Rodeway Inn At Portland Airport

We stayed only 6 hours, but this was one of the worst experiences I have had with staff. Our non-​smoking room smelled like marijuana when we walked in, but we thought it would dissipate. After a few hours, the smell got worse and we called the front desk to come check it out. She responded that there were only «old people» near us and they couldn’t come knock on doors (it was illegal). Ironically, an hour later a man walked into the front office complaining of bed bugs and wreaked of marijuana. She followed him back to check out the bedding (again, she helped this man out, but wouldn’t check out our issue at all) and found his smoking paraphernalia littered across the room. She fined him and told us the story as she handed us our bill. We had to leave early because we couldn’t sleep and will NOT return to this hotel. VERY POOR EXPERIENCE WITH STAFF. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Terrible service and staff! Room had bugs in the sink and tub. Blood on the bed in multiple spots. I wouldn’t send my worst enemies to pay that much for incompetence and just a flat out dirty place. Just sickening!

If you are going to spend $ 100 for a room you can do a lot better. it was clean. the TV was fine, WiFi worked. Desk clerk was nice. However, NO amenities. no fridge, no coffee maker (I always have my own with me regardless), no hair dryer, bed was dreadful… like an overpuffed marshmallow, very noisy AC. disappointing. yeah its near the airport and the facility where we needed to go, but should have researched further. $ 100 is too much to spend for what we got.

Let me first start of by saying that the bed was wonderfully comfortable with a nice pillow top mattress. The wifi was good, the pool was also nice and clean and the staff was very friendly. Those things, however, did not make up for the overall shabbiness. The bathroom smelled strongly like mildew and the paint on the tub was all chipped off. The curtains had holes in them. The lamps were are chipped up and looked like they had been picked up at a yard sale for a quarter. The «continental breakfast» consisted of microwave oatmeal packs and a choice between a banana or an orange plus the coffee was horrible. There were tweekers walking through the parking lot all the time and I had a conversation with a gal outside our room who I’m pretty sure was a hooker. It’s like this place tried but they didn’t try hard enough. I paid $ 125 for a night at this place and I feel like I should have paid around $ 60.

The rodeway side is where we stayed. We drive up and there were at least 6 families that were trying to check in and he handled us all with courtesy as well as speed. We had to wake up at 4am in order to get a shuttle by 5am. We walked into the front office at 4:30 (myself and two kiddos 8 & 10) and Elena realized we wouldn’t be eating food if we were to get on the shuttle by 5. Even though Colton had explained when the breakfast would open, I clearly hadn’t thought ahead that far! Elena wouldn’t have it. She let us in to the breakfast room, where she then went and got us three pieces of sausage heated up so they would have something warm to eat! Of course great orange juice, fresh bananas, and some cinnamon toast crunch was also on the menu:) Elana was a lifesaver! Then Ian ended up taking us a little early with our full bellies and kept the kiddos entertained on our drive to the airport. All in all the hotel might be a two star but the staff was 5 star all the way! Thank you from our little family to yours!!!

Outstanding service! I made a reservation on the choice hotel app and it worked great! This Hotel is like 2 in one. One side is the Rodeway Inn the other side is the Quality Inn and Suites. This is a very unique Hotel. I checked in late last night and the front desk staff was very helpful to me. They got me checked in real fast. I had no problems with my room key of finding my room. The parking on the other hand is a mess. Not enough parking spaces. But other than that great! Once I got into my Hotel room I was blown away! The room looked brand new. Nice big King size bed, brand new bathroom brand new sink new carpet nice flat screen hd tv. A remote that works. Very clean room. New bath tub. Easy to operate. I was really blown away! This Hotel is right by the Portland International Airport so very convenient. It is also off of I 205 high way so that is really good. I highly recommend this Hotel!

The front desk staff were helpful, friendly and polite. but ask yourself this question before booking this hotel. When staying in a two star hotel does that mean trash left in the receptacles, no toilet paper completely empty, curtains with holes and light bulbs out? Never again. I have had two bad experiences with Priceline in a row time to move on

Room smells bad, there’s trash on the ground all over the place, and there’s a gross stain on the sheet. I took it off the bed and bunched it on the floor hoping housekeeping would give me a new one but they folded it up and put it back on the bed. Never staying here again.

i am so upset and disappointed with this motel that I am writing this review from my room at the Rodeway Inn at Portland AIrport. The heaters in the rooms do not blow anything even close to warm air out of them. I called the front desk 3 times, was told to wait half an hour for the heater to kick in (it’s almost midnight). Waited and nothing. So I was transferred to another room with another bad heater. I understand that it’s cold outside and the heaters take air from outside and blow it in to the room, but then invest in heaters that actually work! It’s cranked on max and it’s blowing a weak, almost cold air out. I called Priceline, who I booked through and they tried to see if the motel would refund me my money so I could stay elsewhere, but Rodeway would not give me a refund. They brought me more blankets instead. i am upset and cold and going to bed with a hat, 3 shirts and two pairs of socks on. Avoid in the winter.

This is the place to stay for park & fly! Great price! Staff was beyond nice, especially Ruthey! You will be shocked at how great this hotel is!

PROS: Decent and comfortable rooms; right next to MAX Park n Ride; reception is friendly.
CONS: Property is somewhat run down; rooms are bare bones (no microwave or fridge or even coffeemaker); no outside vending machines that work; lobby «breakfast» is non-​existent. Even the coffee/​tea set up is pretty unattractive.
MAJOR CON: If you leave an article behind, you’ll never get it back. Have stayed there over 30 days in 2014, in which I’ve inadvertently left articles behind. Even though I specifically name the articles, they tell me there’s «nothing in lost and found». No discernable method to contact guests re articles. Somewhat dishonest, lazy or incompetent in assisting the recovery. Housekeeping may just keep articles they find.

The hotel is in a great location, close by the airport and not too far from all the sights. The staff were very accomodating and super friendly! Just a heads up, it’s right across the street from one of the oldest cemeteries in the state which is pretty cool.
The reasons why I give it 3 stars is because the room we stayed in was dirty. I want to be able to walk on the carpet, comfortably, without having my bare feet turn black. I had to wear my shoes or socks all the time which got annoying because they got dirty anyways. I’m guessing they don’t vacuum? The blankets had stains and the walls are paper thin.
Because of the location, I wouldn’t mind staying there again but only if it were a last resort.

PROS: pft. Nice bathroom counters.
CONS: no phone, stinky smell, totally incompetent and angry agent in office was freaking out because the phone kept ringing while I was checking in (it was almost midnight) and he could not handle checking me in and the phone ringing at the same time, he kept making awkward and rude remarks about the «constantly ringing» phone and «these people are driving me crazy» — even slamming the phone down — really hard– on the counter when he lost his temper at one point! Exterior of motel is totally unkempt/​trashy– looks like a bigger dump than it is — future trailer home park.
Get this… wifi not unlocked — so because there’s no phone in the room to call the office — I had to call tech support for the company who provides the service to get the password (!), password did not work, they confirmed the password many times admitting I was using the right one, but it didn’t work. Tech support calls the office, password still not working. (Mind you, these tech guys on the phone were really going above and beyond to try to connect me, even trying to route me around the motel router!) — jump ahead 40 minutes… turns out the dufus in the office, Joe, KNEW THERE WAS NO NET ACCESS IN MY ROOM but didn’t to tell me this upon check in!!! So it is about 12:50am now and I’m unpacked, in pajamas, and need to get online to verify my morning flight time when I find out I can’t get online in my room! Oh, and did I mention? tech support tells me at one point that the office guy stopped answering the phones, just stopped! So eventually the tech support guy says he got through to the office and the guy working there says to tell me to come and get online in the lobby. So I go to the lobby — where this guy starts saying –in a yell– that he never said this and that, that I am l «lying» and «making things up». When I say that I don’t see why a tech support guy would lie to me, this desk clerk yells even louder saying he «doesn’t want to hear my lies»!! When I tell him that I need to get online for just a minute to get my morning flight time and say «Just let me get online for a minute» — he tells me he has «had enough» and to «get out of his» lobby or I’ll throw you out.” (The guy is like 5’2″ and can’t even answer phones without totally stressing out, so, not too threatening of a character). I asked again for the password so I could get online, he kept yelling at me that I was a liar and saying I put words in his mouth and to get out of his lobby, etc. I am pretty sure he was drunk or high, he had to be, it was WAY too insane! I told him to stop yelling at me and just helped myself to a lobby computer and retrieved my flight time. He ranted, but I ignored him. I think he might have wet himself, he was incredibly frustrated that I didn’t leave his lobby.
When does the shuttle go to the airport? Glad you asked. Well, there’s no room phone to call the office and ask, so I check all over the room for a phone number to call the office on my cell — no number provided. I search around for a shuttle schedule — none. Turns out, you have to make a reservation for an airport shuttle– WHICH can only be done in the office as there is neither phone nor schedule posted! Is this place for real?!
THIS IS ALL TRUE, I SWEAR! I was and am totally in disbelief of it. And I actually paid over $ 120.00 for the dis-​pleasure of it.

Weird depressions in the floor. Strange smells in the hallway. Paper-​thin walls. Unaccommodating elderly man at the front desk. Par for the course when you’re paying $ 56 a night.

This hotel has seen better days.
I stayed at this hotel earlier this month. Room 253. I have pictures to support some of the feedback I’m going to give (I will add the photos soon). I did not raise my concerns to the manager. I was exhausted and didn’t feel like arguing or lugging my bags to another room.
1. The rooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves (at least on the Rodeway Inn side). That’s right; one side of the property is Rodeway Inn and the other is Quality Inn. This review can only count for Rodeway although since they are managed by the same manager, I hold them equally responsible).
2. The room sink had a huge, molded hole on the side closest to the user. I’ll add a photo of that. It was pretty disgusting.
3. The shower was run down. It looked like they had tried to paint or resurface it. It was pretty gross. You could still see soap scum in the shower (photo to come).
4. The floorboards near the wall AC unit were damaged.
5. Bedding materials were old.
6. Floors were stained.
7. No change machine in laundry room or vending area (and the machines only take quarters).
The only positives:
1. The housekeeper was very nice.
2. The breakfast is ok.
3. They have an exercise room.
4. You’re right near the airport and the rates are cheap.

I would skip this hotel unless they made major improvements. For the price, I’m sure you could find something in

This is a weird situation. Now one hotel, yet has a sign for Quality and Rodeway. Both are in the choice hotel chain and they take bookings under each. The front desk is the same with both signs behind them. Same help checks you in regardless of which your booked with.
The Rodeway prices are less, sometimes quite a bit less. However the breakfast is only is for the Quality guests as they pay more. Your room key unlocks the breakfast room if your a Quality guest. Personally Id normally opt for the Rodeway and eat elsewhere for the cost difference. The breakfast area though was well cared for.
I like this as its right by Parkrose Max. If you have a rental car and your return is on Holman.(.they keep moving around) but as of today I know thrifty and budget are on Holman… just go east a few blocks on Sandy, turn left on 105^th and around the bend and you are there! So easy.
There is a Jim Dandy restaurant across the street for those that opt for the Rodeway booking. Or hop on MAX. Max also has a bus transit hub in front of the train stop. Learning the buses takes a bit more work though.
The hotel also has a shuttle if you need it to the airport. It has an outdoor pool avail to all guests and also a room with washer dryer –pay– and vending machines. Wi fi works fairly well for email but not so good for video and things that take more. For what I pay I am happy here.

I have been there two or three times. It’s a nice place for short stays. Price is reasonable. They provide airport shuttle for sure. Front desk is friendly and helpful. The room condition is nice. The bed is large and everything looks clean. WIFI is high and free. The breakfast is good and it runs out pretty fast. The MAX is near the inn, which connects to two lines and can take you to downtown.

We checked in on our first trip to Portland. The staff at the Motel were very friendly and helpful but we didn’t have many reasons to talk to them.
The room was average, carpet was a little dirty, you could tell the bed was old and the bottom sheet came off every single night. The shower didn’t drain that well and there was paint all over the tub.
There is free Wifi, however it is very slow.
The cable kept freezing and often times when we first turn on the tv, there would be sound but no picture, thank goodness my Husband is handy and could fix it every time.
The free continental breakfast was okay, bagels, muffins, Danishes and fruit.
During the week, The motel was nice and quiet, but we noticed on the weekend that more questionable people had shown up. Our room was located right next door to what looked like a conference room and on Friday night when we returned around 10:00 pm there was a conference going on, I was concerned that it would be loud and bother us however we were pleasantly surprised that we didn’t hear one peep from them.
Overall it was a good motel for the price. No frills.

I stayed here back in Sept. 2011 and had a wonderful experience. Recently I stayed here on a trip to Portland and had a less than stellar experience. The guy at the front desk was friendly, but in that way where he is overly familiar and creepy.
Then our room was dark and crowded with too much furniture.
When I went to shower after a 3hr drive in the heat the bathtub was gross it has peeling paint and looked dingy. I skipped the shower and used a wash cloth to clean up.
The bed was as comfy as I remember, but that was the only redeeming quality.
Breakfast was poor quality sad looking donuts and juice. There was not even cereal or milk. This distressed me as I had bought a box of cereal banking on them having milk to eat it with. :(

I was in Portland for a quick day on my way back from Seattle. The outside of this place looks like crap. They are doing construction which happened to be right out front of the door, which was very annoying at 8am. They were digging, so it felt like an earthquake. Good thing I’m from Cali.
The inside was very nice and looked recently renovated however, there was not a hairdryer (boo) or a mini fridge, OR a microwave. I’ve stayed at shady motels that have had all of thsoe things! There is only one ice machine on property, so pray your room is next to it, otherwise you will have to trek across the pothole filled construction parking lot or it.
To top it all off, our phone didn’t work and our cable took awhile to work after we had to plug in all of the wires.
This place is cheap, but there are other much nicer motels that are around the same price. It gets one star for location (near the airport) and one star for being cheap.
