History

Established in 1998.

It started with Clifford Koufman teaching drumming to groups of kids at a Montessori school in Vancouver that a friend taught at and then teaching African drumming at the Environmental Middle school (now the Sunnyside Environmental school). Parents of students requested private lessons. After a temporary position managing an African drumming shop Sound and Rhythm began a full time operation bringing rhythmic education to over a thousand people.
