Tidy Gnomes

The Gnomes have been visiting us for over a year and the evening after they visit is our favorite Every Week. The house looks amazing and there is no funky chemical smells, just sweet cleanness! Often I’m home for part of their visit with my kids and they are Amazing with our kids. Seriously amazing. I love that they are happy to help with whatever we need each visit, not just limiting us to the usual toilet cleans. They handle glitter craft explosions and funky fridge spills with ease, all while listening to a three year old wax poetic on pink. Every week I find some special spot they noticed and gave love to, without my even mentioning it. They feel more like a helpful family extension than a «cleaning service» (honestly, it feels weird even typing that phrase while thinking of them,) and we list their inclusion in our lives as something we really cherish. Deana and Ceci are beautiful people and have created a beautiful business!

The Tidy Gnomes offer an excellent alternative to corporate cleaners. They are thorough, efficient, and represent small business ethics that I care about. They’ve been cleaning my 4-​bedroom home for several months and I’ve enjoyed working with them and having them in my home. This was my first experience paying for house cleaning and the Gnomes appreciate the weirdness this can present. Their website is fantastic and eases any concerns about this, as does meeting them in person. I have had just a few issues with minor oversights; some floors have been scratched by moving furniture to clean, and I don’t always see the level of detailed, deep cleaning that I’d like. For the most part, however, the Gnomes do a great job. They have added a quality of life that I fully appreciate by giving me time in exchange for a competitive rate. Their magical spirit certainly helps, too!

I have had the Gnombes working in my vacation rentals now for about a year and a half. I haven’t had any complaints regarding my homes being dirty, so I assume they are doing a great job! They also go get supplies when I am low or out, as I don’t live locally. That is a big help for my business. I recommend them for sure.

The Gnomes are amazing! When I decided to go back to work after having a baby, I knew that something was going to have to give. And I finally decided to hire someone to help with house cleaning. I love coming home to not only a clean house but a completed «to do» list! They don’t use harsh chemicals and and are always timely and professional. When I did raise a concern with the owners, it was handled quickly and professionally. I highly recommend the Tidy Gnomes (especially for new mamas!)

I love the Tidy Gnomes. Honestly, I think a lot of people who hire people to help with the cleaning have unrealistic expectations. In my experience they are the most consistent of anyone I have ever hired. They are always on time. They do everything I ask them to do. The only thing that stands in their way is my disorganization and they even help with that where they can. One thing I love about them is that they NEVER reschedule me. Even around the holidays when they get a lot of requests for special help they are able to keep coming. They are lovely people with very sweet personalities. They are very kind to my old dog. I am often home when they are here, and they are BUSY the whole time. I highly recommend them, but I encourage people to be honest and realistic about what they expect to have done.

I’ve had the Gomes clean my 1000 square foot home once a month for the last year. They send two gnomes for two hours (4 gnome hours). Costs me about $ 100. Totally worth it for this working mom of two.
They deep clean my kitchen, bathroom and all my floors. Plus dust, wipe everything down and tidy up (kids beds made and arranged, magazines stacked neatly, etc.) I’ve left a note requesting extra work (windows, gritty windowsill tracks) and they always work it in.
They do not use chemicals so the house is clean, but scentless. They are always on time and responsive to my notes, requests and feedback. These local ladies are young, energetic and have a great business model. I was inspired to support their business and am pleased with the value and their work.

Gnomes might work in the garden but they sure did not work for me. Normally when we hire someone to do a deep clean the place looks and smells great– it pops when you walk in the door! Not this time. We had to search to see what they did. The house I needed cleaning was empty and less than 800 square feet. Having a number of rentals and having hired move out cleaners I have certain expectations both to the price and quality of service. They failed on both.
They came unprepared. They had no way of reaching the top shelves or light fixtures. When I pointed this out one of them went home and brought back two chairs. When I came to check on the progress about two hours the three of them had not moved out of the kitchen and bathroom. Neither room was that dirty. The exception was the oven. I had already cleaned the stove top and all of the drawers. I believe I also paid for their lunch break.
They did a very poor job on the window sills, floors and base boards. I had to go back and redo them.
Lastly, they seemed more concerned with cleaning out our prior tenants of their cleaning deposit than of providing us with an honest service. $ 455.00 dollars later, we felt that we were the ones taken to the cleaners.

We’ve worked with the Tidy Gnomes consistently for over a year now. They have been a real asset to our airbnb business. Not only are they thorough, but they really care about us and the homes they are cleaning. We trust them and really leave getting the places ready for guests in their hands. Working with the Tidy Gnomes has made the work we do through airbnb possible. It’s worth every penny. They are also pleasant, thoughtful and sweet, and if we’re in a bind, we can send a test and within just a few minutes we’re working out the details.

We love our gnomes! The gnomes have been cleaning our home for about a year now, and besides being wonderful and super sweet ladies the house is impeccable every time they’ve been here. There had been occasions when we noticed some minor things had been missed on days replacement-​gnomes came to our house. But after we brought that to Ceci’s & Deana’s attention, there had never been just the slightest issue. On the contrary: What our gnomes get done in the house in just 2 hours is AMAZING! It is nothing but a pleasure to come home after work on a gnome day!
We think as a start-​up the gnomes were faced with normal growing pains of an expanding business such as finding employees who meet their high standards. They asked us in advance whether it was okay to bring someone new in; and after we told them about the issues we found they took immediately action! Nothing more one could expect! We are very happy with our gnomes!

The Gnomes RULE! We couldn’t be any happier with the amazing job they do. Last week they even cleaned out our cat’s litter box — unheard of! We often have special requests (change of dates, different start times, etc.) and they are always accommodating and flexible. They’re just truly good people who take pride in doing their job well.
The Gnomes have been making our house sparkle for over a year now and we can’t imagine life without them. Can’t recommend them highly enough!

i normally do not write reviews especially negative ones but every time I look around my house I feel the need to provide my two cents.
We hired the gnomes to clean our house prior to listing it for sale. Most of the work had been done already but with a newborn in the house there were some things that we just weren’t going to finish. The gnomes came to the house and I described our needs — clean all trim work and doors, clean blinds, wipe down kitchen cabinets, clean inside cabinets, and clean oven after running the clean cycle. I was quoted two gnomes for 3 hours. My partner and I have done this type of spring cleaning before so the quote seemed appropriate.
The gnomes arrived on time and admitted they hadn’t read the email that told them what was expected of them. I walked through the house and explained our needs. During the estimate we had discussed leaving my number so the gnomes could check in and let me know if they would be able to finish on time. I left my phone number and asked that they call if there were any issues.
When I arrived home I was frustrated and angry to find that less than half the work had been completed. Maybe half the blinds were cleaned, almost none of the trim work, none of the doors, definitely not the oven. I am writing this today because I keep finding places in my home that should have been addressed and they weren’t. Every spot I find makes me even angrier. I emailed the gnomes and they refunded half of the bill. I should have demanded a full refund. We ran out of time and ended up showing the house without the finishing touches completed.
Don’t hire them. They did not work with any kind of purpose or pride.

These guys are awesome! I needed desperate help with my place that was dusty beyond what my allergies could handle. I hired them for two hours and came home to a spotless apartment. The blinds and windows and floors and shelves and pictures were dust free. They got under books and electronics and into nooks and crannies. I’m so pleased.
I was initially only going to use them this one time but I’m thinking every couple months could use another good deep clean by them.

Not sure what is going on with Tidy Gnomes. I was so excited about their stellar reviews that I just had to give them a try. I contacted them via the Contact page on their website. After four days with no reply, I sent a private message to their Facebook page, thinking maybe their contact form was broken. That was over a week ago and still no reply. I could call, but I would not do business with them at this point anyway.(which is such a bummer!)

They should be called Angels not Gnomes! :)
I’m speechless at how much Celcilia and Deana saved my wedding day! They are truly awesome people and I’m grateful that I found them.
When I saw The Gnomes on Unilocal two months ago, I was looking for someone to clean up after my wedding because our venue didn’t offer a clean up crew. First, spoke to Cecilia on the phone and then met them both for tea to discuss the details of the wedding day. I was immediately impressed. The Gnomes were not only professional, but genuinely great people overall. They have a sense of humor and professionalism that makes you want to work with them everyday.
On the day of my wedding, they worked quickly and efficiently to make sure that everything was cleaned and organized as quickly as possible. I hardly noticed them during the party — they were working diligently behind the scenes to make sure everything was running smoothly. It wasn’t until the party was winding down, that I came into the kitchen to find them working like a well-​oiled machine to make sure that our venue was cleaned and organized on time. It was a big job and they tackled it with finesse, grace, and professionalism. I was impressed with their positive demeanor, even at the busiest part of the evening.
I would highly recommend The Gnomes for any event — especially a wedding — because they add a sweetness to the magic of such an event. I’m sure they’re amazing housecleaners too. I’d hire them all the time if I didn’t live in Seattle.

I love these gals! I had family coming into town on short notice and needed some cleaning hands ASAP! They were able to accommodate the timing and clean my house within 4 days. They even agreed to meet me at my house really early before work (7:00am!) I have an anxious little dog that I had sequestered to the back office and Deanna was so thoughtful, asking if they should let her out while they were there or before they left. Both Cecilia and Deanna had such great energy and kind warm presence, I completely trusted them in my home. And they made it shine! Thank you so much ladies!

I grabbed a flyer for the Tidy Gnomes at Whole Foods and called them as I wasn’t needing house cleaning per se, more like two to four more hands to help me get parts of my house into shape. Cecilia and Deanna are lovely, intelligent and responsible. I have used them to help me organize and pack up my holiday items, bag and organize my giveaways for charity, clean my whole house or just the parts that needed it. I am a SAHM soon to be returning to work and I will count on the Tidy Gnomes to help me with the tasks I don’t get to and can’t stand… the ones that take me (and my easily distracted mind) away from family time or me-time…closet straightening and re=organizing, occasional cooking, help with my kids… you name it. I can use the hours I purchase as I need them…
