Specialties
We are a group of nondenominational ministers/officiants serving the Portland/Vancouver metro areas, for weddings and other rites. Our experienced, heart-centered officiants perform ALL kinds of ceremonies, large or small, religious or not, simple, elaborate, creative, interfaith, same sex, or whatever your two hearts desire.
We will come officiate at your greater Portland/Vancouver area location or you may come to our small wedding chapel in SW Portland where we will host and officiate your wedding. Our chapel is an ideal courthouse wedding alternative, warm and personal, with a wooded view outside our windows. We have seating for up to 15 guests. Counseling is not required. The first meeting is at no cost or obligation. Last-minute ceremonies are welcome and often possible. We also offer a Spanish-speaking officiant. We are legal to officiate in the state if Oregon and Washington, including same-sex weddings. We are Gay-Friendly officiants.
History
Established in 2002.
From Rev. Leah Light, Founder of Wedded Your Way:
Performing wedding ceremonies and other rites is my true heart’s calling. I enjoy finding the common denominator of love to define a couple’s day, bringing families together for this most important of all occasions. While we can and should celebrate our differences, what we have in common is far more important than what divides us. That underlying principle is what I try to bring to every ceremony.
I feel comfortable and confident officiating most any kind of wedding, including for a gay couple. There are only a few weddings I won’t do. Please don’t ask me to jump out of a plane, and don’t ask me to write vows that include the «O» word, as in Love, Honor, and «Obey.» Otherwise, please bring your ideas to our initial meeting, which is free and without obligation, and together we’ll find the words and tone that will enable you to be Wedded Your Way.

Wedded Your Way was started in 2002, by Rev. Leah Light, the Founding Minister and Director of Circle of Light Ministries, LLC, in the Tigard area of SW Portland.
Leah’s spiritual background was conservative and Christian-based, yet at the same time, eclectic. Her parents practiced a more Jewish lifestyle that adhered closely to the Old Testament in terms of dietary laws and the Saturday Sabbath, yet their beliefs embraced charismatic/Pentecostal elements as well. They were independent, reasoning that no one church could hold all the truth. Thus, they never joined one particular church, but instead made the rounds, visiting various congregations of their choosing. As a result, Leah was exposed to many different faiths and viewpoints. This background has served her well in practicing tolerance, and bridging the gap among couples and families of differing beliefs, or for those who hold no particular belief. The choice of a nonreligious wedding, if desired, is honored and respect
