Quality Inn & Suites Airport

Not in the most beautiful area of Portland, near freeways and an airport. Directly across from a cemetery and some bars. Run down and in need of some updates, namely the carper. It was good for a 1 night stay at a cheap rate, but definitely a far cry from some better hotels in the city. Easy access right off the freeway but the intersection right on the corner is tricky to navigate during traffic. $ 50 deposit upon check in is required.
Pros: They were very professional and let us check in a few hours early. Free breakfast! Places to eat in walking distance.

Advantages: close to airport and train station, clean, good breakfast, good staff, good and safe neighborhood. Disadvantages: not soundproof, very humid in the room-​therefore smelly but not too bad, keys would work only once– then had to go to front desk.

Staff was friendly room was a 2 out side a 1 food was a ½. If you think you are booking a hotel that is a 3 or 4 you will be very disappointed if you normally book a 1 or 2 you will be happy

This hotel was not bad at all. Good location to everything, clean hotel, good room cleaning service, comfy clean beds, Iand it’s close to the freeway. I went in November 2014 and had no complaints or issues with my stay here.
The only thing is this parking lot filled up completely in the evening, so it was a challenge trying to find a parking spot. Also, the front desk is slow… frustrating if you’re in a rush to head back to the airport.

I’ve stayed in my fair share of Choice owned hotels and they usually are on the decent to moderate scale. This place however… 3 star hotel they call it… You would have a better shot of a 3 star stay burrowing into the anal cavity of the homeless man reheating putrid leftovers in the lobby shared with the other motel on the same campus. This place sucks. If you’re looking to stay close to the airport, spend the extra $ 20 and go elsewhere. This needs to be removed from the 3 star category on Priceline.

I guess I hadn’t looked at the pictures when I booked this hotel because it is a motel! But I was so surprised by how nice it is! Everything was very clean. A full «mini» fridge, microwave, coffee maker with all the fixings. Breakfast is 6−9am and comes with everything you could want. I took several things along for my plane ride. The water was out of order that day so I asked where I could get some and next thing I know, the keeper of the breakfast room had brought me a cup of water from the fitness center! It was so unexpected and nice! The front desk staff is also super nice and accommodating. Very pleased!

I was able to get an advance rate of $ 71 for this place and it was a great deal. It looks like a renovated motel but you cannot get a better deal. The staff were friendly, the room was clean, and breakfast was well stocked with a lot of variety. I wasn’t looking for a Hampton or a Double Tree, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.
The hotel is located right next to a MAX stop we took into Portland 5 times in our 2 days there. That made transportation a breeze. My only suggestion is more for the company than this location. I tried to add another night at the $ 71 price (or even something close to that) so I could have more time in the city, but they wanted to charge $ 139 instead of $ 71! I declined the offer and we went on our way.
If you can get the cheaper rate online, do it, because you will not be disappointed in the value.

My boyfriend and I stay here on the 22 of April and we accidentally left our game system and when we realized we called thinking they found it but no the cleaning lady had left and told us that they would call us in an hour but they took more then they said so we decided to call and we said again that we left our game system there but they said they haven’t found any thing and will check with the main cleaning lady. The week passes and we called and told us that they don’t no anything and told us they can do any think I pissed me of because the main people of the hotel should be in charge of all devices and things that have accidentally been left and they should start putting some sort of insurance or something so I personally do not recommend staying here they will steal from you and act like they don’t know nothing!!!

This hotel is a bang for your buck! I really appreciated the professionalization of the staff at the front desk. When I got to my room I was impressed by the décor. This place definitely exceeded my expectations. Thank You!

Awesome hotel my family always stay there when we go to Portland. Great rooms perfect location staff is hit or miss but the continental breakfast is always nice. Being from Hawaii I like that it’s right down the street from all our favorite stops i.e. trader joes, Ohana café and of course voodoo doughnuts! We’ll defiantly be back every time we visit Oregon

We stayed here for an animé convention in Vancouver. It’s just a short 15 minute drive from here. The hotel is nice and quiet, free wifi, free breakfast with pretty much anything you could want. Hotel staff was super nice and helpful. Rooms are modern, very clean and comfortable. Pool is nice. Air conditioning worked great. Housekeeping was very good. They even made my kids bed up with their little stuffed animals and stuff like a cute little display, which was a happy surprise after being on our feet all day. This is definitely where we’ll stay next year for Kumoricon.

We were very nervous when the airport shuttle pulled up to the outside of this hotel. We paid a fairly cheap rate and it was close to the airport. We walked in and both guys at the front desk were GREAT. Very, very friendly. The room absolutely surprised me. Very clean and updated. No complaints here.

Toni and Caroline were seriously so helpful and nice with helping us with our many questions. We came here so unexpectedly last minute getaway and they gave us so many ideas of where to eat and what to do. Toni is in training and she did everything great while Caroline had a lot of information and definitely would come back.

I chose this hotel because it was conveniently close to a business function event. I did some research online first and read reviews. I normally take extra caution on reasonably priced and budget hotels because of the quality of cleanliness (obviously). I saw some traveller pics and the bedding and loo looked ok and received 4 stars on Trip Advisor, so I gave it a go.
Upon arrival, the external complex were reminiscent of those budget motels in movies, but the main reception area was nice and contemporary in design. Front desk lady was ok, looked a bit serious but helpful.
Our room was clean, good bedding and a perfectly sized loo and closet. It was clean, neatly arranged and was better than I thought it would be. The free breakfast was awesome as well as the attendant in charge who was present, attentive, and helpful. Very friendly too, greeting those entering.
Overall, this is an excellent hotel for a budget type — clean looking, has all you need, and simple yet filling free breakfast every morning. I would comeback for sure.

I’m was SOO afraid when the airport shuttle pulled up to the Quality Inn & Suites. The outside has a very sketchy appearance — basically, it looks like hooker central.
To add to the sketchiness, the office is both the front desk for the Quality Inn and Rodeway Inn. Why? I’m not sure. If they’re owned by the same company, why don’t they just merge? Whatever.
Also, as there were no elevators, I got to drag my luggage up the stairs. Fancy.
Luckily, the room was much better than envisioned. The bed was comfortable, the room was reasonably clean and not too dated. I also liked that the sink was not in the same room as the shower. Makes getting ready easier if there is more than one in the room.
I also appreciated the free breakfast and coffee. The breakfast included waffles, toast, eggs, sausage, fruit, coffee, tea, hardboiled eggs, and various pastries. Free breakfast is always, always a good thing.
This place is good in a pinch or a one-​night business trip. However, not a place I’d choose to stay on a vacation.

For the price you pay for a room here, I’d recommend going someplace else. The rooms are okay, adequate. The service is deplorable. A car alarm went off in the middle of the night in front of our room (someone left their lights on), so I called the front office to report it. They said they had received several complaints and would take care of it. An hour went by, and nothing was done, so I called again. They said they would take care of it. Another hour went by, so I called again and gave them the license plate number. They replied that they couldn’t do much about it because of «privacy reasons», then gave me a lecture on staff shift changes (while admitting that they hadn’t communicated anything to each other during said shift changes).
They were just unnecessarily rude and even after I brought this up with management, they never apologized. It’ll do in a pinch, but there are just so many other hotels in the Portland area, of equivalent price range, that provide better accommodations and service, it’s stupid to waste your money on this one.

My husband and I went to Portland last October to celebrate our honeymoon. We got here in the middle of the night and were so grateful for the prompt shuttle service. The chick at the desk told us the wrong room. It was a slight annoyance to traipse back and forth with all of our luggage in the freezing night since the room she told us was ours was one of the ones getting renovated. Lame.
We finally get our room and settle in. We start getting busy. Ouch! We looked at my back. A small, reddened bump appeared in the middle of my back. Huh. Weird. We carry on. Okay, now the itching is intolerable. I get up, and my back is covered with red bug bites! My husband procures us another room.
The next day, we enjoyed their breakfast; you can make your own waffle and enjoy local yogurt. But management did not give a f*** when I told them what had happened, and tried to deny that bedbugs work that fast. Ummm, I’m a registered nurse. I have more than a passing knowledge of parasites. I wanted to burn all of my clothes since we were in a bug infested room. Since they didn’t give a crap what happened to me, I’m warning you now!

We had «business to attend to,» as they say, and just needed a place in Portland to lay our heads for a couple of nights. I did not want to spend too much $$$ on our room, but still wanted a place that was clean, comfortable, and safe. Some web sleuthing led me to the Quality Inn.
I read a number of reviews on Unilocal (and, yes, elsewhere) and they were almost universally positive. Most pointed to what a great deal this property is for the money. And, having now stayed there, I completely agree.
Room was not huge, but was completely fine for a couple of nights. It did include a nice comfy chair for sitting back and relaxing (or reading) and a good size desk for doing some computer work. They offer free WiFi and we had no problem with connectivity or speed. The motel is located just off I-​205 and is also on a main street that offers a straight shot into downtown. (It is also right next to a MAX station, though we did not take advantage of that this trip.) The free breakfast was not gourmet, but filled a hole each morning. (It would be nice if the breakfast hours were expanded a bit; it is only served until 9:00 AM even on weekends, and, come about 8:45, it got a hair nutty in the breakfast room.)
Overall, though, we were very satisfied with the accommodations and would definitely stay here again.
The biggest plus at this Quality Inn, though, is the staff, specifically the manager on duty the night we checked in. There was a problem with our reservation, which had been made through a third party service. It was 9:00 PM at this point and, thanks to Friday rush hour traffic, we’d just had a four-​and-​a-​half hour slog down from Seattle. All we wanted to do was get settled in our room. Since the error with our reservation was the fault of the third party service, the manager could have just thrown up his hands and said, «not my problem.» Instead, he went above and beyond what he had to do, in my opinion, to rectify the situation in a way that was satisfactory to me, offering me a fair price for the room and accommodating the request I’d made in my earlier dealings with the third party to be on the higher floor (and he put us in a room towards the back of the property, further away from the street noise).
This superior customer service was very much appreciated and has totally earned the Quality Inn an extra star!

This Quality Inn is in a great location right near the Max LIne. The price is around $ 80 a night, and for Portland that’s a great price. Very helpful staff. Free airport shuttle.
The room is very comfy with new furniture and a very comfy bed. The room is Clean with a Bathtub/​shower. Outdoor pool, no hot tub

Free breakfast that includes scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, oatmeal, fruit, hard boiled eggs, english muffins, bagels, and toast, danish, juice, milk, coffee, and tea.
When we arrived at the airport we bought a 7 day public transit ticket for $ 24 and had no problem going all over Portland and the surrounding cities. The ticket covered all buses, max lines, and trolleys.
There is a huge mall at Cascades, the next Max line stop from the motel, with every thing you can need, even an IKEA store.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this hotel on Expedia at such a good rate with what appeared to be a good list of amenities. Strangely, I couldn’t find it listed on Unilocal and had to read reviews on Tripadvisor before booking
Judging from the number of hotel vans arriving at the airport, you really are spoilt for choice with airport hotels in Portland. I did hang aronud a bit before realising that after a certain time, you have to ring the hotel for pickup from the airport — this is complementary. Once I had rung, the van was there within minutes and the transfer only took less than 10 minutes.
From the outside, it appears to be a cheap motel brand with outside corridors. However, the rooms themself were decorated, equipped and furnished to much higher level — easily as nice as most of the mid to lower expensive branded chain hotels — huge, comfortable bed with fluffy pillows, huge telly, fridge, microwave, nice bathroom in 2 sections. The staff were always helpful and friendly.
However, there are a few bonuses which in my opinion elevate this place to even higher status — it is literally next door (2 minute walk) to the Parkrose/​Sumner MAX line which will deliver you into downtown Portland within 20 minutes. There is a large outdoor swimming pool in the car park — however, it’s not as bad as sounds because the high walls shield it from the car park.
Lastly but not least is the incredible breakfast that they serve up in the mornings. You can make your own waffles, biscuits with gravy (new to me but very moreish!), full selection of bagels/​pastries/​bread to toast as well as cereal, yoghurt and fruit.
Portland is a lovely laid-​back city with fantastic public transport. Incredibly, travel is completely free in the downtown area which covers a generous portion of the city. There is lovely scenery within easy drives of the city centre — I only managed to scratch the surface on this visit by driving down the Old Scenic Highway of the Columbia River Gorge with Vista House and Multnomah Falls being the outstanding stopoffs. I also enjoyed lovely food at Murata and Carlyle.
This hotel really represents unbelievable value for money and I hope this positive review doesn’t lead to higher prices as I fully to stay here again on my next visit to Portland.
