The Portlander Inn

Stayed here on a Friday night, it’s definitely worth rating 5 stars based on it being considered a budget 1 star hotel. Room was clean, microwave, fridge, basic cable, 2 firms beds, hair dryer, coffee maker and a desk. I didn’t notice any more or less noise than the average hotel, no smoke smell in room, no bedbugs and decent water pressure.
Great facilities offered here too. There’s an exercise room, laundromat, deli, cinema and quick mart store that’s all part of the hotel.
It’s set up for truckers and travelers. I will be back.

The only thing that would improve this place, is gasoline and a match. What a dump. Every possible aspect of this place is terrible. The food sucks, the people suck, the bed bugs suck, the store sucks, and room 208 really sucks!

not much value here … for over $ 90 a night you woulld expect more than just free coffee from 6am –10am, the west wing is OK but the queen room beds where as hard as a rock, nice to, have everything onsiteat the Jubiltz but at a HIGH cost… Cinema plays $ 5 … second run movies that are weeks away from redbox release (used to be $ 3 for first run movies)
Be sure tto read my tip on the Nighhtly Pet Fee…. . go stay att Days innn or Motel 6 ½ mile away by I-​5 and save yourrself $ 30 + to buy dinner at a decent restaurant within walking distance

This place is terrible! The room stink and the bedding is questionable. We, as a company mostly stay in Best Western type hotels but when in Portland we stay here. I hate it!

I was not happy with this hotel at all gave it two stars because the post office on site was very nice to deal with. The Room was so Dirty I don’t think they new how to vacum or clean a shower. Had to ask three times for a Blow dryer and After three people and 8 hours I finally recived one. they also don’t tell you have to have your keys rekeyed every day or that if you have a car that you need a car pass for the car and if you don’t have one they put a Big green notice on you window Warning you. I will diffintly not stay here again. After complaining they did give me my first night free .BUT I would of reather had a CLEAN ROOM !!! And our waitress was a hole nother story. We were bothering her asking for Lemmon for our water witch she never gave us even after asking her Four times .Just bad all the way around. icould go on just look for another place if I was you.

We have been staying here at least once a year since about 2007 and have always been very happy there, and recommended it to many friends. This weekend was different. First, do not stay in the East Wing, It’s supposedly the «economy» wing but still is no bargain at $ 92.70 considering the room is behind the marketplace, and you have to walk by the people hanging out in front of the bar. The room had a shower head that was chin level, so you had to be a gymnast to wash your hair. The room was not ready at check-​in time, and we were told half an hour so we wandered around and came back. Still not ready, ended up waiting just under an hour. Then the room smelled of cleaning products, so bad we had to leave the bathroom fan and AC on to
try and clear it. The AC made clunking noises all night. The theater is still a great bargain, and we really enjoyed Argo, but those seats are getting pretty dirt and even threadbare. When we got gas we were happy that the employee washed the windshield, but leaving this morning we discovered that he had just spread around the dead bugs, I had to stop and do it again before we hit the freeway. Oh, one more thing. Imagine plugging the clock radio into a switched outlet??? The clock was flashing midnight so I set it, then when we went to bed turned off the lights and away went the clock.

This place isn’t a bad place to stay. The bad part of this hotel is that its located next to a truck stop. So sleeping in is out of the question with all the truck traffic noise. But otherwise fairly clean with a resturaunt and convent store on site. Don’t get a room on the 4^th floor unless you like smoking. They have «no smoking» rooms up there but they all still smell like smoke. If you are into people watching then the bar on site is the place to go. You have to see it to understand what I am talking about.

How is this not been reviewed yet? I’ve never stayed at the hotel. Why not? Uhhhh cuz I live like 3 miles from here, but I go see cheap second run movies here at the cinema for $ 3 all the time.
Wait for the buzz to die down on that summer blockbuster, go see it here a few weeks after it came out, and voila! You just saved seven bucks!
Plus, they have a mini mart right outside. You can bring in whatever you want to eat from there, or they also have Umpqua Ice Cream and sundaes you can get at the concession stand to take in.
Very nice, small and clean theater.
