A great Philly Cheesesteak and great service. This is what all food carts should strive for. I also appreciate that the cheesesteaks can be bought in different sizes.

Plentiful in size and serving, for me the flavor was okay. I’d eat it again but wouldn’t go our if my way to do so. It’s located right in Pioneer square so no problems finding a place to plop a squat and grub down. The guy working the cart was funny and amused us while we waited for our food. Pricing was decent; you can’t eat with the change in your pocket but at least a bottle of water is only a buck. The napkins they offer are skimpy but I guess your typical city street food napkin. There wasn’t a line when we arrived but after we ordered the line got hella long and I noticed the cart worker handled them all quickly and in an organized major

I have been ordering Philly cheese steaks from this cart for years now. This guy makes the best cheese steaks in town. Yummy, cheesy, meaty, chewy, and tasty. When I want to indulge, this is where I go.

3.5 stars for a good cheeseteak made to order overlooking Pioneer Courthouse Square. $ 6.50 for a small, $ 7.50 for a medium, and $ 8.50 for a large. Soda or water is another $ 1. The sammich was pretty good and came with onions, peppers, and mushrooms, but could have used more cheese. The portion sizes are good, the service is reasonably quick considering the guy from scratch on a street cart, and there’s a wide variety of condiments/hot sauces. The best part is that you can grab a table(and some shade on a sunny day) from one of the communal benches above the square.

Excellent food at this Pioneer Square food cart(directly opposite the Chase ATM). Menu is simple — either a cheesesteak(small, medium, large) or a hamburger or cheeseburger. They make it totally fresh on order, so give yourself 15 – 20 minutes. They will give you a phone number on request to call in your order if you want to go back. They’re generous with portion size, so don’t feel shy about paying for a large — the cheesesteak microwaves will enough to be a second meal. Although normally closing at 6:00 on weekdays and 5:00 on Saturdays, they sometimes stay open if Pioneer Square is hosting a special event.

Food was great but they’re open later than what the app says. Either 5:30 or 6:30 in some seasons.

Wanted to try it but the cook/cashier is unsanitary. Doesn’t wash hands, doesn’t use gloves, and touches the money(the dirtiest thing you could ever touch) while touching your food. After I ordered, I watched everything he did. After I seen him do that me and my lady walked away. How does portland get away with that? In Seattle this placed would get shut down in a heartbeat.

With a name that could easily exist in New York City, Steaks Fifth Avenue sets out to compose a perfect urban location. It is among the few food carts located directly in Pioneer Courthouse Square. Several tables fit with patio umbrellas can be found right to the side. The price is neither the best, nor the worst. I walked into Pioneer Square just looking for anything to eat. After standing in line for three minutes, I ordered a large Philly cheesesteak and a Shirley Temple Soda for a grand total of $ 10. The order was ready after four minutes. Subsequently after receiving my meal, I sat down. The sandwich was fairly good. My desire to leave out peppers and onions in order to look like a bratty Midwestern kid by some standards was skillfully obliged, though the mushrooms were tasty. The beef was tender and the cheese fit well. Steaks Fifth Avenue could provide some sides, but they don’t even provide bags of chips. Two carts over has little snacks such as corn dogs and can fill that little«need». Let the sandwich sit before eating it, as my tongue has a small burn as I write. Although the price was not outstanding, a good sandwich requires good beef and they cut few corners. The location might be perfect for someone who works in the high rise offices of downtown. Steaks Fifth Avenue is a modest contribution to the casual bites of Portland.

One of the many beautiful sights of Portland lies in my hands about 10 minutes after Ben takes my order! The cheesesteaks here are simply delicious! They come packed with tender, piping hot steak that oozes with cheese. It all meshes together so well, and even tastes great after cooling off… I rarely allow that to happen! Operating hours are not super reliable, but on a weekday around 1, you have a great chance of getting steaked!

Best Philly Cheese Steaks in town, bar none! I love this place, and I hate the hours. I have been going here for 5 years now. Not nearly as often as I would like, because I am working almost all the times they are open. Aside from that complaint, I will say that there is no better philly anywhere in town. The largest size is around $ 8 bucks and comes loaded with meat. A little skimpy on the veggies, so I ask for extra. Comes outs juicy and fairly quickly(depending on how much the owner is bsing with the pretty girls :)) Never tried the burgers. If I am lucky enough to be there when they are open, I am having a philly. Worth noting(though this bit has nothing to do with the cart) that the parking in this area SUCKS, and it may be hard to find a spot. There are no tables for any of the carts at this pod. The street is super busy, so you are likely going to want to take your delicious noms and go elsewhere. I would say this cart rest proudly on the OLDest cart pod in Portland. This pod was here before any of the others were even dreamed of. Steaks Fifth Avenue has been a stable since I first started going here.

Really good food. Nothing mind blowing. Good none the less. Everything is made to order so it takes a little bit to cook it. I had the double cheese burger which was nicely cooked. Good size. And fresh toppings. Would most definitely recommend to friends!

Having come from NYC I was hesitant to try a cheese steak in the most touristy section of portland, but the man in the cart convinced me. I am so glad he did best cheese steak I have had in Portland and the prices are quite reasonable. Thanks Ben.

Actually named«Philly Cheesesteakes and Burgers». You’ll find this food cart in Pioneer Square, the main square in Portland. A simple menu leading to the best burger in town: I tried many of the«best burgers in town» but this is for sure my favourite. Angus meat, bacon, cheddar and(+/-) pickles. Love it!

The cook is short and to the point with his words. comes off kind of rude, but you don’t gotta live with the guy! Enjoy the cheesesteaks alot. crave em all the time. Be ready to wait a while for your food though.

This cart is in a convenient location and the guy working it is so friendly! I’m not a cheesesteak fiend(they’re never cheesy enough for me, somehow) but the sandwich was tasty and a huge value. They have a nice selection of hot sauces, too. If I hadn’t been in a hurry, I would have tried one. Overall, can’t say anything negative about this cart! Solid food, awesome service.

Up top of Pioneer Courthouse Square I’d probably give this place 5 stars because of the flavor, BUT it’s not a brick and mortar spot which would be much nicer AND the guy forgot to put cheese on my sandwich: In the 80s they asked«where’s the beef?» I’d like to know…“where’s the cheese!” I just asked for a Cheesesteak Sandwich… I didn’t ask for no cheese His prices are pretty reasonable… especially if like me you are a small eater! There are actually quite a few places to sit and nosh on your food so that’s pretty nice too. If you have a vehicle then parking is of course on the street or at one of the nearby Parking Garages! Service was ok. The guy working seemed kind of introverted almost as if he’s not used to or necessarily likes working with the general public. Hopefully your experience will prove different than this!
