Hop Dog

Hop dog is a casual establishment, one needs to check out if you’re a hot dog fan. I love getting hot dogs in different cities, it’s just one of those things that I love doing. Whether it’s in Chicago, Cincinatti, New York or Japadog (Vancouver). We ordered up the Hubert & the Maybelle which is basically like a Chicago dog or a Cincinatti dog. The pretzel bun was soft, and both delicious. We got both dogs, chips and a beer for less than what one would pay at a stadium. It’s not really a place to sit and hang out, as there really are no tables.

Polite, friendly, wonderful employees. Great food, clean restaurant and relaxing environment. Great place to eat!!!

YUM! Y’all kill savory, maybe a lil sweet… I’ll take ketchup. whatever you think, I’m in!

I came here for lunch with coworkers, because they left 2-​for-​1 coupons in our office. My first impression was that this place is small. As a group of four we had to sit at the wall bar as there was not a four person table.
Onto the dogs… I had the Hubert and the Maybelle. The Hubert was delicious mainly because I love tomatoes and banana peppers, but the Maybelle was a little disappointing. They claim Cincinnati chili, but it wasn’t «real» Cincinnati chili. I enjoyed the hotdogs, and definitely needed two of them to consider it a full meal. Without the 2-​for-​1 coupon, the meal would have been $ 12.50, which is a little too spendy for what you get. I enjoyed eating here, but will only be back if they get the same deal.

Come to L. A!!! Please!!! This is more of an imperative sentence than a declarative! It’s imperative you come and make lots of profits in L. A!!!

Some nice hot dogs, the dude working there was very cool about everything. Only complaint is the limited menu alongside that only two flavors of chips. Nice quick grab and go location though for some quality hot dogs.

I love hot dogs and I’m picky about them (see other reviews). I love this dog. It’s simple yet full of flavor, it’s fast and it’s fairly price. That is a winning combination as far as I’m concerned.
The dog has a decent snap to it. It’s got a simple and salty smoke flavor. But the bun here is what seals the deal for me. The fluffy pretzel bun is killer. I’ve not had a dog this good anywhere.

Ridiculously good hot dogs. Best I’ve had in the city by far. Pretty inexpensive for what you get: A great Olympia Provisions dog with locally sourced, freshly baked (and delicious) pretzel rolls for the bun. Even the dice of the onions and the grating style of the cheese is something that some consideration has gone into. Plus, probably the best tasting chili dog I’ve ever had in my life. This place is open pretty late into the evening so it’s a good first stop after some drinks at Clyde Common or anywhere else nearby.

Hop Dog is a great place. With a standard menu of three hot dogs (named after the owner’s dogs) they add a rotating fourth. This week it was the Frankie. Wow! Beans and franks in a pretzel bun topped with the great slaw from Son of a Biscuit. I can’t tell you what’s coming up but the friendly chef gave me a sample and I can’t wait!
Small and cozy with a great staff. Worth dropping in at least once a week to check out the special or get your old stand-​by. And they even have a Happy Hour!

Fantastic hot dogs from Olympia Provisions. Love the dogs, but my only qualm is that there isn’t much variety. They routinely have about 3 dogs on the menu, with one special daily. The 3 routine dogs are delicious, but why stop there!!! The specials are so delicious, that I only wish they were added to the main menu. I think that’s what would set this place apart from others and draw more of a crowd. I would definitely be more apt to come here more often if I knew I could get the jalapeño and mango salsa dog with pork rinds again and again. Trust me, it’s that good.

My first time here and it was fantastic. I got The Hubert, which is about half way to a Chicago Dog but on an amazing pretzel bun. I don’t even really like hot dogs that much, but this was a great, cheap lunch. Quick, casual, and fun.
