Residence Inn Portland North Harbour

Good complimentary breakfast, also the reason why we chose this hotel over the Courtyard Marriott by the airport. Specifically there was fried potatoes and beef, sausage patties and scrambled eggs. There was also a waffle-​maker (only 1!), english muffins, croissants, other pastries, fresh fruits, drink machine, milk cartons, coffee, juice, cheese, salsa, sour cream.
Hot breakfast items were significantly lacking for vegetarians. Wish there were signs telling you what the hot plate items are.
TV in room is at an odd angle and are not flat screens, surprising since even budget chains like Days Inn have flatscreens. Kitchen includes all the necessities for a longer stay. In-​room thermostat. Rooms were clean, wish I stayed for more than a night!
Very convenient location on the I-​5, but it’s not as close to the airport as it appears on the map (~20 minutes ride). There are no courtesy phones to call the airport shuttle from the airport, but you can use Hangouts Dialer app and the Wifi at Portland Airport to call the hotel and request a shuttle (it took 30 minutes for them to get to the airport). The front desk assistant we talked to on the phone mistakenly told us to go to the wrong place, it should be ISLAND 2, not Baggage Claim 2.

This place needs a major update. The tv’s have to be from the late 90’s and it seems the place hasn’t been updated since. Its kind of hard to travel with young kids that have gadgets and devices that are of this century and need a HDMI connection, and experience TV’s that are older than the kids and have AV and S Video at most. I actually had to buy a cheap HDMI Flatscreen for the entirety of my stay (This is what your multimillion dollar company should do). The bathrooms were dated and the baseboard in the shower left much room for water to sit behind it creating a possible mold situation. Doesnt seem like the best look for the Marriott brand. A bit embarrassing.
I travel often, and my mother actually works for the Marriott, so I tend to give them a second chance more than other brands. Lately Hilton has been kicking the Marriotts ass plain and simple. Example; the Hilton Homewood Suites across the bridge on the I-​5 in Vancouver is head and shoulders better than this Marriott Residence Inn. Starting with a new feel, down to the price.

Got a suite with two rooms and a kitchen. The roll out bed is a little rough for anyone seeking a couch spot. It is clean and everything you expect from a residence inn. The place is next to apartments and condos so it is really packed in this little neck of the woods. There are nearby cute towns to explore (Kenson Station?) — but they are heavy on the cannabis stores in these neighboring towns. Easy freeway on and off to Downtown and Vancouver.

Stayed here for one night recently and, for the most part, was satisfied.
Although I did not arrive until about 8:30 PM, I was given the room I requested — on the top floor and away from the elevator. My room, a suite, really, was clean, comfortable, and, most importantly, quiet. And that is what matters to me most in a hotel room.
I picked this location as I was in town to attend an event at the Expo Center and it is an (easy) 10 minute or so walk away, [Also, if you are so inclined, there is a MAX station right next to the Expo Center. So, you could stay at this Residence Inn — for a fraction of what you’d pay closer to town — take that walk and the jump on the MAX to get anywhere you need to be in the city.]
My one disappointment was with the breakfast. The food, as is typical of that found at free hotel buffets, was serviceable, if not gourmet. But, I am a tea drinker, and, they had NO BLACK TEA. I do not want cinnamon stuff. Or, lemon stuff. I just want a simple black — e.g., orange pekoe, English Breakfast — tea. (I did ask the breakfast room attendant who apologized, but said she had none available.) And then, I gave in and went for some green tea — not my first choice — and drank only a sip before I tossed it out because it tasted like coffee. The Residence Inn, like many, many other places — oh, why do they do this? — apparently swaps out it carafes, using them for coffee one day, hot water the next, Only, no matter how much one cleans, the coffee taste never quite leaves the carafe. So, if you use it for hot water the next day, anything made with the water retains a coffee taste.
My advice to the Residence Inn: Have some sort of black tea available at your hot beverage station. (I am sure I am not the only tea drinker who would welcome this.) Have a carafe or two — that never, ever, are filled with coffee — dedicated to holding hot water. (I am sure I am not the only tea drinker who would welcome this, too.)
I would happily stay at your hotel again. And, were all else from my last visit to repeat, these two simple things would turn that four-​star rating into a five.

Worst Residence Inn I ever stayed in. Old TV and furniture, lousy breakfast, no evening meal that most have. Kitchen workers terrible. Always stay in Residence Inns. Front desk people very nice. Enough said, will never stay here again.

I am a Marriott member and so disappointed about this location. When we walked in, we were not even welcome– we were asked for a credit card and id– the worst and coldest check in ever– I think it was a manager who checked us in — it was my birthday — she never said anything — I wish I had her name because she does not belong in Marriott or the hospitality business — we had another reservation for the last day which we gladly cancelled — I will never stay there again — stay at Towne place in Vancouver WA– they r closer to the airport — brand new and as close to Portland — I urge u to do so — this place needs remodeling and fire staff. And I come from 18 years in the industry — so sad for Marriott …

Nice, I would stay here again if I needed a place to stay in Portland. Clean and spacious rooms. TV’s are a bit dated, one was missing a remote. They gave us a free upgrade when we checked in. Excellent service.

Excellent hotel. Very pretty in the lobby area. The breakfast area was also very nice and bright — and a really good complimentary breakfast buffet every morning.
Parking is free, as is wifi. This hotel is on the pricey side (normal for Portland), so I used a lot of my points for the room. I stayed 3 nights and had no issues at all with the hotel.
My room was a large suite, plenty of room. There was a full kitchen, including stove top and full-​sized frig. The linens were clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spotless. No complaints whatsoever.
This location is way north Portland — about 5 minutes across the bridge to Washington, right off of I-​5. It takes about 15 — 30 minutes to get into downtown Portland, depending on traffic. It was a good location for me. It is VERY convenient to the Scenic Columbia River Gorge drive (be sure to do this if you are in the area — go all the way to Bridge of the Gods — very pretty).
There was a nice coin laundry room on my floor, and I think they were on other floors too. Staff is nice and housekeeping does a good job. I would definitely stay here again. All good. No complaints.

Pleasant stay. I love the location of this hotel. This gets four stars because it’s about what I’d expect from a Mariott Residence Inn. Clean rooms, comfortable stay, friendly staff. Feels a bit expensive in general, but not compared to other nearby hotels. Doesn’t get five stars because there’s nothing particularly special or nice. Exercise room is cramped, breakfast is average, etc.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Portland for the first time and had we had such an amazing experience because of this hotel. The staff was so willing, really going above and beyond their duties to ensure that our stay was as pleasant and easy. They have a courtesy shuttle from the airport (by the way good job PDX for the heat lamps at the shuttle and taxi waiting area) and was greeted by Rutan, the driver. He was friendly and knowledgeable of the city, on our way to the hotel he was pointing out the hidden gems that Portland had to offer. When we checked in late at night, Lexie was up at the front desk and she had our check-​in process rolling even before we got out of the shuttle. All we had to do was sign away and grab the keys by the time we came in– whatta service! She coordinated our rides for us to and from our dinner destination, making sure us out of towners weren’t lost and frazzled during our late night out.
The room was great, one bedroom suite with a kitchenette and all cooking amenities you can ask for including a full size fridge and microwave. It was very clean, bathroom well updated, sheets were pristine and it was quiet. It’s a great and comfortable place to stay, specially if you’re planning on being here for a lengthy period of time.
The hotel had great amenities including a 24hour gym, pool with I think jacuzzi (didn’t have time to use) and basketball court. It’s super close to the MAX train station so downtown was very easy access, 20 min ride. They offer a complimentary cocktail hour serving refreshments which included wine and beer and appetizers like Brie and spinach dips, and even have food trucks come by at times (which we missed). The manager on duty was very pleasant and we had a good conversation with him, easy going approachable and organized a good event.
I can go on and on about how amazing my experience was in this hotel, it will be my home away from home when we travel back to this great city! Thank you to the wonderful staff for your hospitality, five stars from us!

We had a really nice stay here.
We chose this hotel partially because we had a Marriott rewards certificate to use, but I would absolutely chose this place again. It is a bit cheaper than staying downtown, but has great access to public transportation, so the distance doesn’t matter.
The hotel was dated on the inside (2 ancient BOX TVs, lol), but it was clean, spacious, and had what we needed.
The feature that sold us the most was the free airport transportation. We called when we arrived and within minutes the shuttle was there and ready. It was a quick ride to the hotel and the driver was incredibly friendly and had good recommendations for our trip.
The hotel is also located super close (walking distance) to the MAX light rail service. Cheap and easy transport right to downtown Portland!
Breakfast was free and decent. A slight step above the traditional continental breakfast fare. We ate here both mornings. We also needed to run to Target for contact solution and the shuttle driver was able to take us no problem.

OK hotel, but outdated. I honestly don’t remember the last time I stayed in a hotel with a tube TV. The gym could use an update as well. Location was close to my office, but had limited things to do in the surrounding area. The staff was somewhat friendly, but not extremely helpful. I asked for running trail recos nearby and they really couldn’t answer. I also had issues with the wifi in my room — very, very slow which isn’t conducive to being on the road for work.

We usually stay in downtown Portland when visiting but for one night we decided to give the Residence Inn a try. What a happy surprise! The property was extremely well kept– our room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, the layout of the suite was functional and the kitchenette was well stocked with seemingly brand new utensils and cookware. The 3^rd floor was very quiet. The breakfast featured a wide variety of decent hot and cold items and fresh pineapple and bananas. Zipping into and out of City center was a cinch. There is a pedestrian pathway to nearby Delta Park for a nature break from the highways surrounding the property.

Marriott Residence Inn Portland — North Harbor. We stayed two nights (Friday and Saturday), for a killer price ($ 107 plus taxes ($ 15.52)), and were very comfortable. We found the hotel clean, the breakfast buffet hot with good variety, and the room prepared and ready.
We chose this hotel because we had tickets for Cirque du Soleil’s Totem, now at the Portland Expo Center, a ten-​minute walk from here.

You’re in the middle of nowhere, but it’s cheaper to stay here versus downtown. Even though Google maps may say it only takes about 10 minutes to get to downtown, don’t trust the app. In rush hour traffic, it will actually take 30 – 45 minutes to get to downtown.
I stayed here because it was along the river and thought I’d have a nice view, but no such luck. I stayed last month when Portland had had its first major snow, so everything was slushy. The parking lot’s not sanded or salted, so be forewarned.
The front entrance is a bit tricky, since it’s after the «Residence Inn» sign, but the door is right off of the street. Parking is free. There’s also a side door people can enter if they have a room key.
The hallways have seen better days. The lone elevator is slow, and the carpets could use a thorough cleaning. At least there is an elevator, since there are none at the Residence Inn near Lloyd Center (downtown Portland).
But, even though the hotel may seem dingy, the rooms are actually pretty nice. You do get a kitchen (no oven, unlike the Residence Inn near Lloyd Center) and big fridge. There is a small dining table, a couch that can seat 3 people, and a coffee table. My room had a separate bedroom from the living room and kitchen.
The staff were friendly, and the breakfast was okay. The eggs and sausage could be done better, but at least there’s a waffle-​making station. In the evenings, the light dinner is nothing to write home about, but there’s free, unlimited, help-​yourself-​to wine (red and white) and beer (Bud Light, Bud Light Lime, Michelob Ultra, and Budweiser). That’s always a plus!
I stayed here because of Marriott’s mega bonus (been going on the last three quarters). If you stay four different times at any Marriott chain, you get two nights free (category 1 – 5 hotels). I probably won’t stay here again because my workplace is close to downtown. But if you’re traveling for leisure, this hotel will probably do!

I stayed here for two nights over a weekend. We heard a lot of noise from the people above us and from the hallway. A bit more than most Residence Inns that I have stayed in. The breakfast nook felt very small and poorly laid out. WiFi was fairly slow and inconsistent. We had a corner room which meant the light streamed in. We found out the last morning that there is a pull down shade we just didn’t see. The water would not get hot, just warm as others have noted. I did not interact much with the staff, but they seemed friendly enough.

I spent a little over a week at this hotel and my overall stay was enjoyable. The rooms are clean and spacious, the staff is courteous, they offer complimentary breakfast as well as a «social hour» a few times a week. The social hour consists of dinner, wine/​beer/​pop and the food was pretty good. You can’t beat free! My only complaint would have to be that their free WIFI is spotty. I kept dropping my WIFI and would have to log in again. A major pet peeve someone who is constantly using the internet.
Also, the water never got hot. It was warm but never hot. No hot showers on this trip! :(

My family and I really loved staying here during the Memorial Day weekend! The staff was very helpful and engaging, from the time we requested a shuttle to pick us up from the Portland Airport, and throughout the duration of our trip! We have always loved the Residence Inn amenities because the hotel rooms always come with a full kitchen. And this particular one came with a complimentary free breakfast, complimentary wi-​fi, as well as the evening social hour on certain days of the week (which really helped out with dinner, when we just felt like staying in for the night)! Our one bedroom suite was very clean, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better! We did find that this location was further out from downtown Portland than we would have liked. But I have to admit that it would be an ideal location for travelers whose itineraries are not so much in downtown Portland, but more for the scenic natural beauty and wonders of the surrounding area! This hotel is definitely located much closer to all the nature sights, compared to a lot of the hotels in downtown.
We visited Multnomah Falls and the Columbia River Gorge, two extremely captivating natural must-​see wonders! There is a MAX train location at the EXPO Center that is a 10-​minute walk from the hotel. But the only thing is that it is an end of the line location, and you have to cross a major freeway intersection to get to the train station. If you decide to use it, it is pretty convenient to go into downtown! But since it is an end of the line location, and because it can be very quiet there on weekends, I would advise you to make sure you always walk there with a group of people, and not by yourself. Other than that, we had a really nice time staying at this particular Residence Inn!

Our company held a training workshop for two days here and it was a very good experience. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and conference room was very spacious. The hotel rooms are very spacious and open which makes it feel as if you are in a 2 bedroom hotel. Every room has access to a kitchen and separate bedroom so again the feel is much larger than your average hotel room.
The hotel was extra quiet and low occupancy which is actually a good thing. Seemed to be secluded not on major streets so this hotel is a great find. They have prompt/​free shuttle service to and from the airport and other locations which makes getting around easy. Also shout out to the catering/​conference staff… I think her name was Ashley… She was awesome! So if your company or organization wants to plan meetings/​training, this is a great hotel to do it at. The breakfast and lunch was wonderful too. Not a continental breakfast but a full breakfast and great lunch items.
As you can see for a hotel the ratings on Unilocal is pretty good. It is hard to keep good ratings with hotels since so many of us (including me) critique every little thing about our stays but this hotel has great ratings.
**They also have a managers reception each night. So if you like getting drunk every night you could, for free! :)

Clean hotel and very friendly staff. Its nice having the kitchens in the rooms for extended stay guests.
