Mmmm. The original tart is exactly the way I like it: super tart, icy instead of creamy texture and tangy. Skip the fruit toppings though – they weren’t very fresh.

I ducked into this froyo shop to see what the skinny was. I dipped into my country vanilla, mini marshmallows, mochi for $ 3.95 and thought I could have made my own masterpiece instead at some of the other froyo places. The dippity doo da part of it all is that there’s only 25 calories per frozen yogurt ounce!

I am here for the bubble tea. The bubble tea with juice-squirting bubbles. Yes, that kind of bubble tea. I am also here for half-vanilla, half-mango cups of fro-yo with vanilla mochi balls on top. I am that kind of girl. I also admit, I am a sucker for hot chocolate with marshmellows floating around inside. It keeps me warm in the winter and is much quicker than Starbucks across the street. Plus, the staff is super friendly and I feel all melty like ice cream when I come inside. I already know I’m going to be the envy of my office when I step back in with a cup full of fro-yo or some crazy exploding-juice-ball bubble tea. :3

Froyo is an excellent alternative to calorie-, fat-, guilty-laden hand-scooped ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s or Cold Stones. Although it is still a dessert with much sugar, you can add toppings that will alleviate your guilt such as blueberries, strawberries, and other delicious fruits. Therefore, my friend and I decided to try Skinnidip after indulging ourselves with Pad Thai from E-San food cart. Conveniently located at Portland Courthouse Square, Skinnidip attracts a good number of tourists and wonderers. But after being so used to self-serve at Yogurtland, I didn’t think I would like this place. I felt I was going to be cheated out of my money. But after seeing the quantity and tasting its quality, I was proven wrong. Very creamy and refreshing. Yes, their price is on the higher side but they have to pay their bills.

If you haven’t noticed, I like sweets. And frozen yogurt. Its one of my food groups. My standard order here is the chocolate with raspberries. The small size is plenty for one person or to share(even though I would never share mine, even if you were the man of mine dreams. Buy your own sucker.) Service is pleasant. Not a lot of topping options(which is why Lucky Spoon is tops in my book). When I asked about gluten free, the girl behind the counter gave me the«whatchu talkin about Willis» look. I never get sick from this stuff, so I assume its safe. This location is small. Almost claustophobic. Grab your fro yo and hit the square for some people watching.

I am new to town and decided to drop by Skinnidip… it was awesomeness. The servers were polite and made my experience worth typing this review. I had the peach mango with blueberries. it was delish. I will be back for sure!

I used to work across the street from this place and I find myself jonesing for it every day! The original tart is unbeatable – just the right mix of sweetness and tartness! I also loved all of the fresh toppings they had; especially the mochi! YUM! The only downside is that the location is a bit small… During the summer at lunch time it was very crowded, but well worth the wait :-)

I love this yogurt. It’s perfect. It’s not sweet like Yogurtland or Pinkberry. It really tastes natural… naturally healthy. Keeps me skinny! They do have toppings, but you can’t fill it as much as Yogurtland and Pinkberry, but I think really good yogurt doesn’t need toppings. I wish they will open one in California. I think they have three in Oregon right now. I love it!

This place is alright. Kinda pricey. The toppings should be tiered in price. I mean, only so many toppings can fit in one serving so there’s really no way you can get your money’s worth if you get more than two toppings — and I feel that more than two toppings really perverts the idea of getting frozen yogurt. Baskin Robbins is across the street and Ben & Jerry’s across the block… Anyway, the kids who work here are kind of funny. They’re a little too enthusiastic but I can go with it. I don’t think their short lives have equipped them to handle one of my cynicism but it’s fine — just give me my frozen yogurt. I will add that some of my friends detest this place. They say it’s too sweet. They do list the ‘nutritional’ values at the register and I don’t think it’s too bad. If you think frozen yogurt is what’s making you fat then, perhaps a closer look at your diet is required. For me, fro-yo is a fix. Anyway, this place is alright. I’m still holding out for a tried and true soft-serve downtown.

After driving by the Burnside location several times, we finally decided to give Skinnidip a try while walking around Pioneer Square. This one is very small. I don’t think there are any seats, but no worries… there are plenty across the street. We ate and walked in the sunshine. We settled on chocolate yogurt with caramel sauce and raspberries. It was quite good. The raspberries were fresh and flavorful. They complimented the yogurt perfectly. The 6oz. cup was only five bucks and was enough for us to share. We’ll visit again, I’m sure.
