History
Established in 1907.
In the world of hospitality, there are a few unexpected places in which timeless European flair, cultured style and Old World courtesy are vibrantly alive. These lasting impressions are also accompanied by a profound respect for another very precious aspect: your comfort.
In 1907, The Nortonia Hotel opened its doors in the heart of Portland’s Theatre District and quickly became known as the «home-away-from-home» for many of the artists who performed in the theatric productions of the time.
All aboard the Autobus! While in Portland, guests of the Hotel would often tour the City on autobusses, also known as trackless-trolleys. Terwilliger Boulevard Sightseeing Trips originated at The Nortonia Hotel, where they maintained an information bureau in the lobby for several years.
The Nortonia was remodeled in 1966 and renamed The Mark Spencer Hotel.
Welcome to The Mark Spencer Hotel, an exceptional value in the hub of the city.
