Good food. Philly cheesesteak and cheddar bacon burger were tasty. Cilantro mayo to dip fries in I would come back for.

The is $ 5 breakfast isn’t just a great deal. The food was delicious. We stumbled upon this place while Hayden was taking photos nearby. You gotta try this place. Nice people too.

Larger and better tasting sandwiches and sides than any place in the surrounding blocks. Unpretentious service, in fact, the employees are super nice and chill. Important to note, because when it is pouring rain you might be tempted to jump into any sandwich shop you can find. It os worth it to be patient and walk to Theo’s.

Welcome to Theos restaurant! Home of the Steak sandwich and more! Now before I write this review I want y’all to know, even though I work at this restaurant I bring you an unbiased review for your ocular enjoyment. Hungry for a filling breakfast? Theos has the best house breakfast in all downtown. With the most reasonable prices that even Ronald McDonald himself couldn’t refute, 5 bucks will get you the house breakfast. 2eggs check! 2 slices of bacon or sausage check! Toast? Check! Hash browns check! Free refill of coffee check! Theos breakfast is the real deal. They also have several variations of a veggie omelette as well as eggs made the way you like them. Lunch time? Theos has it all here, if you beat the rush and find your«usual» you could be catching yourself stopping in this hole in the wall spot for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. From cold sandwiches to burgers, phillies, and dogs, make no mistake you will find something on the menu that keeps you coming back in for sure Employees and staff are friendly, cheerful, and maybe a little too upbeat and animated at times. All of the food made is prepared in house. From the fresh roast they bake for the roast beef sandwiches and French dips, to the house made potato salad and soups prepared daily! Theos is a small looking business making big moves in the Portland culinary industry. If you’re ever in china town, look for the big yellow sign on 5th street in between Couch and Davis. Theos #DigIn

Roll in after a hard core session at Ground Kontrol arcade. Place was empty and I thought it was closed. Thank goodness it wasn’t. They have a pretty awesome menu of breakfast items, salads, burgers and sandwiches. They even have a few vegetarian items. I ordered the garlic cheese steak sandwich and it was the BOMB! There was one guy working, the counter and grill at the same time. Super friendly and quick. So glad I decided to give this place a shot!

A great find. We were looking for a lunch spot and just happened upon Theo’s. Reasonably priced and high quality. My philly was wonderful and my wife loved the 3-cheeseburger. Amazing fries!

Good cheap and fast food for this location. Not great service, no date spot. Just satisfy your hunger with good sandwiches here.

skimpy, tasteless, boring and too much money. Avacado means a spead like butter. Bacon is hard and flavorless. Salad is lettuce and a few shredded carrots. Why can’t someone surprise me.

I hate to give so many stars to somewhere that only got $ 4 of my money and I know I’ll likely never visit again just due to location, but whatever. The dudes behind the counter were friendly enough that I want to write a review just to give them their due. I didn’t know what a wafflewich was, but I was walking by thinking, «Well, I have another 40 minutes before I have to be somewhere two blocks away from here and it smells like Nutella outside the door. Let’s do this.» It’s really just a standard waffle folded in half over some toppings of your choosing. Nothing special, and even my carb-addled mind couldn’t justify eating here very often if one opened in my town, but it was absolutely worth the $ 3.75 I dropped on one filled with Nutella and marshmallow crème. And that one wafflewich kept me from getting hungry during the five-hour meeting that followed, and for that I’m VERY grateful.

This has to be my favorite sammich shop in Portland, hands down. I wish I still lived closer, because this was my dinner at least twice a week and it was magnificent– every damn time. The service is always awesome and of course the food is too. They usually have a great selection of beer too. I freakin’ love Theo’s. In fact, I love it so much that I’ve accepted it as a form of currency from my friends. Joey, you still owe me a sandwich from a year ago. Don’t forget, never forget. Update: Joey finally got me the sandwich and I am so happy.

I’m from LA, the land of expensive food and avant-garde menus. So I expected to be underwhelmed walking into Theo’s for a quick morning bite. BUT I’ve got to say that Theo’s has the best waffle, as part of a waffle sandwich, that I’ve ever had. And the price of $ 3.95 makes me wish I could ingest more. But too bad the carbs expand so quickly inside!!! The food prep is quick and the staff is friendly. Seems like locals come here quite often. I would totally recommend trying out the waffle sandwiches!

2 things happened here: 1. I drunkenly left my Coach purse here never to find it again 2. I drunkenly ate a bomb ass panini I like to focus on the latter event more-so. It’s awesome that Theo’s stays open late! I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a place with a full menu stay open for the late night partiers. That turkey panini was so memorable even in my then current state of mind!

It was okay, nothing great. I would only recommend it if you are really drunk and desperate.

When we first walked in to Theo’s, it must have been clear we were new to town. A wise older gentleman approached us, looked us in the eyes, and told us they had the best breakfast in all of the Portland. After agreeing to try it, he returned to his seat to continue his coffee. Theo’s five dollar breakfast comes with eggs, bacon or sausage, hashbrowns, coffee, and what I can only assume is homemade toast. It’s amazing. For being just off the yellow line and central to downtown, it’s exceptionally priced as well. You can definitely tell Theo’s is devoted to taking care of the locals, and not some overpriced tourist trash.

Theo’s is a cheap little café in a neighborhood full of expensive restaurants. It serves a solid breakfast for only $ 5, which, while not special, isn’t bad, and delivers on value. I got the«House Breakfast,» which includes two eggs, hash browns, bacon or sausage, toast, and coffee. The eggs were perfectly seasoned, but not exactly piping hot when they came out. They were a little overcooked, too, though not burned or anything like that. The hash browns were the shredded kind, probably from frozen. I wish they had a touch more salt and grease to compensate for the reduced flavor of frozen ones. For that matter, I wish they’d serve a slightly bigger pile. Most importantly, it would’ve been nice if they’d included onions – they make such a difference in amping up the flavor of any hash browns. Toast was slightly buttered and barely toasted white bread. Disappointing. They also didn’t offer a choice of breads. The bacon, meanwhile, was excellent. Nicely peppered, chewy, thick, and meaty. That said, it’s only two pieces, rather than the standard 3 – 4 you see in other such combos. Perhaps that’s why it’s a bit cheaper. I was really impressed with their coffee. It was strong, hot, and fortifying. The atmosphere isn’t the best here. While I like the rolling, leather-backed chairs, the garage-like space doesn’t make me want to stay long. I get the sense that they’re mostly a take-out joint, which is fine, but for someone who wants to enjoy a sit-down breakfast, that’s not as nice. That said, while business is conducted at a brisk pace, the operators are quite friendly. Considering the makeup of the menu at Theo’s, it may be more of a lunch place than a breakfast place. I haven’t had any of their sandwiches, but was generally impressed with what I saw listed. They’ve also got beer. Good on them. Even though Theo’s didn’t blow me away, they still served something decent for cheap. Particularly in the neighborhood it’s located in, that counts for something, even if that’s not something special.

tried the Chicago beef. I was thinking it would be like an Italian beef you get in Chicago. It wasn’t bad but it was more of a steak sandwich with cheese and peppers.

Call me biased but I never expect much from a cafeteria looking spot so this place took me by surprise. The guys working here care about what they are doing and are upbeat while they do it. I can’t comment on the Phillies or burgers yet but so far I have had the cob salad and today I ventured to try the special — a veggie curry bowl for $ 6. It’s flavorful, has a nice kick and lots of veggies, and you can’t beat the price! The Cobb salad had lots of seasoned chicken and didn’t skimp on the bacon, with a delicious avocado dressing. Give these guys a try.

This place isn’t terrible nor is it amazing. Just to get it out of the way, I’ve always had pleasant customer service from the guys here and I have no complaints about the actual service although it seems many reviews below do. This is mostly a cheesesteak place, but the problem is the steak is sorta bland. It’s not seasoned at all, the steak here is grey not brown. The cheese, peppers and bun are all on point but the crown jewel in any sandwich is the meat, which feels like an afterthought at Theo’s. 8.50 for a stomach filling ‘not awful not great’ cheesesteak sandwich. I’d say 2.5 or 3 stars.

Pretty decent selection for breakfast and lunch and prices are beyond reasonable. I tried a few of their cheesesteaks over the course of the week. Being from Philly I had high expectations, and this place definitely met them. I mean they weren’t close in quality to some of the finder establishments in Philadelphia, but they came pretty damn close. Service can get kind of slow during the busy lunch hours so if you are in a hurry, call ahead.

This place dishes up burgers and sandwiches with house made combinations that’ll will please just about anyone’s taste buds. My sandwich was delicious. My Philly cheesesteak had cream cheese on it, and they are generous with their servings here. Could it have gotten any better? I thought not. But it did. The house made potato salad was off the hook. If you order fries as your side dish, they have a list of unique dipping sauces to choose from. Go here for a great sandwich. I’ll come back to test the burgers, and I’m a big burger lover, so bring it on.
