Such a fabulous place — every sort of original and clever gift items you could ever need in one spot. I have purchased countless gifts here over the years — one of a kind, locally made jewelry, fun stocking stuffers at christmas time, hilarious greeting cards for snail mail (my favorite!). I feel like i could spend days in there looking around and still not see it all! Helpful, cheerful people behind the counter. Love this place!

What a delightful store with unique items for everyone on your birthday treasure hunting list! I appreciated the local craftsmanship at reasonable prices. The owner was lovely and very helpful. We left with a kick ass birthday card, brushed copper hoop earrings, and a new leather wallet with meerkats stamped on it. We will surely be back.

As my wife Lauren C. stated in her review of Redux, the customer service we received was at best crummy.
My wife posted an update inside her review, including a photo. This was after receiving a exceptionally inaccurate response from Tamara, which neither had the right day, date or time. If you are going to post a response refuting a customer opinion, one recommends you get your facts straight first.
What started out as a frustrating experience, has turned sour, based mostly on smug responses from the owner. Since the payment receipt was 4 minutes past closing, one assumes that we spent the bulk of our time in the store during the so-​called «optimal time», with the last few minutes of our time inside the store paying for the purchases. In hindsight, maybe it would have been better to have been informed that it was after the shop had closed for the day and that they would no longer be able to run my credit-​card.
There are a lot of other stores in Portland that I am more than happy to spend my money at.

Hmmm, I had quite a different experience than most. However, I do see a few reviews that reflect a similar experience to mine.
Cold and fairly rude, was the costumer «care» I was given.
I came looking for Christmas gifts, actually, many Christmas gifts. I’m not sure why I left with a few, because I should have just left with nothing.
The person behind the counter, I’m assuming the owner, and another shop gal were chatting as we came in. I did not get any offer of help, and my husband and I were the only costumer in the store. When I asked the possible owner if I could look in a locked jewelry case, she seemed annoyed, and asked which pieces I wanted to see, and I said «a few», which seemed to annoy her further. She also made a point of saying she had to stand next to me and watch me look at each piece. I get loss prevention, but she could be way cooler about it.
I continued looking through the store. Then right before closing time, the 2^nd gal told us «it’s our closing time», with a «you need to leave tone».
As I said, I’m not sure why I bought anything at all, but I know I would have taken my time, and bought a few other items if they had not been so pushy and cold. I also always share great new finds with just about everyone I know. So, their loss on any future business from me, and any referrals I would have given.
Update:
In response to Tamara’s «Comment», she must be thinking of someone else. It was a Sunday, a week and a half ago. They closed at 5, we walked in at 4:50. We walked out at 5:05, this was after making our purchases.
I’ve attached a photo of my receipt which clearly shows 5:04 as our check out time.
Pretty bad customer service in the store, and just an low and untruthful response via «comment» on my review.
Tamara has now posted a 3^rd comment. My initial update no longer makes sense, she deleted her original (after seeing the picture I posted disproving what she said), where she excused her short behavior by saying we came in at 7(closing), and said they gently reminded us to leave at 7:15.
Here’s the thing. Regardless of whether or not she was dishonest, and she was, they were rude to us in the store, and none of it was gentle. Neither my husband, nor I have ever experienced anything like this before.
To address one of Tamaras issues with us, the problem was not with her standing by me while I looked through the case, my problem was with the short delivery. I’ve been to many stores where they say, «I’ll be right here if you need anything», while standing next to me. I’ve never had someone bark «I have to watch you».
I’m not going to go over each of the offenses again. That’s just silly.
What was an irritating experience inside the store has now just become ludicrous with each one of Tamaras personal attacks via «comments» on my review.

Fantastic selection of jewelry. Unique, tasteful, and reasonably priced. I like that they carry local designers so you can get things you won’t find anywhere else. My friend and I bought four pairs of earrings and a mug in 15 minutes!

Came back in here to check out my classmates artwork and the owner was very nice and pleasant. I had a good experience this time around.

The coolest boutique-​gallery in all of the land. Redux has managed to carry only the coolest local designers and a few others hand picked from the good ol USA. Tamara has a great eye and super fun personality. Shop here and be happy! Take home a treasure!

Run-​of-​the-​mill kitch. Overloaded with skulls and studs. Not much of anything you couldn’t find at a corporate craft store. It feels like they’ll just take any consigner that’s interested.
I truly don’t understand the hype. This is Portland, people! Aren’t we at least suppose to be feigning originality?

Great little shop, like others have said, like having a bunch of etsy all in one place. Super cool selection for the super-​hip on your gift list. Cute chinese take-​out container gift wrapping, very nice counter help, easy parking and in an area with other cute shops too. Much better store than the sign outside might make you think.

Even better than the products was the service. The girl behind the counter was Super friendly. They have a list she shared with me of similar boutiques (probably 40+ of them) and several maps of areas to check out in Portland.

I absolutely adore Redux. I randomly stumbled across this cute little gift store when exploring PDX and have kept coming back after all these years. I have an accessories closet full of their necklaces, earrings and rings. The owner is such a gem and has always been so sweet every time I come in. The staff is friendly, accommodating and their gifts are lovely. Local artists are featured and one of the designers actually works there as well, and her pieces are stunning. So many of my gifts for others have come from here and each time every single person has LOVED their trinket from here. The jewelry is beautiful and they work with you if there is something that you may want changed on a necklace. They really work on making sure you get what you truly want before leaving their store. She does an amazing job of stocking her store with things that are really thoughtful and beautiful. The way they package up the gifts are so sweet as well. Little lunch boxes and cute stickers, the gifts are always just ready to go when I leave. Also when I break a necklace (i’m terrible with dainty things) she will always fix them and work with me to try to have them not break in the future. I tell all my guy friends to go get their girlfriends/​wives/​whomever to get gifts for their loved ones here because no one has been disappointed thus far in anything that has been given from here. Ladies, awesome place for best friend’s gifts, etc. If you have time pop into this store, you’ll love it. I hope you guys are around forever so I can always have a place to get everyone’s gifts from. Although whenever I go in for gifts, I always leave with three things for myself as well, ha! Oh well!

Sorry Portland, Im embarrassed. If the owner doesn’t turn you off or whoever the mean and distasteful girl is behind the computer than the rip off DIY art will. The epitome of DIY art but really stuff you can find at retail store with just a chain added here and a feather or stone there. Let’s support the real deal and not such worthless rip offs to dress ourselves in. You are more beautiful without all this junk on you. Lacking originality and meaning. Appears there is no direction or risk good enough to shop here unless you are still in High School. I think I’d rather a honey bucket or food cart in its place. way more useful.

I. LOVE. REDUX!
Redux is always on my «must go see; must go do» list whenever I visit Portland. And I love them for so many reasons:
— One-​of-​a-​kind knick knacks that make awesome presents for out-​of-​state friends (or for myself). Such as: postcards, ties, cards, necklaces, rings, earrings, posters, clocks, belt buckles, purses, wallets, hats … I can go on and on.
— Most (if not all) of the stuff here are by local Portland artisans — It’s like having multiple Etsy finds under one roof!
— Super friendly staff with their cute vintage-​y styles
— Cozy but cute décor
— Fair prices
While my home state visits are annual and short-​lived, I never skip out on making a trip here. I look forward to coming back and seeing what new items they’ll have in store. Redux: see you next year! :)

This store can go straight under ‘stuff that white people like’. This store is filled with knickknack made out of re-​purposed items. I think this store must inspire a bunch of crappy home DIY project and horrible xmas presents. A necklace made of scrabble pieces? How inventive! a spoon bent into a bracelet? Wacky! Something with that thing from the 80’s or 90’s that you love? They probably have that. Plus, a bunch of other crap you didn’t know you needed.

Repurposed, recycled, renewed, reused arts and crafts. it’s all here and it’s all done well.
They’ve got unique jewelry including steampunkish to elaborate artsy bling. There’s clocks that once were tin cans with a beater for the ticktock. There’s shiny old hubcaps that will tell you time as well as old 45 record clocks. There are lamps with photo slides for illumination.
The prices are very reasonable for what the items are worth. And the items will last forever as you will not want to «throw them away».

Without further ado, I’ll cut to the chase by simply acknowledging that I’m the 40^th five-​star review for Redux –and, it’s absolutely no surprise.
Once having moved back to Portland in August, I’ve been exploring the city I grew up in, finding a few places that I’ve never seen.
After living in the second largest city in the U.S. (i.e., LA), I’m a little (very) picky when it comes to finding something that sparkles in my eyes –a store or restaurant that is really amazing, entertaining, & unique (and, when I say ‘unique,’ I’m not solely speaking of a word that equates to something that’s off-​the-​wall in a ‘Keep Portland Weird’ manner).
The greatest store I’ve found is definitely Redux.
Redux isn’t that large of a store, yet I could spend so much time, simply perusing. There are so many amazing pieces of jewelry & art by so many different artists; this is why so many different personalities could walk through the door and find something in which they love. This store is like rainbow ice cream (if there is such a thing); the owner provides you with so many different colors and flavors, and it’s delicious.
This is an excellent place to buy someone a gift, especially for those who seem to have everything. Not only that, but this is also a place to give the gift that no one else will give. Even if you simply need a card, why not support a local artist while buying a non-​Hallmark piece that’s genuinely one-​of-​a-​kind.
Lastly, I’ve talked with the owner, and she’s wonderful. She has an excellent energy, and it’s no surprise that’s she’s created a place that you will surely love.

Redux is on Burnside across from the Jupiter, which gives it bonus points and is absolutely fantastic. I don’t know how you categorize stores that have a bunch of stuff in them, jewellery, cards, belts etc but however you do, this is one of those. Probably the best one I’ve been in.
The store is quite big and we were there on… First Friday? which meant that they were open late and serving drinks and there was a DJ which was pretty killer, but so was the selection.
After drooling over a belt buckle for a few I finally asked, not only is it made out of recycled bike parts, it’s a bottle opener. So yea, sold. That was pretty awesome.
They have a huge, great selection of jewellery and cards. I stocked up on the type of cards I like to send when I’m not single (right… they are that awesome, I stocked up for FUTURE relationships. what? I know).
Anyway, I super love this place, the staff were really friendly, the prices were really reasonable and I’ll poke my head in next time I’m in PDX to see what other local treasures they’ve got!

I am SO thrilled that I found this place – it’s incredible! I was on my way to Saturday Market to look for some gifty things for a few people but wasn’t feeling entirely optimistic that I would find what I wanted there, so I found this place on Unilocal and decided to stop here first.
I will never go anywhere else for gifts – christmas, birthdays, you name it. Such a great array of neat things at various prices. Things for young and old, male and female. AMAZING. Thank you, Redux, for existing!

Redux in Portland is a one stop shop for crafty items made from reused materials. They specialize in jewelery and accessories, bags, home decorations and artwork.
They also have just about the cheapest replacement belt leather I’ve found and many unique belt buckles.
The things they carry are quality and stand on their own design-​wise. And when you get complements, you can start a conversation on their green reuse history.
Great staff and lively art openings with a DJ and refreshments on the first Friday of every month.
They are also very supportive of fellow shops, neighborhood art events, and the entire ecosystem of more sustainably made items — their website is a font of good information.
I’m continually impressed with the items in this store!
Redux is a unique store for Portland visitors, for hard to find gifts, and for yourself too!

This is like the ultimate Portland gift store. They have awesome stylish stuff made by local people from recycled or repurposed materials. When you hear that last part, you think «oh, it’s gonna be some hippie stuff, right?» Nope. This is some cool, etsy-​style crafty DIY stuff with a lot of style. Wallets, books, clothing, accessories, purses, etc. The list goes on.
Really what has me sold on this place is their selection of silk-​screened ties. They’re amazing. I’m heading back in soon to purchase some. I need some for my wardrobe.
Plus, the owner has an old greyhound in the back that will come out to greet you and get some love (if you need some help shopping).
Good stuff. Gotta love Portland.
