There was clearly a lot of pride in making our home more welcoming and livable, and it really looked like a whole new apartment when he was done. I’d hire them again and recommend them in a heartbeat.

Larry is a very on point guy and did a rush job for me. As soon as I contacted him, he responded in a private message with his number. I told him I needed my place painted ASAP and he came over to give me an estimate within 24 hours. And 24 hours later, he painted my entire space PERFECTLY as I imagined it. Despite having a lot of punctured walls, my space now looks impeccable. I would definitely hire him again, seeing that I will need to paint the rest of my house anyways.

Based off the previous Unilocal reviews, I could not be more shocked and disappointed.
I contacted Larry days ago for a quote to paint all four walls in my bedroom. Our conservation over the phone was «odd» to say the least — he suggested specific dates that worked for both our schedules, but then said he wanted to keep those days for himself as personal days. And by all means — we are all human and entitled to our own time and lives — but do not openly suggest dates to a customer to then backtrack them — just don’t offer the dates in the first place! Secondly, after our telephone conversation he asked me to text him a quick recap and any pictures, which I did moments after. He stated on our call that he would be able to give me a quote for the paint job in a 12×15 room that same-​day, or the next morning. Three days later, and four follow up texts, still no response from Larry.
If you’re looking for a professional and reliable contractor for your job, Larry is not the guy to hire.

Larry did my garden apartment in oakland gardens over the summer and did an excellent job painting and patching… he made some good suggestions and stayed to make sure the work was done properly… i will definitely use him in the future and highly recommend him… thanks again larry hope all is well and if your car battery needs a jump again let me know lol

Larry is a freaking great guy, and he and his team did a fantastic job with some creative painting requests in 3 rooms over 2-​and-​bit days. Professional, really friendly, communicative, everything you’d expect.
He was clear and helpful in going over what our options were and how much each aspect would cost, updating the estimate as we went along adding and removing various things, and then he stuck to the estimate. He went the extra mile for us, putting on an extra coat where needed, helping out with some random things, following all our requests to a T, and then finishing up under some rather grueling physical conditions that I won’t go into!

Larry and his team completed a three-​day paint job at my new apartment last week, and it looks fantastic. I found Larry through Unilocal and was impressed by his great reviews, and I was not disappointed.
When I first found his Unilocal page, I left Larry a voicemail, which he answered the next day. He came over for a consultation and sent me a quote later that afternoon (the price was very reasonable and on par with what my friends in the neighborhood have paid). He clearly knows what he’s doing and could «see» many things in my place that I never would’ve noticed, e.g., uneven surfaces, paint splatters from a previous paint job, etc.
Communicating with Larry was very easy. He obviously has a busy schedule but would return calls, emails, and texts (my preferred method of communication) promptly. I also asked for a certificate of insurance, which he quickly provided. As for the actual job, I was pleased that Larry showed up at 8am on the dot, as we’d agree upon (as I had to leave for work), and the job took three days, as he estimated.
I would definitely recommend Larry to anyone in the area who’s looking to spruce up their place. My walls and ceilings look pristine (there were tacks everywhere on the hideous yellow walls, and now they’re completely white and smooth), but more importantly, he’s very professional and friendly. If I ever needed another paint job, I’d call him again without hesitation.

Larry is the best!!! He painted our new house quickly and beautifully, and he is such a nice guy– it was a pleasure working with him. He stopped by to survey the job and promptly gave us a quote. We loved Larry, and would hire him again in a heartbeat! Efficient, on-​time, professional, detailed, VERY easy to communicate with, very hard working, high-​quality work. Took lots of notes on everything we wanted, tried very hard to accommodate our schedule (and succeeded). Did any and all spackling/​cleaning necessary to paint. Larry exceeded my expectations! He and his team worked around the clock (8AM-​8PM for 3 day) to finish the project I had in the time frame I needed it done. The guys were professional, and I have no complaints. The job was done very well, and I plan on using Larry again in the near future.
Most importantly my GF is happy with his work.
I noticed some people had trouble reaching Larry. I would recommend reaching out to Larry via text or email. He doesn’t always respond back right away, but he always got back to me in a reasonable amount of time (within a few hours).

Larry was quick to get back to me and provide a fair estimate. He did a terrific job painting two rooms in my apartment (a bedroom and a bathroom), and is very detail oriented and thorough. Larry is also extremely personable and someone I was totally comfortable having in my home. I live in a building that requires companies doing work to provide insurance paperwork, which is sometimes a hassle, but Larry was very prompt in providing it with no issues. Would definitely recommend him and hire him again.

Reached out to Larry for a quote. He stopped by my place and spent a considerable amount of time going over the space and the details of the job. Then I never heard from him again — I followed up over email and never received a response. Strange — hope Larry is okay.

*Updated** Contacted Larry 11÷20÷14 in regards to a small project. A one bedroom paint job he seemed hesitant to accept the job because it was so small I did state however I was looking to paint the whole apartment eventually but I wanted to test the waters with him on 1 bedroom before I invested in a whole makeover. I emailed Larry and he gave me a quote and after that he failed to contact me anymore. A little disappointed because he said he would do the job and then just with out notice stopped replying. Larry may or may not be a good painter but if you’re looking for a someone to do a small project he probably isn’t going to accept it. My review isn’t based on the quality of his work but the lack of professionalism displayed in giving me quotes and LEADING me to believe he would do then job and then not responding to say he didn’t want to accept the job. Disappointed.

Larry came and painted our living room today and our experience was awesome! Not only is he super friendly and knowledgeable, he is also punctual, accommodating, reliable, and his prices are very reasonable. And most importantly, his work is amazing! We will be having him back asap to paint the rest of our place as well as all of the common spaces of our condo building.
