Best Overhead Door

Mike from Best Overhead Door installed my garage door. The situation was complicated b/​c almost all communication was phone &/​or a third party. Mike was friendly, easy to work with and very helpful. He did all the work without me on-​site. He even helped clean out the garage by moving items that surely did not belong where they had settled themselves. The office staff (Kristy especially) was patient and worked very hard to get the door installed with an absentee home owner. I wholly recommend this company. I would definitely employee this company again if needed. Thank you to Best Overhead Door in Oregon.

Been using them since 2011 when I built my home. First were 2″ Clopay 8″ and 16″ foot wide doors and than last year I upgraded to 3″ doors due to my rain exposure (and because they don’t need painting — look like wood). In between, Rob, Dusty, and their crew have been here to help when one of the garage door openers needed to replaced under warranty and when I backed in to the door as it was closing (bent molding on the bottom needed to be replaced). They are now here again as someone drove in to the wall between the doors which moved the wall :(So both doors, and the hardware, came off today so the restoration company can start rebuilding (based on my past experiences; I chose to use this company as opposed to the RC’s sub).

Mike from Best Overhead Door installed the garage door opener I bought at Lowe’s. He was here when he said he would be and did an excellent job. When he noticed that my door was noisy due to old rollers, he took the time to lubricate all of them! I highly recommend this company.

Ken was here and put in a new spring on my double garage door today. His work was quick and efficient and the door operates more quietly and smoother than ever when he was finished, i would recommend them for you garage door service. Steven

I would NEVER use them again.
Don’t use them, unless you want your garage door install to take 4 months to have them sort out their mistakes.
I ordered a door through Lowe’s (by the way… don’t use them either. Nice people, poor service). They contract with Best Overhead door.
The install people were not flexible with the install times. After much debate of when to make it happen, they installed my door without handles. This was not communicated to me that this is the «norm» now with new doors. They No-​showed twice to «fix» it and to put in a better fitting seal for to decrease the gap caused by an uneven floor. Both days I had to take off work to meet them. Due to their schedule, this took over 3 months to schedule. Once, the installer did not get my work order (even though I got a reminder call from the office) and no-​showed.
They also recommended that I leave the garage door unlocked, so they can come by and check it out if I’m not home. Without the lock, the door rolls up 4 inches. I stated that to them and how it was an obvious safety issue. They agreed, but that that what they recommended. Poor logic.
Its now November (my door was originally installed in August) and they still have not fixed the door seal (which they call a receptacle… I’m not an expert… but I don’t think those two things are the same).
After the last no-​show (who happened to be the owner!), the receptionist said she would send her brother out to fix it for the next appointment. She guaranteed that he would do it correctly. Weeks later when he came out, he did not get the work order for it… this is the second person who did not get the work order for fixing this. He did add handles. He also took pictures of the floor gap and the unsecured door panel. The office was supposed to follow up with me the day after about this to schedule a time AGAIN to get the seal put on. Never did. Horrible communication. Now I get to call AGAIN to see when they will fix it again. Maybe I will have it done by the New Year… maybe not…
They have their contract from Lowe’s and they just really don’t care.
I would not recommend them.

The techs are fine. The office staff is horrible.
They don’t return phonecalls (three of them!!)
My repair was delayed continuously and was only done because I kept calling.
They don’t communicate with each other, or procurement.
They didn’t give me the promised credit.
And at the end, they didn’t send the bill to the right place

I purchased a garage door from Best Overhead Door in 2008. I got a door that has windows and plastic inserts in them. I had problems right away with one of the inserts slipping down and showing the top of the glass. I got a guy out right away from overhead who was rude to me and told me just to super glue them. I did not feel comfortable trying to fix on my own. So called them back and they sent someone else out who supposedly tightened the frame. Had same problem soon after and just have been living with it for many years by pushing up the inserts about once a week. It is now 2014 and the plastic inserts have warped and I can no longer push them back up in the frame. I called Overhead and they are willing to come out and fix the problem for a COST. Garage door itself is ok except they said it is insulated and what a change it would make, I have not noticed any change, actually in the summer, it seems hotter then with the old door. Also their spring they put in broke a couple of years ago and had to have it replaced. I think the worst part of this is Best Overhead wants to charge me again for their faulty product!!! Isn’t 6 years of living with this problem payment enough!!!

Our repair man, Dave, great! He was up front and easy to communicate with regarding our garage door problems. He replace a few parts and adjusted a sensor. Our door is now quiet and shuts routinely. These guys provided us a very professional experience. We would use them again.

When your garage door won’t go up, these guys are the answer. They can generally get you on the schedule within a day. Their techs arrive on-​time. And they do good work. They also have a propensity to repair rather than just to replace.
